I'm currently 11dpo. Had a two faint positives yesterday followed by a positive clear blue this morning. This will hopefully be my second pregnancy due around 14th May by dates. Just wondered if anybody wanted to share the journey, symptoms and advice 🥰

@Meggan123 thats a great idea - at 8 weeks baby will actually start to look like a baby and have little arm/leg buds and an actual head/body shape rather than just being a little blob!

GratefulMum10 · 25/09/2023 20:38

@dangermouse34 so so sorry. Make sure you take time for yourself. Sending lots of love and good wishes ahead x

Sam890 · 25/09/2023 21:21

I've booked in for a early scan at 8 weeks due to needing to rearrange my hen party which was supposed to be start of November and move our wedding which is meant to be in March!
The 8th March feels a very long time away though!

Holdmysunhat · 25/09/2023 21:57

@dangermouse34 Sending you good thoughts and all my best wishes. I hope you take all the time you need 💐💐

Hi everyone, I had my progesterone levels taken yesterday and got a call this morning
to say they are 33 and they were looking for anything above 20. I’ve had a google but can’t find much does anyone know why they take progesterone levels and what they indicate?

csingleton · 26/09/2023 09:48

Hello everyone! My friend recommended this page and I came across this thread! I am due on the 13th of May!

This is my first pregnancy and I am super nervous but also excited. Had an early scan not long after I found out at 6 weeks one day. The heart beat was there already and was really reassuring. Have an 8 week scan on Monday!

So far my breasts are sore, I am rather constipated and a little fussy with foods! How is everyone else feeling?

Hey guys- for those of you who have had the first midwife appointment at 8-10 weeks, did you take your partner with you? My boyfriend is keen to come but I’m not sure what usual protocol is.

There were maybe 3/4 dads when I went for booking in yesterday. If he's keen I'd take him but it's nothing too exciting. He can answer the questions about his family's health though which saves you having to remember.

BVsMum · 26/09/2023 11:09

Are symptoms much worse with second pregnancy? I don’t remember feeling as bad with my first as I am right now. Only 5 weeks in and already contemplating taking time off work. Is this normal?

Judethepud · 26/09/2023 11:22

Nausea has well and truly hit me the last couple of days 🤢

This is my second pregnancy and my symptoms are worse than the first too. I had very little symptoms the first time, this time I've got about most symptoms going other than physically being sick.

@nh93 Please let me know how your scan goes tomorrow. I’ve just been reading back and I’ve had the same experience as you today and nothing seen on my scan at 5+3.

How did your second lot of blood tests go?

hey. just got back from my scan - they saw the pregnancy sac but not yolk yet and took me back a week to 5 weeks (according to my period i'm 6+2) today
so i've gotta go back next week Tuesday for another scan
fingers crossed they see something inside
but i'm now getting a little worried as i've had cramps on and off
just really fed up of this x
did you have your scan yet?

LBNM19 · 26/09/2023 12:31

@nh93 I would be feeling fed up to, early pregnancy is such a stressful time!

It is good that they saw some progress too.

No my scan was only yesterday I’m meant to be 5+3 but they saw nothing.

I am now waiting on second hCG results which are being taken tomorrow morning.

Did you have bloods to check for you hCG rising and progesterone?

@BVsMum I am 5 weeks and actually off work this week. I feel so run down and exhausted. This is my 5th pregnancy and I don’t remember getting better/worse symptoms with any of them felt fairly unwell throughout all my pregnancies.

It's so worrying isn't it?

I went for a scan last Weds (it was booked by the consultant I'll be due to see at the hospital). I measured just over 5 weeks but my LMP dated me just over 7. They have rebooked me for the 4th October so a 2 week wait.

I'm really anxious! I've had no cramping, but have just been to the loo earlier and there was a little pink/brown discharge, when I wiped - admittedly a minute amount, but now what you want to see.

I am consultant led this time as 41, and last year I delivered our son at 20 weeks, after a traumatic experience. I'd only found out I was pregnant 2 days before.

When the consultants secretary rang me about the scan she said the consultant wanted me to ask for cyclogest, but after the scan they said they would give me that next time if everything was progressing well.

There was a yolk sac as no heartbeat and the sonographer at EPU said everything looked in place for 5.5 weeks.

Big hugs x

Holdmysunhat · 26/09/2023 13:28

@BVsMum me too! On the plus side, I’m more chill this time round and haven’t been worried about much. But physically it’s much worse and I’m sick as a parrot. So much more sick starting from 3 weeks. Second pregnancies are meant to be less sickly not more - or at least that’s what the NHS website implies since they say first pregnancy is a risk factor for morning sickness.

Mum032019 · 26/09/2023 14:36

Hey all. Please can I join this thread? I’m 35 and just found out I’m 5 + 3 with our second. We’ve been trying for 18 months or so and has given up really on it happening. Feeling very nervous about everything going smoothly. Congratulations to everybody on your pregnancies.

GemMamaMarie · 26/09/2023 14:44

@csingleton My first pregnancy too, so exciting isn't it? 😁 We had been "kinda-trying" for 3 years prior a (I'd come off pill but hadn't been too regimented about it). To be honest we were beginning to worry.

Man, the constipation has been so bad for me. Been taking fybogel drinks twice a day and if I miss one suddenly it's back to square one 😣

Tiredness has been a killer too. Overslept by 3 hours this morning and missed an appointment for a flu jab!

Congratulations to you as well! Yes it's very exciting!

God I know I've been reading about lactoluse so will speak to my doctor on Monday and see what she recommendations as the cramping due to not going is sore and scares me!

Luckily I haven't started feeling the tiredness too much yet still managing to drag myself to the gym but I feel it creeping in everyday I'm waking up expecting to feel really shit! Haha

Hi everyone,
ive put off joining til now as didn’t want to jinx anything but have been following along with the thread!
I’m 7 weeks today due 13th May with my first baby. Feeling anxious everyday not helped by the lack of symptoms so far I think! Just feeling exhausted all the time, need to wee more frequently and slightly tender boobs!
Looking to book an early scan next week at 8 weeks to give me some reassurance!

Congratulations we have the same due date! I had a scan at 6 weeks and could see the heartbeat was all pretty crazy but all pregnancies are different and my friend didn't see anything at 6 weeks and had to wait until 8 so don't worry! 8 weeks will be perfect and will put your mind at rest a little. X

FoodFann · 26/09/2023 16:15

@LBNM19 and @PeppedUp congrats!! I have just used the NHS due date calculator, and have 27 day cycles. It’s now saying due 24th May 🤷🏼‍♀️
