I'm really sorry if I've missed anyone, I've done my best. Do give me a shout if I've missed you or have your info wrong (apologies if so!), and I'll make a note.

@HRSC I hear you. Bowling ball in the pelvis, PGP, insomnia plus hip pain at night.. I have to take paracetamol every night to just take the edge off.
Indeed I second @LS888 , sleep quality was much better with newborn for me first time around!

I am getting very mild period type pains which are very irregular and nothing to write home about, but I am getting my C section date tomorrow and really hoping I will make it to the elective section next week without going into labour.

HRSC · 26/07/2023 12:05

@LS888 @DomesticElf thank you! It’s really nice to know that I’m not the only one! I do hope sleep will get better - I am dreaming of sleeping on my stomach and not resembling a ship docking into harbour every time I attempt to roll over 😅

🤞 all ok and exciting to get your c section date @DomesticElf !

Dj20 · 26/07/2023 12:39

@overwork good luck. Hopefully little one will be here soon

overwork · 26/07/2023 13:23

Nothing happening yet. I've had a bath and going to have a sleep. Pain still there. @Marmaladebear that's a lovely story. Though he'll have to feed me celery sticks as diabetes midwife called this morning and said no sugary snacks for a few days!

BCxx · 26/07/2023 13:24

I can’t wait to be able to lie on my back but I feel like I won’t sleep the first few weeks again having a newborn to listen out for or check they’re still breathing every 2 minutes!

I’m also having a fair bit of pain on and off, just from kicks I think but I did question last night if it was the start of contractions. I don’t remember the kicks ever actually hurting last time but this is like properly painful. I’m struggling to walk at times with the shooting pains as well.

I know quite a few people who have had a section over the last couple of weeks and I remember the 2 week mark after it being when I felt human again and it was just slightly tender. I find myself feeling so jealous that they’re out the other side of it 🙈 I kind of just want to give up and lie down until someone hands me a baby now.. so done with all of this 😂

LS888 · 26/07/2023 13:51

@BCxx i would also love to lie on my back or front too! I will probably be the same with listening to the baby too as a FTM! Just trying to kid myself that sleep will be better!

Also had some pretty hard kicks that hurt last night. My husband keeps jumping to attention 🤣 Probably wouldn’t describe it as pain but definitely more aware of ‘down there’ heavy uterus sort of feeling. Could be baby is just lower down now rather than the start of something though.

DomesticElf · 26/07/2023 16:29

I am so fed up of 'how are you feeling? Any news?' messages 🙈
Yes, I am still pregnant, now leave me in peace!

Marmaladebear · 26/07/2023 17:59

@HRSC thank you! Hope to recreate it this time although will be much harder with a toddler and my mum staying with me!!

@overwork in lieu of snacks hopefully you've got other stuff that makes you feel good - comfy jammies or maybe some nice perfume/scents that you find comforting? Either way hope you've got the oxytocin going and things are going well 💕💕

@DomesticElf lol someone who never speaks to me outside of work messaged me earlier this week to ask if the baby had arrived 🙄 maybe she's trying to be nice but she literally never speaks to me outside of work so I've just ignored her. She actually messaged me the same day I was in triage so I was in no mood to be forthcoming with info!!

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 18:06

@DomesticElf same lol, I just want to message back go away 🤣🤣

Paintandpots · 26/07/2023 19:03

Well today i couldn't manage to go out with little one to the park, just so tired, so cooked and had be been pottering around doing laundry and playing with little one and his diggers and some cornflakes.

@overwork hope it is not to long now before yourc baby is born.

@BCxx @LS888 missing sleeping on my back too now.

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 19:28

Had my sweep this afternoon, I really didn’t find it too painful at all, just a lot of pressure down there! I thought I would be fully closed 0cm, but I was 1cm. Cervix is still posterior though but I’m pleased my body has at least started to do something!

BCxx · 26/07/2023 19:40

@LS888 we did use one of those little breathing alarms that would go off if they stopped moving for 20 seconds and it did make me feel slightly better to be able to see it was green and I thought at least that would wake me up! Really relaxed much more when he hit 4 months and it felt a lot ‘safer’. I think my kicks low down must be her hitting me with her hands and her head is just quite far down there now. It can’t be pleasant for her either right now but I’m wishing she would ease off a bit 😂

BCxx · 26/07/2023 19:41

@Paintandpots totally know the feeling, I’ve got a cold that I can’t shift as well and just wanted to have a nap so many times today but couldn’t 😔 we’re so nearly there!

BCxx · 26/07/2023 19:44

DomesticElf · 26/07/2023 16:29

I am so fed up of 'how are you feeling? Any news?' messages 🙈
Yes, I am still pregnant, now leave me in peace!

So infuriating 🙈 I think people are half trying to appear nice but it’s also just utter noseyness. I had someone from work message last time on the week she knew I’d most likely be having my section asking how I was. I read it in hospital an hour after baby had arrived and it just angered me! Like she was trying to find out first

ChloeN · 26/07/2023 20:13

@BCxx I think some people are being nice and others are defo being nosey, especially the ones who hardly speak to you normally 🤣

HRSC · 27/07/2023 04:23

@ChloeN hope the sweep is successful! Good luck!

Haha yes the ‘how are you doing?’ messages! My husband says that they’re just trying to be nice but it’s really annoying! And I’ve still got a little while to go, can only imagine it’ll get worse!

On an unrelated note, if anyone wants a good dose of oxytocin I recommend going to see the Barbie film. Went yesterday and it was so good!

Marmaladebear · 27/07/2023 08:15

@HRSC ahh my husband has the day off on Friday so we were talking about going to see the Barbie film while our son was in nursery!! My only reservation is in case labour is imminent for me but I guess I can just leave it is... If I don't go on Friday I don't think we will get another chance any time soon 😅

DomesticElf · 27/07/2023 08:37

@Marmaladebear definitely go. If labour starts, you can always leave.

EsmeSusanOgg · 27/07/2023 08:41

Been out the loop. Had stop start contractions on Sunday. But then they sort of petered out on L&D. Spent Monday eve and most of Tuesday in the assesment unit. Booked in for an induction tomorrow when I hit 37 weeks (have slow leaking waters). Finding the waiting uite anxiety inducing. Last check had me at 3cm and fully effaced early hours Monday. So I have to essentially rest except for monitoring and obs appointments until I get called in tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is doing good!

BusyBushBaby · 27/07/2023 09:15

How is everyone? I've been having on/off cramps since last Friday which have been really painful at times plus intermittent pelvic pressure but so far none of it has come to anything. Haven't had a cervical exam (and don't really want one, I find them very painful) so no idea what, if anything is happening there. Lost my mucous plug (or at least part of it) about 2 weeks ago. I had a scan on Monday and all was looking good. I've booked myself a last minute pedicure for today as it might be the last chance I get for a while!

Recoba · 27/07/2023 09:55

@EsmeSusanOgg sorry you're finding the wait difficult. I hope the induction tomorrow goes well. Not sure if this helps, but when I was induced (pessary) with my first at 41+5, I had been 2cm for at least a week, and it was just the nudge my body needed to get things kick-started. Had a very fast, very smooth (until the last 5 minutes) labour after that in the birthing pool at the MLU attached to the hospital. Hope things go really smoothly for you.

@BusyBushBaby also getting some on and off cramps and baby headbutting my cervix, but at the moment don't think anything is going to happen imminently (I have a cold, so would rather avoid going into labour!). I keep meaning to book myself into a haircut for a similar reason! Maybe next week.

unluckyinlife · 27/07/2023 11:04

Good Morning everyone! I can't believe it's August next week. This pregnancy has flown by. I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and so grateful to have made it this far. I have a consultant app and growth scan booked so we can see how baby is doing in there and see if they feel an induction is needed.

Despite the induction being more convenient in terms of planning, I do want to give my body and baby a chance to arrive naturally if it is safe.

My midwife was adamant at the last appointment that baby would be here by 37 weeks so she booked my 37 week appointment for 37 plus 2 and laughed that she didn't think she'd see me for it 😃. I on the other hand have a feeling baby will now make me wait until at least my due date as other than on and off back pain since the scare at 33 weeks I've had no signs of impending labour!

I literally toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable and said to my DH last night I wish I knew when my last comfortable night of sleep was so I could have savored it at the time!

I finally got to my hairdresser and got my hair done so it's relatively low maintance for after baby. I suddenly feel so much more prepared 🤣

DomesticElf · 27/07/2023 14:33

Got my section date for Wednesday.
If all goes to plan, this time next week I will have my second buba here 😊

BCxx · 27/07/2023 14:36

@DomesticElf how exciting 😊 how are you feeling? Is everything organised already?

DomesticElf · 27/07/2023 15:17

@BCxx all logistics are organised, haircut done, IPL done, house clean, childcare organised. I am all set to go. I am a little apprehensive that I might go into labour before then as I keep getting these period like irregular pains.. but not much I can do about that, eh.
