Congrats! 💗 welcome to the girl club!

I also already have a son! Lovely to have one of each.

undercoverhero74 · 17/09/2023 06:11

@BabyKing20 I feel exactly the same! I am so used to being a boy mama the thought of a girl makes me a little nervous.
Our little boy has nicknamed baby "cupcake" since day 1 which is really cute. Bingo is just adorable!! A bluey fan by any chance 😂😂

@Sunshineclouds11 there seems to be a few on Team pink now. I think we are definitely outnumbering the boys

BabyKing20 · 17/09/2023 09:25

@undercoverhero74 Aw I think these nicknames are definitely going to stick no matter what we call them! 😂 And yep big bluey fan hahah!
I’m glad to hear ur kind of nervous too, I felt bad even saying it but I can’t help it. It’s going to be a totally new adventure isn’t it!

Morning all, just wondering how everyone is getting on with sleep and if anyone has tried any type of pregnancy pillow?

I'm really suffering at night with pain in my hips, even when I try sleeping with a pillow between my legs. I've been giving up on sleep at 5/6am and just getting up which makes me tired all day. It doesn't help that I'm a back sleeper and feel uncomfortable having to sleep on my side, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

mumtotwox · 17/09/2023 09:47

@Meeting Yes! Used a pregnancy pillow since 13 weeks and it's so good. I have the Bamibi one and I would highly recommend 😊 Hope you get some sleep soon x

MrsW9 · 17/09/2023 10:07

@Meeting I've been using a V-shaped pillow (that I already had) for a few weeks as I was getting some hip pain from around 11 weeks, which has definitely improved. I had wondered about getting a proper pregnancy pillow to stop me rolling onto my back, but I seem to be managing to change that habit so will probably just stick with the V pillow. I got it from John Lewis about five years ago, not expensive.

undercoverhero74 · 17/09/2023 10:19

@BabyKing20 I was so convinced I would have 2 boys it was a little bit of a shock. Now that's worn off although anxious I'm excited! I'm not the most girly girl so it will be a big adjustment. That said she may be more of a Tom boy anyway, who knows 😊

Oh definitely, this little girl is going to be forever known as cupcake 😂😂

Nemo145 · 17/09/2023 11:11

I feel like I’ve forgotten everything about having a baby with my daughter being 8 and it’s making me panic.
I’ve no idea what to do with a boy and doing it all on my own without Chris here is just so overwhelming.
My family and friends are being amazing but it doesn’t replace the baby’s Dad.
My daughter refers to the baby as little lemon as it was the size of a lemon when we told her we were expecting.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 17/09/2023 12:06

Just like the last time with a UTI, had no symptoms beforehand and was left was them once finished the antibiotics 🙄

Plus I'm unsure if another growth spurt is happening but had an aching pain at bottom of my bump all night. Where I've figured baby is.
Same as last weekend then it went for a few days and is happening again.

Proudgypsy · 17/09/2023 12:15

Thank you @mumtotwox I might give that one a go!

@MrsW9 I was struggling with rolling onto my back so DH has now been instructed to put me back on my side if he notices and he's taking that role very seriously 😂

It will all come back to you @Nemo145 I'm so glad everyone around you is being supportive

Kelb79 · 17/09/2023 13:11

@Nemo145 you’re in my thoughts so much ❤️ I’m so glad you’ve got a good set of family and friends supporting you through this and having your daughter already must keep you going when things feel insurmountable but pregnancy is tough at the best of times! Sending you all of my love xxxxx

@CheeseAndCrackersx I keep getting a similar pain, right at the bottom of my bump. Definitely feels like a stretching kind of pain 🤔 comes and goes but feels worse when I’ve been on my feet a lot!

im starting to feel like a bloody frog 🤣🤣
I’ve got these almost constant uncontrollable hiccup burp type things! Driving me mad!!! Anyone else getting this??

also… we bought a pram 😳😳 we most certainly hadn’t planned to at 17 weeks, long story, but the one we’d decided on randomly popped up at half price for an ex display model so we jumped at it! 🫣🫣 eeekk!!!!

Mangotango39 · 17/09/2023 13:52

Is anyone feeling any discomfort? I feel like something is stuck under my right side ribs , near the top. It's really paining me :(

Shrillwaffle · 17/09/2023 14:39

I feel as tho now I can feel movement I’m even more anxious 😬 because it’s not regular it terrifies me when I don’t feel anything. I’m still waiting on perinatal to see me :/ I was told I’d receive anxiety management for ptsd from my late lost last year but haven’t heard anything since 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I’ve been told I’m getting regular scans after 26 weeks, which is great!, but I lost at 24 weeks so over the next few weeks and atm I feel very lost and alone 😥 I’m starting to get excited about the reality of having a baby but then my mind goes to complete fear and almost trying to forget the excitement. Pregnancy is a minefield 🤯 I find this thread really helpful too just even to get my thoughts down with people going through the same thing 🙏🏻

LavenderSweetPea · 17/09/2023 15:27

@Nemo145 I'm so sorry for your loss, it's just unimaginable to have to go through the loss of a partner, but be assured you will be as great of a parent to your new little boy as I'm sure you have been to your daughter and you and your daughter will be able to tell him all about his daddy ❤️

Glad you family and friends are being the for you. Please make sure to check if you're eligible for a bereavement support payment if you haven't already - you don't have to have been married to qualify and hopefully the money will help you while you are on maternity leave. Xxx

CheeseAndCrackersx · 17/09/2023 15:45

I feel like I'm at the stage where my bump isn't big enough for my maternity knickers to be snug/comfortable but it's too big for my other knickers to fit on my tummy area 🤣

undercoverhero74 · 17/09/2023 17:06

Haha @CheeseAndCrackersx I'm exactly the same. I have resorted to wearing the lowest cut knickers I own so they sit under my bump. I can't remember this being a problem first time round 😂😂

Kelb79 · 17/09/2023 18:09

Haaa!! Yes, the pants thing is an issue for me too!! Mine keep rolling down 🫣 I saw some low cut maternity ones…. Think I’m gonna have to invest 🤣🤣

AllAboardTootToot · 17/09/2023 19:50

Another baby girl to join the ever growing list ❤️

Like you @undercoverhero74 , tomboy here too so praying she’s more football than footloose 😂😂

PeeBeee · 17/09/2023 20:54

Found out yesterday that we are also team girl💕

Proudgypsy · 18/09/2023 08:29

Is there a way to start a list of boys/girls/surprises, like the due date list?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 18/09/2023 08:53

@Nemo145 everything must feel so overwhelming right now. With your grief, and also your daughters, and all of the practicalities that're so arduous for when someone dies. Plus all of the thoughts of how it was meant to be, with your husband there with you as a team.

I think you'll be an amazing boy mum, just from all of the stuff you've written here. Anyone would feel how you do. Sending love, I've been thinking of you ❤️

Hi @HappyFeet63! I'm also due on the 12th Feb, though this is my first baby. It's very exciting to hear about sharing due dates with someone :)
