Huge congrats @PrimarilyParented !

@Summer022 this sounds so scary, thinking of you today and hoping they have a clear plan for you. It's good they have a close eye on the situation.

@OrionNebula I haven't even had the slightest bit of leaking yet. Do you reckon the harvesting is still possible? I'm almost 39 weeks and think it just might not be in the cards for me? I did start mat leave this week which has been feeling weird, but honestly I'm so uncomfortable sitting that not being at work has felt physically good in that sense!

cruciverbalista · 29/09/2023 06:39

@FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween I think the syringe availability will depend on trust. My midwife said they'd been waiting on stock for weeks. Typical!

Smiffette · 29/09/2023 07:22

@PrimarilyParented congratulations how exciting!
Hope you are all doing well.

That's 3 little babies now!!

I start Mat leave today, such a strange feeling knowing I'm not back at work until next year. It will take some time to get used too. My DD (3) is kindly letting me have a lay in, she's still asleep which is nice as she usually works up early on my day off and the day she doesn't have pre school 🙄

doeandfawn · 29/09/2023 07:37

@PrimarilyParented congratulations!! Sounds like baby was ready to come out and meet you ❤️

Hopefulx · 29/09/2023 08:24

@PrimarilyParented congratulations 🫶🏼 so happy for you! I still remember our chats when we were trying to conceive

monsteramunch · 29/09/2023 08:26

@PrimarilyParented

Massive congrats, so pleased for you! Flowers

OrionNebula · 29/09/2023 08:31

@PrimarilyParented congrats!

@cruciverbalista are you trying to massage your boobs to see if any comes out? I'm only getting droplets with a lot of squeezing and then it's minimal... going to keep trying for next few days before I go in on Monday although not sure the amounts I am getting are worth keeping. Just going to hope my milk comes in quite quickly after the section.

peonygirl · 29/09/2023 08:35

@PrimarilyParented huge congratulations 🎊 well done, mama.

@Summer022 thinking of you today, hope all goes well.

monsteramunch · 29/09/2023 08:40

@Summer022

Another person here thinking of you today and sending lots of positive vibes Flowers

Summer022 · 29/09/2023 08:57

@PrimarilyParented congratulations lovely! What amazing news xxx❤️

Thank you all ladies for your thoughts. Awaiting a call today for a Doppler scan to see what could be causing his growth to have stopped. I’m 36+1 so not quite term, but with the increased risks to him whilst pregnant and if he’s not growing properly, I just would rather he was delivered asap so I can look after him properly. Will update when I know more, hopefully they don’t take all day to call. It’s just so bizarre as his growth has been absolutely perfect right up until 36 weeks. Xxx

cruciverbalista · 29/09/2023 11:41

@OrionNebula I am, with no luck, but maybe I've been too impatient with it...

NSx · 29/09/2023 12:36

@PrimarilyParented congratulations babe!!! Another boy in the group! Where are all the girls at 😂🩷

@Summer022 good luck babe? Your baby is about the same gestation as mine, I hope you get a quick and easy resolve 🤍🤍🤍

I’ve just been to see my midwife who has told me she thinks the baby might be breech, booked in for a scan on Wednesday, I’ll be honest I cried in the car. (I know I am being Unreasonable)

has anyone had this happen to them and for them to scan and find the baby is head down?
I am 36+2 - does the baby still have time to move?

Summer022 · 29/09/2023 13:30

I had to call the hospital as they hadn’t phoned and it doesn’t look like they were even going to call, despite the urgent 24hr referral. Managed to get a slot for 2pm but apparently there won’t be any Dr’s available to review the scan afterwards! Feel totally stuck in limbo and like I will only get help if his movements slow or stop. Community midwife isn’t interested either so I actually don’t even know who to turn to x

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 29/09/2023 13:47

@Hopefulx I’ve just done the same!

OrionNebula · 29/09/2023 13:54

@NSx there is still time for them to turn, my little monkey hasn't but hopefully yours will. You can try the ECV too, didn't work for me but you might have more luck.

Wonder if there will be a girl before Monday or if mine will be the first!

doeandfawn · 29/09/2023 14:15

@Summer022 so sorry you’re in that position, that’s absolutely garbage treatment. Would be worth pushing at your appointment for “ok what do I need to do for follow up”

doeandfawn · 29/09/2023 14:16

@NSx not unreasonable, if you’ve been planning for a vaginal birth this is a huge change from that. Let yourself feel gutted about it then make your new plan ❤️ baby will come safely.

Mamabear345 · 29/09/2023 14:20

@NSx

This happened to me, baby was head down for weeks and weeks (confirmed on scans) … 36 week appointment and she told me baby had turned to breached. Had scan and she was.
booked in for an ECV at 37 weeks, and in the meantime followed spinning babies religiously. turned up to my ECV apt and she had turned to head down again, so didn’t need the ECV 🙌🏼.

try not to panic too much, and to follow spinning babies and get on your bouncy ball 💖

peonygirl · 29/09/2023 15:42

@Summer022 If your scan is in a hospital where there's a labor ward, there will always be a doctor and a head midwife. You can request for them to review your results, they should listen to your request if the scan has been booked as urgent. This whole treatment sounds strange and I am sorry you are dealing with this. Try not to stress too much as this is not good for you and your baby, but advocate for your rights. I hope it works out and you get some support.

@NSx My baby has turned and is head down now but he is lying on a side, his whole body is on the right side of my tummy. He's like a twisted banana and he is still moving all the time, so I wouldn't be surprised if he flips again. I have a scan next week so let's see if he stays this way but I think they can move position later on still especially if they move a lot.

NSx · 29/09/2023 15:52

@OrionNebula @doeandfawn @Mamabear345thanks so much for the pep talk 🩷🩷🩷really needed it.

will see what they say at the scan on Wed and take it from there. Will also look into spinning babies and get on my ball ✨🤍

NSx · 29/09/2023 15:53

@peonygirl I hope both our babies move and get into proper position 🤞 my baby is also quite active 😭

cruciverbalista · 29/09/2023 16:03

@Summer022 how'd it go? Xx

Summer022 · 29/09/2023 17:23

@cruciverbalista Finally managed to get a sonographer who seemed to have a clue - they have noticed baby is struggling in there now, so too much blood flow is going to his brain to preserve the brain and that’s why he’s not gaining any weight. The sonographer was adamant it needed to be reviewed immediately by a doctor with possible delivery in the next few days. We have to go to a different hospital for Triage than the hospital we have scans at - made our way to the other hospital for Triage as advised and they are saying that baby is fine as his heart rate is fine on the monitor!!! Literally after just being told at another hospital that he’s not ok at all and ought to come out asap. I’m fighting a losing battle and absolutely terrified of losing my baby because nobody seems to have a clue or take this situation seriously.

monsteramunch · 29/09/2023 17:42

Oh goodness @Summer022 how frustrating to be getting such conflicted feedback from people.

As this is so important and must be causing you so much stress, I would ask to speak to the PALS team at your hospital and insist on doing so today x

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS))_ is a free, confidential and independent service that you'll find in most hospitals.
You can speak with a PALS member, who'll try to help you resolve issues informally with the hospital before you need to make a complaint.
PALS can be particularly helpful if your issue is urgent and you need action immediately, such as a problem with the treatment or care you receive while in hospital.
