I'm currently 11dpo. Had a two faint positives yesterday followed by a positive clear blue this morning. This will hopefully be my second pregnancy due around 14th May by dates. Just wondered if anybody wanted to share the journey, symptoms and advice 🥰

@junebuglb I have only told 1 friend other than my OH so far. I don’t know when I am going to be ready to tell family. It’s not that they won’t be nice, but I do feel like they may make the odd comment/remark about my age etc and I feel quite sensitive to it and so I’m not sure I am ready for it at the moment.

Holdmysunhat · 02/10/2023 22:38

@slowsundays I’m ever so sorry to read this 💐💐

@MrsB2005 poor you. I know of quite a few 10year+ sibling age gaps where the sibling bond has been especially strong actually - it’s a different relationship but certainly no weaker for it

Meggan123 · 03/10/2023 01:06

@junebuglb I haven’t told a soul, which is weird for me as I’m such an oversharer usually. I got a BFP on the 21st December last year and naively told both mine and his parents plus his brother and my SIL plus a few friends, it was xmas time and we were excited to share… it turned out to be a chemical and I started bleeding 30th December! I felt very silly! So for that reason we are waiting for our scan/12 week mark. But I have def had urges to tell ppl but too scared to jinx it again! It’s also easier for me to keep a secret as we live abroad! Do what feels right for you!

MrsB2005 · 03/10/2023 07:07

Just wanted to pop on quickly to say thank you to each and every one of you that has messaged to offer reassurance etc, Im sure once bubs is here I will look back and wonder why I ever worried.

I guess, naively thought as this bub is very much wanted, we took over a year to decide if we wanted / should TTC that I would be over the moon with a BFP and whilst largely I am, I spend more time worrying that enjoying it atm.

Also, Im sure the "younger" me when expecting the others just went with flow, and didn't worry quite as much.

Anyway, I'm waffling again - just a huge thank you to everyone xx

Hi All,

Checking back in and great to see so many scans! Have my booking in appointment scheduled for 18th Oct and currently 8+1.

Had some days where I have felt awful and others where I have felt tired but have been able to carry on with day to day life, guessing this is normal? No sickness yet but nausea, a little cramping, tender boobs, very low on energy and unbelievably hungry! Does this sound normal?

sorry but don’t have anyone to talk to about symptoms etc until we tell family/friends after the 12 week scan

x

TheBirdintheCave · 03/10/2023 09:04

@Toda11 Yeah these are basically all of my symptoms :) The hunger combined with the nausea is just the worst part.

Nelliepledge · 03/10/2023 09:38

Hey gang, hope you're all okay and pleased to see all your scans 💜ttc first baby for the past year, had an ectopic in June which was managed conservatively with no intervention. Now pregnant again, 6 weeks tomorrow. Last pregnancy I bled from 4+6, had one sided pains and symptoms stopped almost overnight. I don't have many symptoms other than sore boobs and tiredness, havnt bled at all this time around. But get the occasional left sided twinge which is sending my head west 😄 early scan booked on Friday due to ectopic history, just so so anxious at the moment. Anybody else had one sided twinges or am I grasping at straws? Preparing for bad news at scan. Big love ladies this group is such a support xxxx

Exactly the same as me! Just had my 8+2 scan and was amazing! All the best for your scan!

TheBirdintheCave · 03/10/2023 09:51

@Nelliepledge Yes I had a lot of one sided twinges and was very worried but turns out it was just stretching pains and baby is in the right place :)

Toda11 · 03/10/2023 09:54

TheBirdintheCave · 03/10/2023 09:04

@Toda11 Yeah these are basically all of my symptoms :) The hunger combined with the nausea is just the worst part.

It’s a pain! Don’t want to eat but also really want to eat! Been having lots of plainer foods like jacket potato, pasta and ready salted crisps and that seems to help

Nelliepledge · 03/10/2023 10:05

Thank you that's really reassuring! Got everything crossed. How are you doing?xx

miamiamia869 · 03/10/2023 10:18

@Nelliepledge hiya I have the odd twinge or ache one side but it's been both sides. I read its stretching ect. No other symptoms really just sore boobs and tiredness I'm 6+5 . Good luck on your scan Xx

TheBirdintheCave · 03/10/2023 10:42

@Nelliepledge Not bad, just suffering with relentless nausea and hunger.

Aly1991 · 03/10/2023 12:06

@Nelliepledge

I wouldn't worry too much. I had left side twinges from 4+2 up to into 6 weeks. Even had a scan at 5+4 to make sure it wasn't ectopic, but it was just a cyst that side. They were annoying little twinges, but not particularly painful ones. Now at 7+3 baby has a good heartbeat and is growing well so far. They've given me an EDD of 18th May. :)

Nelliepledge · 03/10/2023 12:15

Ahhhhh thank you so much! That is honestly so reassuring and you've just reminded me that they also mentioned a left sided cyst when I had my ectopic scan so you've put my mind right at ease. Glad you're doing okay! How are you feeling?xxx

LBNM19 · 03/10/2023 12:38

@MrsB2005 I have started worrying too over the last few days, this baby is very much wanted but I’ve started panicking about everything.

How much my life is going to change again etc. my boys are that bit older now and feel like I am starting again.

My eldest son passed away age 7 in 2019 and I’ve also started to feel extremely guilty about how much my life has changed since his been gone and how fast life has moved on without him here.

Probably my hormones but it’s not a nice feeling.

MrsB2005 · 03/10/2023 12:52

@LBNM19 I'm so sorry to hear about your son ❤️.

Your son, will always be a part of you & your family, and I'm sure the new baby will get to know just how amazing his/her older brother was.

Makes me feel bad for moaning about my worries; you can always message me if you need too x

LBNM19 · 03/10/2023 12:59

@MrsB2005 don’t say that! We all have different worries doesn’t make yours any less.

You’re right he will always be part of our family. Xx

miamiamia869 · 03/10/2023 14:11

@LBNM19 oh I am so sorry to hear about you son. I can't even begin to imagine. Like said in a previous post he will always be part of your life and living in your heart forever. Go easy on yourself you have been through enough don't beat yourself up with guilt.

Take care

Aly1991 · 03/10/2023 15:22

All good. Much better now that I've seen a heartbeat for sure. It's amazing how much that relaxes you. A long way to go, but the best start possible, I suppose :)

IVFAlone · 03/10/2023 15:59

Hi all. I have a scan today at 7w5d - will it be an abdominal or transvaginal scan? What should I expect to see?

TheBirdintheCave · 03/10/2023 16:02

@IVFAlone

Likely transvaginal and what you'll see depends on the scan machine (some are clearer than others) and the skill of the sonographer. My baby at 7 weeks looked like a bean with arm and leg buds. At 7+5 I imagine it will start to look a little more baby shaped :)

I hope it goes well!

Twdfn123 · 03/10/2023 18:00

Just 7 weeks and this nausea is killing me. Is anyone else's just getting worse. I'm now throwing up everyday and don't want to eat anything 😭

TheBirdintheCave · 03/10/2023 18:07

@Twdfn123 It's definitely getting me down but I haven't thrown up yet. I think I only spontaneously vommed a few times with my son. Just trying to take it one day at a time.

Sorry to hear its getting you down too, I forgot how soul destroying it is to be nauseas 24/7...and then throwing a toddler in to the mix I just want to go to bed and sleep for 20 hours 🥲
