Hi lovely's

Starting a new thread for those that have gone through ivf and are in the early stages as appreciate we have different anxieties maybe to other groups.

I'm Gayle, I had a fresh transfer on Monday the 13th March and I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. First test showed 1-2 weeks, last weeks test showed 2-3 and next test due on Wednesday (clinic have recommended a test a week until early scan) early scan is on the 14th April.

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for nearly 10 years. We fell pregnant naturally 6 years ago, however after some bleeding at 8 weeks, i went for an early scan and was only dating between 5 and 6 weeks so had to go back in a further 2 weeks to check if any development and the night before, I had a miscarriage. We haven't fallen since and following some tests, it was put down to make factor infertility and ICSI and was recommended however we could not proceed (privately) with my bmi so I started the hard work to lose 5 stone in May last year and hit my target in January 2023 to start our treatment.

I feel like there have been lots of barriers in our way so far. Nhs said no, due to my weight it was a no, due to the financials it was a no so to have anything with a yes now without having a massive battle, feels strange and like it's not quite true!

Symptoms so far - sore boobs, cramping, so hungry, feeling little bits of nausea but not sure if it is my mind or it is real

Feel free to tell me about your battle and how you are feeling

Vallef · 18/07/2023 19:16

How are you doing? Xxx

Hopewishprayer · 18/07/2023 23:44

@Vallef that sounds so scary, glad you and your property are ok, not what you need!
@gulph ylu look amazing, I feel like today all of a sudden my bump has come out I’ve been really small so far.
@BrownXeyes oh good to know your sister likes the egg! DH actually picked it out which I’m surprised at 😂
@CR7 we are going for the mink colour, but just last few days they have announced a limited edition one which is called Jurassic mink it’s on ore order so we are going to get that - the store has been closed and opens again tomorrow so I’ll call first thing to order it 😬

CR7 · 19/07/2023 08:08

@@Hopewishprayer just googled it. Gorgeous colour!!!!!

@Vallef glad you're ok xx

Stopthatnoisemummy · 19/07/2023 13:23

@Vallef I'm not too good, in all honesty. GP sent me to hospital at the weekend with chest/back pain, breathing problems and reduced breath sounds on the painful side. I have a history of blood clots on the lung, but that was fortunately ruled out by the hospital. Been diagnosed with pleurisy (inflammation of the lungs) due to a prolonged upper respiratory infection (due to depressed immune system in pregnancy). Not serious but extremely painful, and obviously limited in what painkillers I can take. Need to rest and shift the infection which is easier said than done. The pain is getting worse, not better and really getting me down 😣 I did pick up a couple of bits for baby today though, which makes it all feel a bit more real. Hope you are doing OK still.

CR7 · 19/07/2023 15:30

@Stopthatnoisemummy so so sorry to hear this but I am glad they do know what's wrong as that is always a big worry.

Watch some garbage on Netflix and get Googling baby names xx

BrownXeyes · 19/07/2023 19:09

@Stopthatnoisemummy so sorry to hear your not well as CR7 said plenty of rest and being waited on hand and foot!

we had another scan today to get the final angle of baby’s heart which was all fine they are happy with everything however my placenta is still sitting low down so they are going to check it again in 8 weeks and if it hasn’t moved it will be a booked C-section for me at 39 weeks. They were very reassuring but I can’t help but now think this is where it’s all going to go wrong! However baby was doing acrobatics at the scan so that was reassuring just still don’t think I have felt baby move but then I don’t know what I’m feeling for! The bubbles and butterfly’s that everyone keeps saying to me (not you guys family and friends) I don’t know what that is meant to feel like I’m 21 weeks tomorrow and just want to feel the movement! I got a short stabby feeling which made me go ooh the other day but it was literally a few seconds and it stopped no idea what that was! X

CR7 · 19/07/2023 20:06

@BrownXeyes they say with your first it can take up to 21 weeks xx

It's only for a second or third pregnancy that they say 16 weeks or there abouts

BrownXeyes · 19/07/2023 20:11

@CR7 yer I’m 21 weeks tomorrow so hoping I feel something in the next week! X

Stopthatnoisemummy · 19/07/2023 20:52

@cr7 @BrownXeyes sadly not much rest for me as DH is away with work and today is my day 'off' with DD. Managed to get the bus to our usual morning activity and a friend came round with a DD similar age this afternoon which helped, and a bit more TV than usual. She's asleep but teething so anticipating a wake up or two overnight. Had a super easy dinner though and early to bed for me. She'll be at nursery tomorrow so at least I can rest in the day as I'll be phoning in sick again.

@BrownXeyes glad the heart was ok. I've heard the majority of placentas move up as pregnancy progresses, so hopefully yours will too. As for movements, mine often feel like I am being flicked from inside rather than bubbles or butterflies. You'll feel them soon I'm sure, and with your placenta is at the front this acts as a cushion too so harder to feel.

BrownXeyes · 19/07/2023 20:58

@Stopthatnoisemummy aww well get
some rest tomorrow while you can!

i shall keep waiting patiently! Xx

Vallef · 20/07/2023 09:30

@Stopthatnoisemummy am so so sorry to hear the pain your going through but on poditive all is well with the baby! Maybe so your not stressing eith work get a sick note for a week so at least it's not on your mind that you also have to deal with that? Just try and take it easy which I know isn't easy with a little one at home already. Isn't there any family who can help take over abit?

@BrownXeyes please don't worry from now if you you have to have a c section then that means it's best action for you and baby. Theres also time for it to shift until week 39 so just try and relax. They also said the same thing for me and one of the babies has a low placenta and on the front so they said it will delay feeling kicks. Also because everyone has different feelings sometimes it's confused for gas so it's just hard to identify but as ur 21 weeks it should start being more noticeable hopefully :)

Vallef · 20/07/2023 09:32

@CR7 how are you doing it feels like ages since you last said something or maybe i missed a msg. Have you been given a due date yet? Xx

CR7 · 21/07/2023 14:13

Hi guys!! Just been for my scan. It's was amazing. Baby had hiccups 😂😂 and was very wiggly.

Placenta is lying above the baby so they said likely I'll feel kicks a bit later.

Every time I have a scan I get a bit more excited. Still won't consider buying anything but definitely doing more research xx

@Vallef 👋🏼 yes I've been posting on this thread this week. Glad you're safe and well xx

Vallef · 21/07/2023 16:00

@CR7 amazing your scan went well and baby was being cute for mum :) scans are the best they personally keep me sane and I believe that'd probably the same for everyone in this group! When's your due date now given how you were measures ahead? I think we're probably aligned now! Xx

Hopewishprayer · 21/07/2023 17:20

@Stopthatnoisemummy sorry to hear you are unwell, hoping for a quick recovery!!

@BrownXeyes I’ve not felt movement either and 22 weeks on Monday - have been told it can take up to 24 weeks 😬

@CR7 glad your scan went well 🙂

CR7 · 21/07/2023 17:24

@Hopewishprayer @BrownXeyes it could be where your placenta is lying like they said to me this morning x

Stopthatnoisemummy · 21/07/2023 17:26

@Hopewishprayer thank you, am slowly on the mend. DH is back from his work trip and is all set to do the majority with DD over the weekend so I can carry on resting. Have been hit with awful acid reflux today though which is very unwelcome!

@CR7 glad the scan went well

BrownXeyes · 21/07/2023 18:01

@Hopewishprayer oh really? Makes me
feel better that someone else is in the same boat as me!! We shall keep our fingers crossed!

@Stopthatnoisemummy glad your starting to feel slightly better hopefully a little more
each day!

@CR7 glad you had a good scan this morning. We have started picking up little bits in the sales like baby grows etc nothing big we are lucky that a lot of friends are offering us brand new stuff for nothing and happy to keep hold of it for us until we are ready to collect. We are going to look at travel systems this weekend but won’t be buying anything just yet however I know a family
member waited 8 weeks for there’s to be delivered so not sure if that’s still the case with some x

CR7 · 21/07/2023 19:18

@BrownXeyes also you're a few weeks ahead of me. By then I'm hoping I have the courage to buy!

My sister has already shipped all her baby stuff to me. Even though she has two boys and we don't know what we are having 🤣🤣 it could be a case of a little girl wearing a lot of blue!

I know which buggy I would like also.

I am going to pluck up the courage to start a thread on here asking for top recommendations. I would rather speak to real people than look on google and not know how much is product placement and sponsored items if you know what I mean.

I also can't believe after four long years of difficulties that I am actually pregnant! Xx

BrownXeyes · 21/07/2023 21:43

@CR7 I know what you mean and I think that’s why we are holding off with buying stuff because that disbelief is almost still there! It’s crazy!

but at what point do we say if we don’t we are gonna run out of time 🤣

yes my sister is handing me stuff on from her son sleepsuits etc and I think for bed I’ll take it! Most of it is white though x

CR7 · 22/07/2023 10:05

@BrownXeyes you're so right. I think some of the bigger items like buggies etc for sure but the small stuff I'll probably get a few weeks before. God bless Amazon and similar companies that deliver within a day or two xx
