Does anyone mind sharing how much weight they have gained so far?

I have gained 2.5kg (20w+3) and midwife said today because I was already overweight anyway, they won't want to see more weight gain! Wtf!

I had a hungry phase for a week or two in the first trimester but now I'm not eating more then previously and quite healthy to be honest!

Today was...
breakfast - protein smoothie
lunch - tuna sandwich
dinner - chicken , salad, rice
snacks - yogurt and one biscuit
(Nighttime where I am so almost time for bed!)

they keep pushing a dietian but I don't want to start a diet. My bloods are all coming back really good , including the early gd , bp great and I'm generally having a healthy pregnancy . Feeling abit down after the convo!

@Mangotango39 the drink is awful isn't it. I'm dreading going back for it!

I've gained just over 8kg (coming up 22 weeks) and no one has mentioned a thing. I think it's just bump, fluid, placenta etc as it's just my tummy that's changed size. 2.5 kg is barely anything

PeeBeee · 02/10/2023 13:20

@Mangotango39 i have put on 7.7 kg😱

i was so sick at the start that beige and full fat coke is what got me through it but I am feeling much better now and using pregnancy as an excuse to eat crap so I joined Slimming World on Saturday to get me into eating healthy, I will have 2 under 2 come Feb so need to get my act together!!

you have gained nothing compared to what I have and the food diary you posted is healthy so I wouldnt take any notice of them pushing you not to gain any more weight! Surely weight gain is expected in the 3rd trimester! Xx

Ihatewinding · 02/10/2023 13:27

@Mangotango39
I have gained over 7kg since start, was bit overweight to start with, that was mainly from eating my way through the first trimester as only gained 1kg or so in past 2 months so not sure how much is baby, etc. now at also nearly 22 weeks.

I want to start getting a bit fitter but the PGP/SPD puts me off doing walks never mind proper exercise. The only good thing is it makes me less scared about baby getting stuck as pretty sure I'm going to get pubic bone separation again! My daughter was back to back and came out face up and I feel like the only reason I managed to birth vaginally is due to how bad the SPD and gap was😥slightly worried how well (or badly) I'm gonna be mobilising by the end of pregnancy though!

Gardenfingers23 · 02/10/2023 13:30

2.5kg doesn’t sound much at all! I’ve put on 6kg at 20w - started at 56kg and now 62kg. Seem to be pretty much adding 0.5kg a week which is pretty scary as im not eating loads and still exercising a fair bit. Guess everyone is different in terms of what they put on etc

Mangotango39 · 02/10/2023 14:00

I know - I thought 2.5kg was really low considering and I said this - but she said some overweight mothers loose weight during pregnancy . I am hardly massive by the way . Size 14 pre pregnancy !

Meeting · 02/10/2023 14:44

I've just gone to weigh myself to see how much I've put on (have been avoiding the scales completely) and the battery has gone! I feel like this is a sign not to worry about it. I was only ever weighed at my very first midwife appt and they haven't mentioned anything to do with weight since.

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 02/10/2023 14:51

from 13th July my weight was 68.7kg at booking appointment then weight got took again on 13th September & was 70.4kg so what's the difference ladies? 🤣 haven't had my weight took again since though xx

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 02/10/2023 14:55

@Mangotango39 size 14 isn't massive at all hun!! I'm still a size 12-14 currently like I was pre-pregnancy but I'm sure that will change as I get bigger & put more weight on, who cares? we are growing a human at the end of day arent we! & this is my 5th pregnancy so I don't expect to be a size 8-10 anymore or ever again like I was prior to having children 🤣 it is what it is! Think your miwife sounds rather rude if im honest! x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 02/10/2023 14:56

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX you have barely put any on either! Seems very variable.

I put on a HUGE amount last time, and I was back in my clothes within about a month. I'm genuinely not caring much this time.

I would be delighted with only 2.5kg on, so I wouldn't worry @Mangotango39. Are you in a country where people are very tiny?

LavenderSweetPea · 02/10/2023 15:29

I haven't been weighed since my booking in appointment but I'm dreading what it might be. If I'm honest I've just let any restraint for snacks go completely out the window. I know I shouldn't but it's not like I'm going to be winning any fitness contests any time soon anyway and it makes me happy 😁 or at least it does until I have my GD test!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 02/10/2023 15:30

I haven't been weighed since my booking appointment and I'd lost half a stone.
I was expecting the midwife to weigh me at my 16 week appointment but she didn't, maybe my consultant will tomorrow.
My dress size hasn't changed, I'm still the same just comfier in the maternity clothing.

My maternity belt came today, It's a dream. No hip pain when walking a lot 😀

Cheetocat · 02/10/2023 17:37

They're telling me not to gain anything either, I'm up 3kg at 21+2. I had a horrible time trying to eat in the first trimester and I'm finally enjoying food again but apparently I'm not supposed to. 🤣 I also forgot to say in my assumptions about BMI post the other day that the obstetrician has got me checking my own blood pressure at home every day and writing it down too.

I think I'm feeling baby movements but I can't tell for sure, it feels like a litte tap or pop on my cervix, is that way too low down? It seems to happen more when I need a wee but I'm thinking it could just be pressure from my bladder then?

MrsW9 · 02/10/2023 18:03

@CheetocatI will also have to record my own BP at home every day from 20 weeks. I don't have a high BMI or high BP but I do have another risk factor for preeclampsia, even though the issue hasn't been an active issue for some years now.

I have also been surprised by how low down some movements are!

I was just about to say this! My bump is SO low and so are the movements I’m feeling. It looks really quite odd in photos 😅 are you having a boy too by any chance?

Cheetocat · 02/10/2023 18:12

@MrsW9 Have you recorded your BP before? I'm a bit worried about forgetting days or not being consistent with the time I do it. Are you doing it once daily or every morning and night? Best of luck with it x

Cheetocat · 02/10/2023 18:16

@User0224 The obstetrician is pretty sure I'm having a boy, yeah, I didn't think that could make a difference! If this is movement I'm feeling then I'm really happy, I've been trying to coerce the little one into kicking me for a couple of weeks now. I think the top of my uterus is already above my bellybutton, my torso is very full looking, I love it, I feel so privileged to be carrying this little person!

DmcinT · 02/10/2023 19:10

@Mangotango39 that is really nothing to put on for the whole first half of pregnancy. I was pregnant jan-April and had 5kg on from that pregnancy. then got pregnant straight away in May again and have a little on but not sure how much. I’ve gone from a size 10 to a 12 though so deff have more weight on.

i really wouldn’t worry if i was u, your eating healthy, that’s all u can do ❤️

novamama · 02/10/2023 21:32

I started at 56kg and at 20+5 I was 63.5kg so 7.5kg. I can only wish to have gained 2.5kg. As previous mums mentioned, I had to continuously eat during my first trim so I put on 3kg in about 2 months alone 😅 I think I slowed down the pace a bit, but I am still gaining at least 0.5kg if not more every week.

BraveHeart91 · 03/10/2023 12:49

@Tilly18101 hi Tilly hope all is well how are you getting on with the babies ? X

Musicalitymum · 03/10/2023 16:18

What’s everyone doing about jabs? Is the whooping cough one something the midwife organises for us? Are you having flu and covid jabs too?

amyg1985 · 03/10/2023 16:34

@Musicalitymum I booked my Covid one online - you just tick the box on the nhs questionnaire to say you're pregnant. I wanted mine early because it seems to be doing the rounds and be a bit nasty at the moment.

My GP sent me a letter about the flu jab and offered me an appointment on a specific Saturday this month. However, when I went to my Covid jab they just asked if I wanted flu at the same time which was really handy. One in each arm!

On whooping cough, my midwife said I'd get a letter from my GP. However, she also said it chase them up after my 20 week scan because sometimes it can take a while (and they won't do it before the scan). On my list to sort!

Cheetocat · 03/10/2023 16:52

I think I'm getting my whooping cough jab tomorrow. Everything is starting to feel real now that I'm past half way, getting all my vaccines and tests organised and I have the anatomy scan next week! Very exciting stuff.

Earlier I was thinking about how 37 weeks basically counts as full term so it's only 15 weeks and 4 days away for me, that's not long at all! Of course I want baby to stay in as long as they need to but my mind is still racing.

I've even been looking at baby stuff on vinted today after a friend recommended it, seems very reasonable.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 03/10/2023 18:14

I've had to contact my drs about the whooping cough vaccine. Good job I asked or I'd have just been waiting for them to contact me 😄

Consultant appointment went fine today, didn't get weighed which I'm finding so strange that cos I'm high risk cos of my bmi I honestly thought they'd be weighing me all the time. But of course she did have to say that cos of my bmi I'm at risk of stillbirth and intervention at birth, but I knew that anyway from google 😄
Heard little man's heartbeat though which is always amazing to hear 🥰

& no uti this time 🥳 😂

Will see her in 11 weeks now. Madness! As that will be just before Xmas

Next/Growth scan at 28 weeks 😊

DmcinT · 03/10/2023 18:31

Have they been weighing everyone regularly? I got weighed at first appointment a few months ago but nothing since. I’m in every week with being high risk and I’m never weighed.
