Hey! Just marking my place!

Undercoverunicorn · 30/08/2023 17:57

Thanks for setting up the new threat @Nclktnntt

andpeggy1 · 30/08/2023 18:24

Thanks for the new thread!

Mushroo · 30/08/2023 18:25

@Nclktnntt thanks for the new thread! Checking in

VillageFete · 30/08/2023 18:28

Checking in.

Can you believe it’s September on Friday? Hurtling towards December.

I still have more or less everything from 4 year old DS (All neutral thankfully as this one’s a girl) But no clothes/vests/muslins etc yet… I get quite overwhelmed thinking about it all.

Hoping i’ll have more time from next week when he starts school and I can get a bit more organised.

Flowers90 · 30/08/2023 18:32

Thanks for the new thread!

Having a rubbish day, fell over this morning and landed straight on stomach. Called maternity who suggested I called the maternity assessment. Been told if no bleeding or loss of fluids not to worry. Apparently as I'm only 23 weeks it's to early for them to class movement/changes as a concern.
Also had the summer off work, and return Friday. My work is smart casual but already stressing about the lack of things I have that fit that are appropriate for work!

FirstMondayInMay · 30/08/2023 18:41

Thanks for the new thread!

rubbish day for me too, trapped a nerve in my back this morning so have just been going from bed to sofa all day trying to get comfy☹️

GlitterDragon · 30/08/2023 19:41

Thanks for the new thread!
26 weeks and waddling around with backache all the time wondering how I’ll manage another 10 weeks at work 😭

Soundbathfan · 30/08/2023 19:55

Following! Thank you

Beans1982 · 30/08/2023 20:36

Thanks for starting the new thread @Nclktnntt and thanks for your reply yesterday, I think I just need to accept my MIL is just excited and go with the flow.
I hope you end up with a suitcase of stuff you actually need!

@Flowers90 sorry to hear you had a fall, I hope you're okay! I've been looking for more maternity clothes online, as was hoping that some Autumn/Winter stuff would have started to appear but not seen much so far. New Look and Next have some smart-ish stuff but mainly dresses.

RG84 · 30/08/2023 20:53

Thanks for the new thread.

@Flowers90 sorry to hear about your fall, hope you are doing okay. Happened to me in my first pregnancy, try not to stress, keep an eye on movement.

Flowers90 · 30/08/2023 20:56

@Beans1982 . Thank you. I will have another look and see what I can find!

I read your post on the last thread about your mother-in-law. Mine was pretty overbearing buying loads from the 12 week scan with our first daughter. It hasn't improved and even now she will constantly send home bags full of things we really don't need! Apparently she's not as excited for buying for this baby though.

Charlielechat · 30/08/2023 21:07

Sorry to hear about your fall @Flowers90 that must have been very worrying! It can be very stressful growing a little human sometimes!

Is anyone else getting bad heartburn? Mine has ramped up in the last week or so. Needing gaviscon several times a day 😣

Beans1982 · 30/08/2023 21:21

@Flowers90 I'm sure my MIL will just keep buying stuff, but at least she didn't start to buy at 12 weeks 😳She has however already asked when we're planning baby No. 2, and funnily enough she also brings bin bags full of clothes and things we don't really need when she visits.

@Charlielechat Oh yes, sooo much heartburn! literally doesn't matter what I eat or drink I'll experience heartburn, and it's worse at night time. Even Gaviscon doesn't work all the time 😕

Mushroo · 30/08/2023 21:27

@Charlielechat yes to the heartburn! Literally only started the last couple of days and it’s driving me mad.

It’s at its worst when I’m trying to go to sleep. I made the mistake of having a pickled slaw yesterday, terrible idea.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 30/08/2023 21:34

Thanks for new thread.

I’ve got call with consultant tomorrow although had strange phone call with his receptionist today. I assumed it was just a reminder about appointment but she seemed to think I was going in to hospital to meet him but I’d only ever been told it was a phone consultation. Never received any paperwork with details of his office etc. Hopefully it’s fine just to be a call. I hope it doesn’t slow things down and I get a c-section booked. I would have gone in but she cut the call off quite quickly saying that it was fine to have a call but most come in, when really I was just trying to explain what I’d been told not make a request.

Moriquendi · 30/08/2023 21:35

Thanks for the new thread 😊

I’m 26 weeks tomorrow and can’t wait for it to be over already: only a maximum of 16 more weeks. (Which given my son was 2 weeks late I bet this one is too!) Feeling tired and heavy and getting a fair bit of round ligament pain. Not even in the third trimester yet which is where it got really tough for me last time 😬

I’ve also got nothing ready for the baby, will be reusing all my sons stuff but it’s in storage... haven’t got anything organised and it’s starting to stress me out a bit.

Also, I can’t decide on whether I need a double pram or not. 22 month age gap but planning on having the baby in the sling for the first 6 months-ish. We will have a huge hill to navigate and I can barely push the single pushchair up it which is making me think a double is pointless. But will it be useful on days out? But obviously it’s an huge expense! Any one got a similar age gap? What are you doing?

Charlielechat · 30/08/2023 21:40

@Beans1982 @Mushroo glad I'm not the only one! Doesn't matter what I eat. Gaviscon only lasts a couple of hours too. I'm wondering if it's the makings of a hairy baby!

Mushroo · 30/08/2023 21:43

@Charlielechat I’ve heard this too! Apparently i was a hairy baby so maybe she will take after me 😂

Beans1982 · 30/08/2023 22:04

@Charlielechat If this is the case then I'll be having a very hairy little boy 😄 I've been experiencing bad heartburn for several weeks.

smldnlove · 30/08/2023 22:43

Thanks for the new thread! And sorry to hear this @Flowers90 - try not to worry unless you see any changes but fingers crossed you’re all fine! Xx

RG84 · 31/08/2023 06:01

@ThomasinaLivesHere is this your first consultant appointment? Would love to know if you get a date booked. I have my first consultation appointment tomorrow (Friday) so I really hope I can get a date booked in so I can be prepared.

NoodleQueen90 · 31/08/2023 06:13

Thanks for the new thread 😊 glad I found you all again.
I've also had heartburn for a few weeks now although it was particularly bad when I went to bed last night, felt like I was just ready to throw up acid at any second and gaviscon didn't touch it. Seems to be gone this morning though thankfully!
@Flowers90 sorry to hear you had a fall that must have been really scary. Babies are so well protected in there though so I'm sure everything will be ok. The maternity unit could have been more reassuring though, if you're still feeling worried I'd phone back today and ask if you can get checked out, purely for your own reassurance!

Undercoverunicorn · 31/08/2023 06:19

@NoodleQueen90 and others with reflux. Mine got really bad and the dr has prescribed me omazeprole which id helping massively
