I've declined all jabs, was offered COVID, flu, whooping cough and I think one more but I can't remember what it was but not taking any of them x

mummylove24 · 14/09/2023 11:18

@Proudgypsy I’ve just been texted for a GP Flu jab appointment, which I’m not taking or any vaccinations while pregnant. (I’ve done my own research)

Kelb79 · 14/09/2023 12:03

I had my second midwife appointment and heard the heartbeat 💓💓💓 soooo amazing!! 😍 little one even kicked while we were listening so obviously a real stubborn little one telling us to go away 🤣🤣

@Clueless13 i spoke to midwife about movement. She said it’s perfectly normal to start feeling things and then go days with nothing at this point. From 25 weeks they expect you to feel movement every day and worry if you don’t but until then it’s sporadic 👌🏼

Vaccines…. I had whooping cough yesterday and I might get flu but im not going to get Covid - I’ve just read too many controversial things about it these days so it’s really made me unsure 😵‍💫

Mummapenguin20 · 14/09/2023 12:34

i heated baby today too. Feeling movements almost daily now (15+5) by there dates. (I know there wrong) baby also dosent like the Doppler and moves quickly away xxx

So strange how different areas say different things! I saw my midwife last week (17 weeks) and she was saying they don’t worry about movement until 28 weeks! I thought to myself that’s quite late?! She also said they don’t use the Doppler until further on which I found quite annoying as I was expecting to hear baby. It’s been 5 years since my last pregnancy and I’ve found so many things have changed!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 14/09/2023 13:03

I feel baby daily now, mostly at night or when sat leaning a little more to the left. & on Monday afternoon after I had the new hot chocolate in cafe Nero 😄
They ain't little flutters either, feeling very strong already.
Lastnight I actually felt 1 from the outside right against my hand.

I defo have a little gymnast in there 😄 amazing feeling!

DmcinT · 14/09/2023 15:48

Ah wow @CheeseAndCrackersx so lovey to have such solid movements. I’m still just getting flutters at night but they are consistent the last 2 weeks (I’m 18 now)

@Kelb79 lovely to have that reassurance❤️ How’s the sickness now?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/09/2023 16:01

I've had a baby before and I still can't decide if I'm feeling movements or little muscle twinges / digestive! I'm 19 weeks, and sure I felt my last baby at 16ish weeks. But I have an anterior placenta this time so maybe it just feels very different

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/09/2023 16:03

@CharXo yep I've always been told 26-28 weeks which I guess makes sense because they can't do a trace on baby until then. They do a trace to check for reduced movements

Anyone struggling with lack of motivation or any get up and go? Where's that magical sending trimester energy boost !

Still waiting… energy boost where?? (Lucky I WFH a lot) 😂

Proudgypsy · 14/09/2023 17:44

@mummylove24 me too I did a fair bit of research before making any decisions x

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't felt any movements yet, hoping to feel some soon

Kiwiburgh · 15/09/2023 01:35

I also haven't felt any movement yet but I didn't feel anything with ds1 until 22 weeks so not worried.
We're also joining team blue 💙 😁

Mangotango39 · 15/09/2023 05:14

How exciting all the genders coming in!

we should have been keeping a tally , boys, girls, surprises hehe

Clueless13 · 15/09/2023 06:43

@Kelb79 amazing you got to hear the heartbeat ❤️

Thanks for checking with your midwife about baby movements, it’s reassuring to know! I’ve got a scan in 2 weeks, it can’t come fast enough 😩

We're planning to tell family about the pregnancy after my 20 week scan but my anxiety keeps taking over! I’ve decided to only tell family and not tell my friends until baby is born, I’m not sure if that’s being a little unfair and if I’ll have some upset friends that I didn’t tell them whilst I was pregnant!

LavenderSweetPea · 15/09/2023 07:57

Turns out I won't need that COVID vaccine after all. I feel like total crap so I took a test and DH and I both have it :(

Congratulations @Kiwiburgh on your little boy!

novamama · 15/09/2023 09:30

I am 18 weeks now and I also started to feel movements on off for 2 weeks now. It's sooo heartwarming.

Regarding vaccines, I was so far offered whooping cough which I'm definitely going to take, as these antibodies really protect our little ones up until they can have their own.

I haven't yet been offered flu nor covid, but I'll take them both. For anyone researching vaccines, as a scientist myself, I strongly recommend you to read actual scientific literature out there, and not obscure news articles.

Here is a recent Lancet study (www.thelancet.com/journals/landig/article/PIIS2589-7500(23)00093-6/fulltext ) that investigated the outcomes of COVID vaccines in pregnancy, if you find it useful, and the main take home message: "COVID-19 rates were even lower in boosted people (3·2%) compared with vaccinated unboosted matched people (5·6%; p<0·0001). Vaccinated people were also less likely to have a preterm birth (7·9%; p<0·0001), stillbirth (0·3%; p<0·0002), or very low birthweight neonate (1·0%; p<0·0001) compared with unvaccinated matched people (preterm birth 9·4%; stillbirth 0·6%; very low birthweight 1·5%). Boosted people were less likely to have a stillbirth (0·3%; p<0·025) and have no differences in rates of preterm birth (7·6%; p=0·090) or very low birthweight neonates (0·8%; p=0·092) compared with vaccinated unboosted matched people (stillbirth 0·5%; preterm birth 8·4%; very low birthweight 1·1%).

Been a bit absent recently! We are in the middle of moving house and it’s all a bit chaotic

undercoverhero74 · 16/09/2023 19:09

So early glimpse was absolutely correct! We are expecting a lovely little girl! I already have a boy so it's just the dream come true 🥰

BabyKing20 · 16/09/2023 21:03

Exact same here. Early glimpse were right for me too! We just Found out today we are having a little girl, our 3 year old boy is so so happy! He has named her Bingo, haha.
Me on the other hand, I’m a little bit nervous 😂 excited of course, but so used to having a boy now, can’t imagine life with a girl! 😄
