@BabyKing20 I've been having headaches for three days too, it's making me feel so drained!

BabyKing20 · 06/10/2023 13:11

@Cheetocat oh no, I’m sorry to hear it! it’s really awful isn’t it!? It’s sending me into a bit of a spin with my thoughts, wondering if there is something wrong.. hoping they don’t continue much longer!!

I'm thinking it's still a big adjustment for my body, pumping extra blood and to a new place and such, plus my sleep hasn't been very restful. Hopefully we get a break soon x

Hey ladies!

has anyone got any recommendations on podcasts or books about hypnobirthing etc?

my first baby, i ended up having an emcs after a failed induction and under no circumstances do I want to be induced again. I have already told my consultant I am leaning towards and elcs this time BUT I really would love a vbac but just so traumatised with the failed induction. For context, i was induced at 39 weeks as she was a ‘big baby’ - no actual medical reason and me being a anxious ftm i went along with the induction!🙈😢

this is my 2nd and last baby and the only thing putting me off is the recovery of a ccection (this time with a toddler who will be 22months when feb 24 baby arrives!) And i gave up bf after a few days cuz of how overwhelmed i was becoming a mum, the pain, the blood loss etc so think i should try for a vbac if i can get into labour naturally!

sorry for the long post!

19 weeks, second pregnancy, posterior placenta and still haven't felt anything. Was told it's normal and should feel
Something soon.

mumtotwox · 06/10/2023 17:32

@PeeBeee Positive Birth Company

Shrillwaffle · 06/10/2023 18:08

@Kilminchy123 ive felt movement for the last 3/4 weeks (I’m 22 weeks) they did say where I placenta was but I can’t remember now I’ll have to ask at the next appointment. The past week though they’ve been more regular and stronger I can feel definite punches/kicks and swirling around

I’m sorry I don’t have any hypnobirthing tips except for Positive Birth Company content which I followed last time. But just wanted to say, your post is basically word for word my situation. Literally everything you’ve said! Will also have a 22 month old to deal with after the birth too 😅 have they told you when you have to decide between vbac vs elcs? No one’s asked about my birth plans yet, which I’m glad of because I have no clue which I’m going to do.

Ihatewinding · 06/10/2023 18:22

I'm 22 weeks and weirdly didn't really have proper movements until after my 20 week scan where they thought I might have low lying placenta (anterior as well) and had to press really hard and do all sorts of positions, which set off 2 days of near constant Braxton Hicks, and then just started feeling proper movements 🤷🏻‍♀️ thankfully 4mm from the cut off! Though wouldn't have minded a free NHS scan at 32 weeks haha, most placentas move, especially if anterior so wasn't too stressed. Going to just pay for a private one around then anyway I think

PeeBeee · 06/10/2023 18:47

@User0224 hi👋🏼😅

I had a 16 week consultation apt at 16+6 and it was the most rushed apt so far😅she did a scan but as soon as she seen heartbeat, she finished up and that was it then said have you thought about the birth and she said I could discuss more indepth at 28 week apt and told me to request my birth notes at the desk so they are ready for consultant to review at 28w, i am assuming its for them to get clued up why there was an emergency cesarian in the first place!

CharXo · 06/10/2023 20:40

Hi ladies

Is anyone else’s movement still really low? I thought little one would have moved a bit higher but he is still kicking so low down!

LavenderSweetPea · 06/10/2023 21:12

@CharXo I'm feeling the kicks regularly, and quite strong but yes they are all really low

CheeseAndCrackersx · 06/10/2023 21:36

@CharXo regular movements but yeah defo lower than I thought they would be at 21 weeks. He must enjoy booting my pelvis too much to move up 😂

anony1111 · 06/10/2023 22:08

@Ihatewinding I have an anterior and low lying placenta too, I have to go back at 32 weeks for them to check it has moved up and to see a doctor.
I'm praying it moves!

Shrillwaffle · 06/10/2023 22:23

@CharXo lowish yes and she loves bumping into my bladder; I constantly need to pee 😅

Ihatewinding · 06/10/2023 22:29

@anony1111 fingers crossed and you just get to enjoy seeing your little one again ☺️ its 90% likely to move which seems good odds to me! Think previous C section does reduce likelihood of moving, can't remember if that's the case with you? I did a load of googling in the half hour I was sent away before rescanning 🙈
I remember with anterior placenta last time I had like a blind spot where never had movements until much later on when baby moving and wriggling properly, doesn't seem to be the case this time so wonder if that's as lying on the lower side 🤔

CheeseAndCrackersx · 06/10/2023 23:22

@Shrillwaffle agree with the constant need to pee 😄

I lie there at night and he's wriggling away then next min I'm off to the toilet 😄

Mangotango39 · 07/10/2023 02:51

I have not posted in a few days as I was been complete shook to be honest.

We were told all looked fine at our 20 week scan but then Tuesday I had more bleeding (not unusual for me!) but went to birth suite as instructed by my midwife and all looked well inc scan at bedside, cervix etc. They chased up my 20 week scan report and they then told us there were soft markers identified.
I honestly just burst into tears. There is 3 things of concern plus cord is straight in some areas instead of coiled.

I have another scan Wednesday to recheck everything and I'm just really trying to stay positive best I can. Down syndrome was mentioned.
Keeping busy but I didn't work the rest of the week as I couldn't concentrate, plan to work Monday from home :(

anyone else ever had similar?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/10/2023 06:52

@Mangotango39 I'm so so sorry that's so stressful. Did they say what the soft markers were? Have you had the nipt?

I had short femurs and long bones in arms with my son - it was flagged up at 28 weeks. Downs and skeletal dysplasia were mentioned, but I'd had the nipt, so they ruled out Downs. We had several scans and were referred to fetal medicine unit, but actually when he was born all was fine. But I remember how incredibly stressful and awful that time was, doing huge amounts of research and being scanned every two weeks, and yet no one could tell me what anything actually meant until he was here.

Mangotango39 · 07/10/2023 06:57

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 we chose not to do the test and now obviously wishing to turn back the clock as maybe we'd feel more secure.
The items are really confusing and no one could tell us much till next week .

Notes are:

  • 4 mm right renal pelvis noted
  • 5.7 mm thickening of the nuchal fold
  • umbilical cord shows segments of straightening
  • a lateral ventricle measures 10 mm with dangling choroid plexus.

No discrete fetal anomalies identified.

Just feel so so worried!

mummylove24 · 07/10/2023 08:09

@Kelb79 @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 no more stairs for me, I have to take lifts now, at train stations and the hospital, just 1 flight of stairs and it’s like I’ve ran a marathon. Lucky I live on the ground floor 😂

mummylove24 · 07/10/2023 08:10

@Cheetocat my baby brain is so real, I have a notebook I walk around with and task list app in my phone otherwise I forget everything 🥹

mummylove24 · 07/10/2023 08:18

CharXo · 06/10/2023 20:40

Hi ladies

Is anyone else’s movement still really low? I thought little one would have moved a bit higher but he is still kicking so low down!

@CharXo yeah, its low down on my right side mainly, I’ve not really felt anywhere else 💖

Sunshineclouds11 · 07/10/2023 08:57

@CharXo Yes feeling really low!!

@Mangotango39 I'm so sorry! Did they not raise these with you at the scan? I thought they had to?!

Cheetocat · 07/10/2023 09:02

The movements I feel are super low too, I find it funny because my uterus is above my bellybutton now but baby still chooses to kick my bladder of all things x
