I'm currently 11dpo. Had a two faint positives yesterday followed by a positive clear blue this morning. This will hopefully be my second pregnancy due around 14th May by dates. Just wondered if anybody wanted to share the journey, symptoms and advice 🥰

I just wanted to pop on and say I'm sorry to hear some of you are having a rough time of it. I hope things get better. I've very few symptoms today, which is always a bit of a worry.

IVFAlone · 07/10/2023 07:12

@UnderstatedElegance how far along are you? I’m 8w2d and I’m not feeling many symptoms either..

junebuglb · 07/10/2023 11:13

@UnderstatedElegance @IVFAlone same here, it can be worrying but trying to stay level headed. Also 8wk2days. I do remember feeling fine for a couple of days last week too so assuming it just comes and goes. So so sorry to everyone that is having it really rough, too. It’s such a double edged sword ! x

PeppedUp · 07/10/2023 11:29

I was just worrying this morning about how I hadn’t had any symptoms since Monday and then I suddenly threw up out of nowhere :-/ I’m 7 weeks today

UnderstatedElegance · 07/10/2023 13:06

@IVFAlone I'm 7 weeks and 1 day. My symptoms initially were very strong. I wonder if I'm just getting used to them.

Sophie721 · 07/10/2023 13:34

My symptoms disappeared so I had an early scan last week and baby was just giving me a little break. I’ve got the worst back ache this week though, worst symptom I’ve had so far!

Sandy2323 · 07/10/2023 13:38

I'm very nauseous and vomited quite often over last week yesterday I felt great compared to last few days I got scared went to see my doctor she did scan strong heartbeat she said to enjoy as baby is just giving break , and she was right today back to full on nausea can't get out of bed 😩

beatrice89 · 07/10/2023 16:35

Thanks to those mamas who replied to me yesterday. I was in a dark hole but today I feel much better and actually felt better yesterday afternoon.

Currently drinking homemade ginger tea and eating popcorn on the sofa with my 4 year old. We've been to Asda for lunch lol

Little wins 🥇

How is everyone feeling? X x

Nelliepledge · 07/10/2023 20:13

Hey gang! After a previous ectopic we had a very nervous early scan on Friday and baby was in the right place, measuring at 6 weeks and a little heart flickering away. We were over the moon, didn't think we would ever hear the words "it's good news" from that chair. Also have minimal symptoms too which makes me worry but I'm sure I'd always find something to worry about. Hope you're all okay sorry to hear some of you are struggling with sickness x x x

TheBirdintheCave · 07/10/2023 20:34

@Nelliepledge That's great :) Congratulations!

Nelliepledge · 07/10/2023 20:43

Thanks so much! How are you doing lovely?x x

LBNM19 · 07/10/2023 21:47

@LondonGirl1992 I really feel for you! It is so unpleasant to bleed like that during pregnancy. I remember feeling constantly worried.

I have been reading through so comments and have similar feelings and feeling really sad and down. I’ve suffered with mental health issues a lot of the years and this is making me worried.

I should feel happy.

TheBirdintheCave · 07/10/2023 21:49

@Nelliepledge I'm ok, just dealing with nausea every day. Fortunately I have an excellent husband and he has been doing the lions share of the chores (including looking after the toddler) and bringing me snacks 😬

newbie2788 · 08/10/2023 09:48

Just thought I'd join this thread, due May 17. 8 weeks 2 days today. Good to see I'm not the only one feeling down and irritable! Though sorry others are feeling this way too Flowers

tmads · 08/10/2023 10:29

Hey first timer here 😊👋🏻

Currently just over 6 weeks so EDD late May. Was really reassuring reading through this thread and seeing people going through similar things 🩷

Mood swings are all over the place and the anxiety can get really bad so just trying to stay positive 😅

IBD sufferer too and just hoping i can keep it under control throughout the pregnancy so i don't impact the baby, it usually flares with hormones 🫠

If anyone has any recommendations for the bloating I'm all ears!

Nice to be a part of this with you all 🥰

slowsundays · 08/10/2023 15:27

I've had to take my nipple piercings out early as my boobs are so sore. I was planning to later on for breastfeeding but I think they'll totally heal up now and I'll never get them re-done.

8+2 today and symptoms are light as they were with previous pregnancies so normal for me but I'm always second guessing them. I'm dreading something going wrong. Next scan isn't until the NIPT at 11 weeks (Halloween) so I'm trying to hold out and not book another private scan in between to see baby again.

Holdmysunhat · 08/10/2023 18:23

Hey @slowsundays 👋 Would you mind if I ask why you’re having a NIPT at 11 weeks rather than going through the NHS at 12? I’m assuming you’re in the UK - maybe you’re not. Totally understand if you’d prefer not to answer and no probs :)

I’m definitely getting a private NIPT no matter my result on the 12 weeker but debating whether to get it done before or after the 12 week NHS and was wondering if there’s a benefit to doing it at 11 weeks. I guess I might qualify on the NHS for an NIPT anyway so would rather save the £400 if that’s the case. But also thinking any NHS referral might take a while and it might be better to know sooner and have all information upfront before the 12 weeks. I’m quite undecided!

TheBirdintheCave · 08/10/2023 18:29

@Holdmysunhat We're getting ours done at 10 weeks as we're having a private scan at the same time and they offered a kind of package deal.

rachlive · 08/10/2023 18:36

@TheBirdintheCave @Holdmysunhat I have been debating whether to wait for NHS screening results and see if they offer nipt after for just get it done at 10 weeks. I am a bit worried about leaving it longer so may just go private at 10 weeks.

Sophie721 · 08/10/2023 18:39

The NHS have organised my NIPT for 27th October when I’m 11 weeks. Not sure why they’ve done it a week early but I’m not going to complain x

Holdmysunhat · 08/10/2023 18:48

Thanks @Sophie721 that makes sense

rachlive · 08/10/2023 19:02

Oh I don’t think I get nipt screening where I am from in the uk. I think it’s just the standard combined testing. But I don’t know if that comes back high risk, if you then get offered the nipt.

Holdmysunhat · 08/10/2023 19:25

In my area @rachlive you have to get a certain score on the first diagnostic (maybe higher than a 1/200 chance or something) to qualify for the NIPT on the NHS.

I didn’t bother getting the NIPT in my last pregnancy but I’m going to get it this time.

slowsundays · 08/10/2023 19:44

@Holdmysunhat In Wales we don't have the NIPT as standard and even after a high likelihood on the screening tests, our trust doesn't offer them and only the amniocentesis. It varies wildly trust to trust.

I'm doing it privately as we get a scan too and I can find out the sex. It's worth a couple of hundred for us to have all of that together and that peace of mind as results are back quickly and if something were to be wrong, we'd have more time for options.

Holdmysunhat · 08/10/2023 20:15

Thanks @slowsundays I didn’t know that. I have lived in Wales most of my life actually but now in the north of England. Though I once read from a book that CVS/anmiocesis is nowhere near as risky as the outdated stats would suggest as the tech now allows them to see the baby’s movement exactly - so maybe that’s their reasoning.

Great you’ll have all the info so quickly anyway. Seems way preferable to waiting for a diagnostic and then waiting on results.
