@Mangotango39 fine for it not to be regular until 26 weeks+. I worry too but it's normal, there's so much room for them to move in there still.

Pleased you've said this as last two days I've felt the odd thing but not as much as previous days.
I feel she's moved and no feeling as much!

Havanalily1806 · 20/09/2023 12:42

@Sunshineclouds11 I was like this, late last week it felt so strong I'm sure my OH would have felt it from the outside too if we had caught it in time, then Sunday and Monday hardly anything.

Had my scan yesterday and she was wriggling around all over, would not stay still, they struggled to get all the images. Felt a bit more yesterday but nothing like last week.

I definitely feel like she's moved a bit, when I could really feel it it was all lower down.

Sunshineclouds11 · 20/09/2023 16:45

@Havanalily1806 I'm always amazed at the scans how much they move and we can't feel them!

I've been feeling her lower down too!

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 20/09/2023 17:55

Also had 20 week scan today! Took nearly an hour and half as baby not cooperating and needed to go for a walk around and come back, glad I was booked off work for the whole afternoon in the end 😱

@Shrillwaffle your scan picture shows your full name and date of birth top left, you can report it to get it removed and repost with it blurred/cropped out? It's a fab picture too, much better quality than mine, despite the sonographer really trying!

Confirmed boy with a "third leg" as they called it, so NIPT correct haha.

Ihatewinding · 20/09/2023 20:07

Thanks for tagging me for the boy list @LavenderSweetPea 😊

Feels a lot more real now, next thing is to sort out Mat B1 form...

Sunshineclouds11 · 20/09/2023 20:35

So happy for you @MummyTo4BoysXXXX

Shrillwaffle · 20/09/2023 21:19

Shrillwaffle · 20/09/2023 23:15

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX does your girl play up everytime you have a scan too because mine does 😅 she was lying like away from the ultrasound most the time this was right at at end. I’ll repost the scan anonymously again 😅 have you thought of names? My baby is gonna be called Lena

Just a quick question about booking time off for appointments, my workplace won’t seem to let me have access to the policy but have told me I am entitled to time off, exactly how much time off can I take for an appointment?

e.g. I have an appointment at 8:40am and then want to book the rest of the day as annual leave, how many hours counts as antenatal leave allowance and how many hours do I use for annual leave?

Thanks! x

FTMCHD · 21/09/2023 07:28

@Clueless13 the law on it states that it should be reasonable time which includes anytime travelling to and from the appointment, not the most helpful thing in the world but hopefully you’ll be able to work out a rough estimate 😊

My work allow a half day for apps. Time to and from etc.

mumtotwox · 21/09/2023 10:15

@Clueless13 You definitely are allowed time off for all midwife appointments and scans. My boss is really lovely and gives me a full morning/afternoon off (paid) x

CheeseAndCrackersx · 21/09/2023 10:31

I just use my holidays for appointments, they did try to say that I could just have them as my days off but I know they wouldn't pay me for them as they apparently should do. Plus it's 1 way to use up most of my holidays before maternity leave.
If I have any appointments in December though I'll have to use them as days off as I work in retail we can't take holidays til after Xmas day 🙄

I would check this as isn't it law they have to pay you for maternity apps?!

Clueless13 · 21/09/2023 11:05

Thanks everyone! I’ll add it as AM appointment and PM as annual leave for now and see if they say anything, if they do I can just say I haven’t received a policy to state otherwise!

@CheeseAndCrackersx definitely look into this, you shouldn’t have to use annual leave or have to take it as unpaid or antenatal appointments!

Havanalily1806 · 21/09/2023 12:18

@Clueless13 by law, you are entitled to paid time off for antenatal appointments, this includes scans, pregnancy health checks, midwife appointments, pregnancy classes etc. it is explained as reasonable time off which is the duration of appointment and travel to and from.

Your partner is also entitled to time off to attend 2 appointments, up to 6.5 hours per appointment. This is unpaid, however they may have additional pay and usually this is included in any maternity/paternity family friendly policy of their work place.

Havanalily1806 · 21/09/2023 12:20

@CheeseAndCrackersx sorry I also should have included you in my message below.

You should NOT have to use annual leave. You are entitled to paid time off. If not already in a work policy, these guidelines are on gov.uk and acas and likely citizens advice

FTMCHD · 21/09/2023 13:01

@CheeseAndCrackersx i was told I’d either have to use annual leave or make the time back up but I just showed them the ACAS and citizens advice website and they quickly took that back as they can be done for discrimination if they don’t allow it, they are also not allowed to tell you that you can’t attend the appointment.
