I'm avoiding pram and car seat shopping, the thought of it it's so stressful. I'm going to leave it for another month 🙈

SMG1992 · 01/09/2023 13:40

I got a second hand car seat early on from Facebook Marketplace. The seller said it had never been in an accident but now I'm going to buy a new one.
It's not worth the worry if anything bad happens for it not to be safe.

RG84 · 01/09/2023 13:43

Had my first consultant appointment this morning and he advised the c-section will be done at 38 weeks. He will give me the exact date on the 29th September at our next appointment after my scan. Feel a little relived that it won't be after 38 weeks.

Charlielechat · 01/09/2023 18:46

Pramworld have an extra 10% off this weekend. Just ordered the bundle we had been looking at. It's all getting very real!
We went for the Mamas & Papas Occaro and the Maxi Cosi pebble 360 pro travel system.

17caterpillars1mouse · 01/09/2023 21:42

Those on baby aspirin, what week do we have to stop? I cant remember, google says 36 weeks but my memory thinks it was earlier than that like 32 or 34 weeks. I'm only 27 weeks so I know I can ask my midwife it's just bothering me this second that I can't remember

Thanks

FirstMondayInMay · 01/09/2023 21:50

@17caterpillars1mouse mine say 36 weeks on the box😊

Mushroo · 01/09/2023 22:02

@17caterpillars1mouse yup 36 weeks :)

smldnlove · 01/09/2023 23:19

@Mushroo Oooo we are going with Nuna Triv Next too! Are you hoping to get a Maxi Cosi car seat or the Nuna bundle that included the car seat?

Lillybobs86 · 01/09/2023 23:35

I still got the hip pain as well which is agony at night. I find only a warm bath just before I get into bed gets me through most of the night with slightly less pain.
I'm getting up to wee so many times as well 🤦🏽‍♀️
I'm so tired all the time counting down till finish work! I had a lot of A/L to use up so my last day at work will be during the first week of October 😬
And then Mat leave kicks in 1st week of November.

We got the icandy Cerium bundle with Maxi cosi 360 pro that lays flat. So glad that bits sorted as was quite overwhelming x

The maxi cosi I think! The Nuna looks really good as well, I just like the ‘slide’ of the maxi cosi so think I’m going to go for that.

Because we did the nursery appointment with JL we get 15% off so the price isn’t too different between the bundle and doing it separately.

So many decisions!

Pitstop1986 · 02/09/2023 09:51

I'm absolutely full of cold. Looking after a clingy toddler when I feel like death is not fun! Looks like she's being brought up by the TV today. I usually don't like her watching too much TV, but needs must!

Flowersandfloral · 02/09/2023 17:17

Just wondering if anyone who is potentially planning a c section birth would go to antenatal classes? My midwife was suggesting I should still attend even though she knows my plans (although i'm not 100% still).

I'm not entirely sure what's covered in them, but a lot seems to do with labour and birthing, so if anyone has attended before would love to hear your thoughts!

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/09/2023 18:19

When I went (7 years ago) it was 2 sessions. The first was on labour and birth, the second was going to be on looking after a newborn and feeding but dd was born 2 days before the second class so we never made it. I find the one about labour useful (though was set on a vaginal birth) but managed fine without having attended the second session. Different areas will cover differing things though I imagine

Charlielechat · 02/09/2023 18:28

Not sure if it's been mentioned on here before but if you create an Amazon "baby wishlist" you get 15% off eligible baby items in the list, and a free welcome gift. The discount is available 14 days after you first create the wishlist (it lasts until a few months after your due date). Snuz have 25% off atm so I was able to get 40% off the Snuzpod4 altogether on Amazon today!

Thanks for new thread.
I was on my little mini honeymoon in York had a lovely time. Literally my bump popped 2 days after the wedding I look huge now well for me I do finding it hard to adjust to my body changing so quickly overnight! I'm having trouble tying my shoelaces now and I was exhausted from just walking around museums really hard work. And just seen heartburn is a problem for a lot of us also something I'm getting quite bad on and off all day no matter what I eat. Haven't been taking anything for it at all not sure what is safe.
Little one is giving me some real big kicks now too. How is it creeping up so quickly 26 weeks yesterday eek!

Pitstop1986 · 03/09/2023 09:30

@wannabemum38 I hope that you had an amazing time! I love York, has to be my favourite city in the UK 💕

SMG1992 · 03/09/2023 09:35

Anyone who is planning on having a vaginal birth done a birth plan yet?
Im not really sure what goes into it? I know I don’t want a water birth and otherwise just want it to be as low risk as possible for the baby and I. I’m guessing midwife might help at next appointment.

Soundbathfan · 03/09/2023 15:14

EDD is 7 Dec for me and wowwww am I struggling with fatigue despite good sleep! Anyone else?
I feel like I can only do one major thing a day like one one hour dog walk and I'm done.... annoying!!

Nclktnntt · 03/09/2023 15:18

@SMG1992 I am planning on a water north ideally. My midwife knows this but has said we'll discuss birthing plans on the 30something visit. She said this is because a lot can change and might rule out certain plans.

I'm trying not to have a definite plan in mind as such, just what I would like if in the ideal situation and what I definitely don't want to happen to be written down. Like I don't want a c-section unless it's deemed medically necessary (either myself or baby is in distress), other than knowing I want a water birth, that I won't say no to drugs although I want to do as much as possible without, if possible- I have no idea what pain I'll be in, and that I know I don't want a c unless absolutely necessary - other than that I don't really know what else goes into it tbh. I need to research a little.

I also want to visit the birthing center - prob do that October time

Hopefully the midwife discusses this with me 30+ weeks too. I’ll bring it up at my next appointment
i need to art he to visit the maternity unit at my hospital too

Smileyface32 · 03/09/2023 21:29

I haven’t been on here for a while. Has anyone had Covid recently and how was it? Just tested positive and now feeling worried!

Alexis7890 · 03/09/2023 22:29

@Smileyface32 i got it last weekend and just getting over it now, it was the first time I’ve ever had it and was worried, was seen in hospital and was told to take paracetamol keep temp down as much as possible and just rest as long as needed and go back in if I was worried about baby’s movements. I was worried about baby but still wriggling away, I hope you don’t suffer too much!

Smileyface32 · 03/09/2023 23:23

@Alexis7890 thank you. I’m just so focused on feeling movement now. Been told I will need to have blood thinning injections as I’m classed as high risk. Hopefully I’ll wake up feeling better tomorrow

Alexis7890 · 04/09/2023 07:09

@Smileyface32 i have been on the injections since 16 weeks due to dvt risk, they can sting a bit but aren’t too bad. Hope you’re feeling better today

Mushroo · 04/09/2023 09:14

The tiredness has hit this week and I feel massive.

Yesterday I slept in until 10:30 which is really unlike me, normally wake up about 8 so I must have needed it. My alarm this morning was a struggle!

Can’t believe only about 17 weeks to go though. My calendar is really busy between now and December both work wise and out of work so I have a feeling it’s going to absolutely fly by.

Hoping I stay reasonably active as the bump is definitely starting to take over 😬
