@BMK fingers crossed the ECV works for you.

Hope all is ok @EsmeSusanOgg! A few ladies on the FB group seem to have lost mucus plug and nothing has happened immediately so fingers crossed you have a bit more time.

@BCxx As I think someone else has said, there's been a few babies on the FB group. Hard to match MN names with FB though! But I believe it's @buttercupbee who had a little boy on the 5th, and @marleyandme has shared her update 😊

@marleyandme It sounds very tough but you're doing amazingly mama ❤

@Daisy155 I sympathise with you, we've been having similar levels of monitoring - CTGs twice a week and Fetal Medicine Scans on top of that. Plus all the usual midwife appointments and an extra scan here and there. It's tough going but for a good cause. Hopefully you can see it as extra reassurance.

@Marmaladebear Glad you had a date night! DH and I went out for a meal at the weekend as a 'last supper' before baby and it was really lovely.

@newmummie It does sound like things may be happening for you. Any update?

Lovely to hear from you @AnnieApple123, hope you and your little boy are enjoying Disney Land!

Welcome @Dj20, I'll add you to the next list.

Sorry you had a movements scare @DomesticElf, glad all ok.

@Recoba Yes I have been wondering this about the strikes and watching nervously.

Why oh why didn't I decide to finish work earlier? 38+2 today and not finishing until Friday. Had my 38 week midwife appointment today and she said baby is very engaged and in a good position at the moment. But due to all the concerns about my pregnancy I'm to have another midwife appointment at 39 weeks to keep an extra close eye.

My booked section is 3 weeks today so I know baby will be here by then, though I'm hoping she makes her own way naturally before that. The fact that she's very engaged has given me a bit of hope, but I think they can be engaged for a while before any movement, especially for first time mums?

@DesertSnow my midwife said the dates- a particular type whose name escapes me; doing 'figures of 8 on a birthing ball' or just with your hips and raspberry leaf tea! All if you want baby to come early. Oh and maybe colostrum torture! I have paused any of above as want her to turn 1st,just in case I induce at wrong time!!
It's slightly uncanny that these babies are becoming real and we will soon have no more pregnancy chat. I am amazed that @marleyandme as FTM had spontaneous labour at 36 weeks and @buttercupbee has a baby too and wait didn't @Miraclesdohappen88 also have the 1st baby of group? How are you getting on !!??
I am unfortunately still at work here...same thing since 10 this a.m- which I was working on until 5am before that. Like you @DesertSnow I just want it all to go away now. I look around and see nothing but house things that need to be done and things I need to get but can't get out of my (yet unwallpapered!)office!oh well- twill be over soon with new time-robber!

BCxx · 17/07/2023 20:46

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I have the same date.. one month today 😊 4 weeks + away still sounds like a long time to me but from Friday it will only be 3 and a bit weeks and that is starting to sound scary.. 😂

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 17/07/2023 20:48

@BCxx it does sound a lot in weeks, but when you say 31 days it feels a lot sooner 😂

Paintandpots · 17/07/2023 23:44

Congratulations to @marleyandme on your baby's birth. Hope your both getting lots of rest and little one is feeding nicely. And that someone is bringing you lovely soup and food to eat.

I have just been given the blood sugar monitoring kit and instructions on what to do and record. Midwife and consultant concerned that baby is measuring large, especially as I'm not that large myself for when it comes to delivery. They did a growth scan today that confirmed their thinking.

@BMK birthing ball sounds like a good thing to have right now. I wonder if i could borrow one from the midwife team?

@MinnieFirstTimeMum yep in days it sounds way better lol.

HRSC · 17/07/2023 23:50

Congratulations @marleyandme ! Hope you and baby are doing ok.

Very impressed with those who are still working! And also those with toddlers too!! I really don’t know how you do it 🥵 have absolutely no energy in my tank at the moment. Lie awake all night and then nap all day!

Had an appointment with my doctor today and everything is looking good. I’ve put on 1kg since my last appointment 3 weeks ago 😅but she didn’t seem to be worried about it and I’m still in normal range (for now!). Baby is average weight but very long - takes after her dad! I had a high level of some bacteria (I can’t remember which one) in urine sample that I did the other week so I’m being tested for Group B Step. Has anyone else had this?

Miraclesdohappen88 · 18/07/2023 12:00

Congratulations @marleyandme on the birth of your baby girl, hope your doing ok and baby is doing well. It's a rollercoaster of emotions. Enjoy all the newborn snuggles. 💕

Miraclesdohappen88 · 18/07/2023 12:07

@BMK great to see the arrival of more babies on here. Yes my wee boy was the 1st delivery he's a month old today. Fastest and hardest month of my life. It's a rollercoaster of emotions feeling up and down, tiredness, love and hormones all in one! Hope everyone is getting on ok. Look forward to hearing the arrival of more wee ones over the coming weeks.

Rowanandremy · 18/07/2023 12:35

Hello everyone, sorry I’ve not been on here much it’s been an eventful few days!

Our son was born this morning after I was induced last night because part of my waters went on Sunday night and they didn’t want an infection risk. He is bigger than his sister was at birth to say he was born at 37 +2 and she was 38 +6, a healthy weight of 7lbs 8 oz and he is doing really well. We’re having to stay in beyond the usual 6 hours so that he can be monitored because my waters went 2 days earlier than he arrived but so far everything is looking really good.

We are very tired after having not slept for 48 hours but very happy. Can’t wait to go home and be in my own bed, sadly it won’t be before dd goes to bed at her grandmas so we’ll be going for her first thing so she can meet and spend time with her baby brother before we have any other visitors.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 18/07/2023 13:24

Congratulations @Rowanandremy 💙

Hollyppp · 18/07/2023 14:01

Lovely news! @Rowanandremy !!

BMK · 18/07/2023 14:03

@Miraclesdohappen88 I have no idea how I missed this- I think I was off the thread at the time but was reading! I cannot believe it was a month ago!!! It is so hard, but you're nearly over the worst ie hopefully when he gets to 6weeks he will sleep more. It's very disconcerting though because you can turn into a Zombie and days and nights blend and suddenly- as you say- a month is gone! That's really unbelievable. I am so happy for you though!
@Rowanandremy I was thinking you had gone unusually quiet !oh my goodness: when was your actual due date (supposedly!)? Induction worked, thankfully! All these surprises are again not textbook, but then nothing often is! I don't know why I think most people will get to 39/40 weeks and just then start the cramps etc. I suppose I was never on a thread before so missed all the real life happenings!(I was the opposite with mine- 41 weeks with both!) Congratulations @Rowanandremy and don't worry about your daughter as she will only be excited about seeing you and outside of that playing with whatever is in front of her!and is being well entertained no doubt! Children are v adaptive and can quickly forget about things we think are crucial and be there obsessed with a few leaves ,when there's like a v 'important ' thing happening etc. You know what I mean! It's very great to get out of hosp though so enjoy!!

sommeliermama · 18/07/2023 14:03

I haven't been on here in a few days and feel like I've missed so much. Congrats @marleyandme and @Rowanandremy on your beautiful arrivals!! Hope all goes well for both of you over the coming weeks, such a special time ❤

Recoba · 18/07/2023 16:13

Wow, many congratulations @Rowanandremy! Hope you can go home soon and all be together!

DomesticElf · 18/07/2023 16:26

@Rowanandremy big congratulations on such joyful news! 🥳 Wishing you a speedy recovery 🥰

Here, on top of a runny nose toddler brought home, I have also came down with a vomiting bug. This is not how I imagined these few weeks were going to go! Note to self - don't vomit in the sink.. 🥴

airmaxJ · 18/07/2023 17:07

@marleyandme @Rowanandremy congratulations 🎉 to you both xx

BCxx · 18/07/2023 19:21

@Rowanandremy aww lovely, congratulations! Hope you get home to your own bed soon 🥰

HRSC · 19/07/2023 09:27

Huge congratulations @Rowanandremy !! Hope you are all doing well and get to go home soon

Marmaladebear · 19/07/2023 09:51

Huge congratulations @marleyandme and @Rowanandremy 💕💕 what wonderful news that your little babies are here 🥰

Rowanandremy · 19/07/2023 10:41

Thank you everyone for your congratulations and messages. We got home last night and we’re very relieved to be home so we could settle for the night. Baby is doing well, he arrived quickly and has left over mucus in his lungs and tummy that he brings up usually after a feed but sometimes a few hours after. He should expel it all within a week according to the doctor but it can be a bit nerve wracking when it sounds like he’s choking. So far recovery is going well for me, I feel like I’m doing better than I did after dd - which I think is partly because I knew what to expect this time and that I didn’t need stitches this time.

@BMK he was originally due on the 6th of august but was clearly keen for a July birthday 😂 the induction worked wonderfully, I’m apparently a bit sensitive to oxytocin so didn’t need a high dose before he decided to rush for the exit 😂 thank you for your reassurances about dd, we can’t wait for her to meet him - we’d originally planned to pick her up earlier but grandma has spoilt her with a treat this morning and we can’t take that from her.

I hope I’ve managed to get a picture on here, I’m pretty useless at this sort of thing 😂 but it shows that he’s got a full head of hair that’s quite long

August Due Date Crew (Thread 9)
BCxx · 19/07/2023 10:48

@Rowanandremy im sure she’ll be having a great time! Aww his hair is adorable 😊 out of interest, did you have bad heartburn? I did last time and he had lots of hair and now do again. When I looked it up last time it did say some studies showed there was a link!

Rowanandremy · 19/07/2023 10:57

@BCxx she was having such a great time she wasn’t best pleased to see dw 😂 luckily we were expecting that so not holding it against her 😂😂 he has a full head of hair that looks like it needs a haircut in about a week 🤣 he looks so adorable. I had awful heartburn and had heard it could be because of that but dws sister had horrendous heartburn and her baby had very little hair so I wasn’t expecting the full head of hair ds is sporting 😂

unluckyinlife · 19/07/2023 11:33

Congratulations to those who have had their babies!

How do I join the Facebook page? I don't want to miss all the announcements!

Baby is still growing away here, only 2 days until our milestone of 35 weeks! We've been told I can go to visit my family next week as long as baby stays put so I'm looking forward to that!

I had a really out of the blue burst of energy yesterday considering I normally struggle to get out of bed and managed to get some cleaning and baby prep done (we now have a next-to-you cot up and the bouncy chair!).

I'm also preparing my work handover and trying to close or get my projects to a position to hand them over safely. It all feels so unreal.

I had an odd burst of happiness on the way to drop my son to school thinking that despite all the issues we are having that I'm nearly full term in the pregnancy that all the doctors said would be unlikely to get through next week.

We seem to have settled on our baby names and have a favourite for each gender, however we are certain my family won't like either. The Girls name although fairly normal we would only be using on the birth certificate and will be referring to her by what is considered a nickname, and the boys name is quite unusual (maybe american?) so I imagine they'll be lots of comments about that.

Some people in my family really didn't like my daughter's name which I still adore and decided to tell me that quite strongly when they came to visit at 3 days post-partum..

My dad has been unexpectedly hospitalised and diagnosed with the big C and I was told today, it doesnt feel quite real yet and I'm waiting to hear more but it seems to be everytime I get a bit of positivity life seems to have a different idea!

How is everyone feeling? Any labour symptoms or preparation going on? 😊

BMK · 19/07/2023 11:45

@Rowanandremy wow that is impressive hair!I've had no heartburn so will be amazed if there's hair on debut!so crazy to think they come complete with even hair!! Oh and he didn't comply with the demand that he be a Leo,BUT this is why I think you have to let nature do his thing as the baby will be born at the right time for them: he is sun cancer but I wonder whether he has lots of Leo in his chart re the other planets at his time of birth..
My baby is still going between breech and transverse but went for acupuncture l night and have moxa to burn on the acupuncture point for 10 days,so hopefully by my Friday appt she might have turned..Are you bfeeding?

Amme18 · 19/07/2023 11:56

@unluckyinlife https://m.facebook.com/groups/874969843647403/?ref=share

so sorry to hear the news about your dad, it’s a lot to take in and I’m not sure your head ever catches up with it! Fingers crossed for positive news re treatment etc.

@Rowanandremy congratulations!!! Beautiful hair!

I am SO jealous of these babies arriving, I am so fed up!! I had awful cramping last night which led to bowels opening, loose stools then full diarrhoea (sorry TMI) last night, was awful and I was really hoping it was the start of something! I’m 38 weeks Friday so any day now is fine by me!
