@MummyTo4BoysXXXX I've always known it as fanny daggers too 🤣 I'm a northerner also!
What about later on when you get it in your bum too 😫🤣 bum daggers hasn't got the same ring to it though 😂

Kelb79 · 24/09/2023 23:41

Hahaaaa!!! I’ve totally been getting this and had zero idea what the hell it was!! 🫣 Loving fanny daggers!! 🤣 but seriously…. We get this in our bums too???? 😳🫣
butt blasts?? 😝

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 25/09/2023 00:18

@anony1111 haha yesss! Glad I'm not the only who has suffered with "bum daggers" too 😂 we definitely need to come up with a name for that one! Hmm 🤔

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 25/09/2023 00:19

@Kelb79 yes! Haven't you experienced them before? Same as fanny daggers but in your bum feeling 🤣😂

CheeseAndCrackersx · 25/09/2023 11:14

I think my sickness went away for a week (15-16), other than that every couple of days it likes to pop back. Was being sick this morning 🤢 now I'll feel rotten all day.

Meeting · 25/09/2023 12:08

Morning all, I'm 20+4 and really struggling to sleep at night. The pain in my hips during the night is unbearable and I'm now keeping DH up with my constant switching from left to right side. I've tried everything I can think of and I'm now suffering all day due to being so tired!

anony1111 · 25/09/2023 16:37

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX 🤣🤣🤣 thankfully only happened at the back end of my last pregnancy! Can't say I'm looking forward to them this time 😫
@Kelb79 oh yes it happens in the bum too unfortunately 😫 good old shooty bum 🤣

I have a confession.

I had my 20 week scan today, ended up caving and asking what baby is.. “it’s a boy” I couldn’t help but feel upset as I had my heart set on a girl.. well we all did. I know this sounds absurd and of course I’m extremely grateful that baby is happy and healthy.. but I think it doesn’t help because everyone around me has said “defo a girl this time, it’s def a girl”.

I know of course I will love our baby regardless of him being a boy I just feel a bit deflated and sad right now.. and then I feel guilty for feeling this way 😪

Mummapenguin20 · 25/09/2023 19:26

Ladies I’m in agony can pop star at 18ish weeks x

Tbh sweetheart I feel in a similar way, I have my heart set on a boy but I'm preparing myself to be told a girl just incase.
I find out Thursday.

Don't be hard on yourself, you'll soon get your head around it I'm sure x sending you a hug x

Shrillwaffle · 25/09/2023 19:49

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX i also second the term fanny daggers 🙋🏻‍♀️ and I have also felt them my husband thought the term was hilarious

Nemo145 · 25/09/2023 21:43

20 week scan today confirmed a boy for me.

Also confirmed I’m going to need a stitch as cervix is now 2.4cm.
@DmcinT how are you getting on following the stitch?
I know I need it but I’m worried firstly about the procedure and secondly about how long it will hold.

Ebonythoughts · 25/09/2023 22:05

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well. I’ve missed the thread for a couple of weeks but so lovely to read the sex reveals and the positive 20 weeks scans. Feels surreal that we are halfway through 😳

I’ve got my scan on Oct 3rd but had a private gender scan which said girl so very excited.

Anyone else experiencing indigestion? I’ve been getting it for the past 3 nights and it keeps me up all night.

Shrillwaffle · 25/09/2023 23:18

@Nemo145 congratulations my dear 💙
@Ebonythoughts congrats I’m also having a girl 💕 and yes gaviscon is a life saver atm

Ebonythoughts · 26/09/2023 05:45

@Shrillwaffle thank you, congrats too! And it definitely is. I guess this is the fun part of trimester 2 lol

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/09/2023 07:19

What an awful night.
Either uncomfortable bump or needing a wee 🙈

User0224 · 26/09/2023 11:08

So jealous everyone’s having their 20 week scans already! Mines not until the bloody 16th. Even though I already know it’s a boy…just want confirmation he’s growing okay 😅

Never heard of bum daggers before but have had some fanny daggers already for sure! They were killer by the third trimester in my last pregnancy.

amyg1985 · 26/09/2023 12:00

Had my 20 week scan this morning - all fine 🥰 - isn't it amazing how much you can see?! I couldn't believe how different it was from the 12 week scan. We're still keeping the sex a surprise. Both of us unconsciously refer to baby as "he" though.

I've been told 20 weeks is when sleep starts to get more difficult @CheeseAndCrackersx - definitely seems that way for me, judging by the last few nights. I am angry with my husband who has been snoring and (I feel) showing off, whilst I lie there uncomfortable. Hopefully we'll adjust and get some sleep soon. The sofa feels more comfortable to me so might be an afternoon nap situation whilst I work from home.

Been reading back over the thread and completely agree about the bump size - I have just been feeling a bit fat for the last week but today my bump suddenly feels huge!!

LavenderSweetPea · 26/09/2023 15:28

Congrats to everyone who has had their scans! I've got mine on Friday and I'm just so nervous.

Kelb79 · 26/09/2023 15:33

hey lovelies, are bump aches normal right now? 🤔🤔

undercoverhero74 · 26/09/2023 16:12

@User0224 ah Mate! Mine isn't until the 13th so feels like ages away too!
Like you I just want that reassurance she is growing just perfectly!

Haha agonising waiting isn’t it! Do you feel any movement yet?

DmcinT · 26/09/2023 18:11

@Nemo145 congrats on the boy🥳 and sorry to see uve shortened❤️ I know the worry beforehand, how long do u have to wait to have it done? I’m doing good since having it done, the first week I was very tender/uncomfortable but since that I’m kinda back to ‘normal’ I find sitting or standing for too long can be painful so just have to make sure I’m balancing both.

They’ll go through all this with u but u can’t swim, go to gym, run, walk fast etc… but by not doing all that your giving urself the best chance of it holding 🤞🏽 They did say it’s very successful but usually women go into labour once it’s removed (due to the added pressure & lack of support)

lovely to see so many having their 20 week scan. It’s called a 21 week scan here so I’ve to wait until next week for mine 😫😂 I kinda can’t believe we’re half way🥰❤️ It fills me with so much hope

FTMCHD · 26/09/2023 19:08

I had my Fetal echo yesterday and both babies seemed to have healthy hearts with no major defects. They are going to rescan at 28 weeks but it feels like such a relief. Got my 20 scan tomorrow and I’m so excited to see the babies again!
