I'm currently 11dpo. Had a two faint positives yesterday followed by a positive clear blue this morning. This will hopefully be my second pregnancy due around 14th May by dates. Just wondered if anybody wanted to share the journey, symptoms and advice 🥰

Just back from my scan, measuring a few days behind what I thought so I’m now measuring 5+5..could only see gestational sac and yolk sac but better than nothing I suppose❤️ will rebook in 2 weeks time if all goes well!
hope everyone else’s scans go well today!

Dexnt15 · 25/09/2023 14:25

Hi everyone,
ive put off joining til now as didn’t want to jinx anything but have been following along with the thread!
I’m 7 weeks today due 13th May with my first baby. Feeling anxious everyday not helped by the lack of symptoms so far I think! Just feeling exhausted all the time, need to wee more frequently and slightly tender boobs!
Looking to book an early scan next week at 8 weeks to give me some reassurance!

Meggan123 · 25/09/2023 15:30

@Dexnt15 congrats hun, I’m just a little bit behind you at 6+2 today. No symptoms over here either but I think that’s just normal for some people! I’m going for scan at 8 weeks too, too scared to go too early and them say they can’t find anything! My anxiety would be too much!

Meggan123 · 25/09/2023 15:44

For the ladies that have had early scans, was it with your doctor for a particular reason? Or just a private reassurance scan? I keep debating on when and whether to have one but I’m scared to go too early as I think it can cause more anxiety. Like I could go for one today if I wanted and keep getting tempted but then stop myself incase its too early. Whats your advice? First pregnancy here and pretty anxious about everything.

Sandy2323 · 25/09/2023 15:47

@Meggan123 i Live in Dubai and I go privately as for me with my previous pregnancies I always went around 5 and the 6 weeks then 12

UnderstatedElegance · 25/09/2023 16:17

I got impatient and booked one for the 1st October. I'll be almost 7 weeks by then. I'm just hoping everything is okay.
Welcome to the group @Dexnt15 it's so nice to be able to chat to other mums to be, before any friends and family know.

Hi @Meggan123 - how early are you? Are you sure of your dates?
I had one last Weds, I was expecting to be around 7 weeks, it was arranged by the consultant I'll be seeing. I went to EPU and had the transvaginal scan, gestational and yolk sac were visible but no heartbeat as only measuring 5 and a half weeks, so apparently very common, not to see a heartbeat. They have rebooked me for a rescan on the 4th October which feels like forever away and made me highly anxious (although we are anxious anyway due to baby loss at 20 weeks last year and it being just over a year since babies funeral)

I guess, only you can decide if it's going to give you peace of mind knowing there is growth in the right place (ie not ectopic) or if you are too early / dates may be wrong would this cause you more worry?

Sending you lots of love and positive vibes xxx

Meggan123 · 25/09/2023 16:39

@neverenoughwine sorry to hear about your loss. I’m 6+2, fairly sure of my dates as my periods are very regular and I tracked ovulation with OPKs. I think I’m leaning towards waiting until 8 weeks to be safe.

LBNM19 · 25/09/2023 16:41

The hospital called and said my blood levels from today are looking good and my hCG is 1143 (5+3) she said you can’t usually see much on a scan until hCG is 1500. She did say that the most important thing is that they raise on Wednesday and to go Wednesday morning and she could potentially call me with the results Wednesday evening 🤞

LondonGirl1992 · 25/09/2023 16:51

Hey guys- for those of you who have had the first midwife appointment at 8-10 weeks, did you take your partner with you? My boyfriend is keen to come but I’m not sure what usual protocol is.

GemMamaMarie · 25/09/2023 16:53

Tested positive on Saturday 16th September, and I'm so excited!

I want an early reassurance scan but I'm so confused about dates (this is my first pregnancy!). First date of last period was 16th August however I'm pretty sure my date of ovulation was the 28th August. all the apps say I'm nearly 5 +6 weeks now, but based on date of ovulation I'm 4 weeks. So do I book in for the 7 week scan for based of date of period or date of ovulation??

My reason for wanting the scan early is partly because I have bad anxiety and want peace of mind but also because twins run in the family and I've just got this weird feeling it could be... 😮

MissTilly93 · 25/09/2023 17:07

I took my Partner to my booking appointment last and I will this time as they’ll ask questions about family history x

TheBirdintheCave · 25/09/2023 17:10

@GemMamaMarie Always by ovulation if you know it and change the date of your period to match.

dangermouse34 · 25/09/2023 18:05

Sadly in the end we lost ours 😥twice in one year has been tough

Meggan123 · 25/09/2023 18:49

@dangermouse34 so sorry! 😢 take care of yourself!!

TheBirdintheCave · 25/09/2023 19:12

@dangermouse34 I'm so sorry. I know firsthand how awful that is. Look after yourself and take time off work if you need to. I was off for a month the second time.

satellitesunshine · 25/09/2023 19:13

so sorry @dangermouse34 xx

satellitesunshine · 25/09/2023 19:14

those concerned about early scans at 5 weeks - we wouldn’t even consider scanning that early at my workplace as likelihood of seeing nothing is higher than the chance of seeing something so please don’t worry! even 6 weeks we try to push people to wait til 7

BabySmith24 · 25/09/2023 19:37

Felt nauseas and was sick twice last week, weekend wasn’t too bad as partner made me food and drink before I got out of bed, today I’ve had a little nausea but nothing like last week.. is this anything to be worried about? I’m 7 weeks tomorrow (26/09/23).

LBNM19 · 25/09/2023 19:38

@dangermouse34 sending lots of love ❤️

LBNM19 · 25/09/2023 19:39

@satellitesunshine that’s good to know. Thanks for sharing that xx

Sandy2323 · 25/09/2023 19:40

@dangermouse34 so sorry for your loss 😔

dangermouse34 · 25/09/2023 19:50

Thank you all x

LBNM19 · 25/09/2023 19:50

@nh93 Please let me know how your scan goes tomorrow. I’ve just been reading back and I’ve had the same experience as you today and nothing seen on my scan at 5+3.

How did your second lot of blood tests go?

Meggan123 · 25/09/2023 19:51

@satellitesunshine thank you for this! I‘m going to wait until 8weeks to be safe!
