Yes it’s my first! It’s lovely having them for reassurance but it’s been difficult to fully relax because of why I need them so often. Congratulations on your boy too!

Musicalitymum · 05/10/2023 10:00

Thanks everyone. I’ve got my covid and flu jabs next week at my local doctors. Still organising whooping cough though. Haven’t heard back from midwife, she always takes ages to reply. I think I’m having a boy but the Sonographer was a bit uncertain. I’m feeling very round this week x

Shrillwaffle · 05/10/2023 12:03

felt Ill the last few days fluey kind of symptoms and a sore throat any advice? It’s more the anxiety I lost in my last pregnancy and that same time is around soon I’m just anxious as hell so being Ill it really scares me 😩

LavenderSweetPea · 05/10/2023 12:48

@Shrillwaffle did you take a covid test? Totally makes sense that this would be a particulaly anxious time for you :( I'm sure the sore throat is nothing serious, but keep an eye on it and your temperature just so you know nothing is too wrong.

I had covid a couple of weeks ago, and I felt horrible, but I did find hot ribena seemed to soothe the throat.

Cheetocat · 05/10/2023 13:12

I have a serious case of baby brain, embarrassing, somehow convinced myself that I was 21 weeks along but I'm 20, no idea how I managed that.

Shrillwaffle · 05/10/2023 14:01

@LavenderSweetPea i think I will if I feel no better tomorrow. Do you feel better now? What did they say to you in regards to covid and pregnancy? Like is there a point you should go in to be checked?

Kelb79 · 05/10/2023 14:56

Had our 20 week scan this morning and everything is perfect!!! I’m soooo relieved!! 😅😅
we resisted the temptation to find out the sex but if anyone wants to make a guess I’m loving the guessing!!!
Check out the massive foot!! 😂😂

@Kelb79 I'm guessing girl!

@Shrillwaffle yeah all better now. I didn't actually contact the Dr, I decided based on online research that essentially there's not much to be done unless your having a fever/getting dehydrated (or of course your struggling to breathe or whatever). I just kept taking my temperature but it never went particularly high so I just managed at home with strepsils and paracetamol. If temp had been getting high tbh I would have bipassed the gp and gone straight to urgent care to be checked over

anony1111 · 05/10/2023 15:40

I had my 20 week scan today, everything with baby is fine. I have a low lying placenta so I'm back for another scan at 32 weeks to see if it has moved.

Here's a photo of my little BOY 💙💙

Is anyone else really struggling appetite wise.
I can't really stomach a lot, I think it's based on the fact that when I've been sick it's been night time after meals I used to enjoy so it's sort of put me off a lot of foods.

I'd happily have only toast for all my meals if I had my way but of course I'm trying not to eat so little cos of course I have little man to think about.

Hayley0203 · 05/10/2023 16:12

@Shrillwaffle I had covid a few weeks ago and quite severely, I called my midwife and was then looked after on the ward with IV fluids until my tests showed less dehydration and my temperature came down a bit. The babies are big enough to be monitored with a doppler now which they also said they would do in the case of covid, however at the time I was one week out of the doppler range. Hope that's helpful xx

Lovely to see the scans!

@Shrillwaffle I had Covid, the midwife said there isn't much they can do unless you become very unwell with it. They just said to try to keep temp low with paracetamol, and drink lots of fluids.

Shrillwaffle · 05/10/2023 17:46

Thankyou for the advice everyone 🙏🏻 I will just monitor my temperature and rest as much as I can

mummylove24 · 05/10/2023 18:57

It’s official scan day OMG we’re all having scans today 😂😂
I had my 20-week scan this afternoon, but baby was not interested 😅 and wouldn’t turn around so I have to go back next week for a rescan but…..

IT’S A GIRL 💕💖💗💞💓🥹

mummylove24 · 05/10/2023 19:03

@CheeseAndCrackersx me too, I crave something, take two bits and I’m full up!! I can go hours without eating now, before hunger made me nauseous but I drink plenty of water though, I’m having to force myself to eat even just small portions🥺

Shrillwaffle · 05/10/2023 20:09

@mummylove24 congratulations!! 🥰🥰💖💖

LavenderSweetPea · 05/10/2023 20:27

@mummylove24 and @anony1111 congratulations both on your scans!! 💓💙

I've had an exciting evening, I've been feeling baby move for a little bit now, but today DH felt him move too 😄 such an amazing thing. After everything it took to get here I didn't think we'd ever get that special moment and I can't believe it finally happened!

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 05/10/2023 22:08

Ladies.. any of you suffering with a cold? 😫 my gosh I feel sh*te!! Starting to get a headache :( x

CheeseAndCrackersx · 05/10/2023 22:14

Are we able to buy something for constipation or do we have to get it from the dr?

Kelb79 · 05/10/2023 22:46

@CheeseAndCrackersx yep to the serious lack of appetite! There’s nothing at all I want and when I do eat I’m full so quickly it’s unreal!!
sickness came back a bit again today too!! 😐 meh!!
so much for eating for two!! 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/10/2023 06:57

@CheeseAndCrackersx I've always asked them pharmacist what's pregnancy safe and they've helped me

Kilminchy123 · 06/10/2023 07:55

Hey guys just wondering if anyone else is feeling proper movement yet? I’m 19 weeks and feeling next to nothing the very odd tap which could really be wind. This is my second pregnancy I have anterior placenta so maybe that’s it. My bump is also almost non existent which is bizarre as with my son at this time I had a proper little bump. I’m carrying a girl this time. Just confused 😂 had a scan 2 weeks ago and all was well have my anatomy scan in 2 weeks xx

Yeah I'm feeling movements, I had an anterior with my first and I was about 22/23 when I felt my first kick.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/10/2023 09:17

@Kilminchy123 yes I'm feeling movements at 22 weeks with an anterior placenta. But it's only in the last couple of weeks they've become definite bigger movements.

Totally different to my experience with my son (posterior placenta) when I had definite movements from about 16 weeks

BabyKing20 · 06/10/2023 09:43

@Kilminchy123 I am 20 weeks since yesterday and haven’t felt any real movement at all 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not worried yet as it was the same on my son. I know it’s different for everyone but I think it’s from 28 weeks they say you should be noticing an obvious kick pattern.

On another note, I am having massive headaches the last two, three days and it’s freaking me out, I don’t usually suffer from them. Is any body else having headaches?
