Hi lovely's

Starting a new thread for those that have gone through ivf and are in the early stages as appreciate we have different anxieties maybe to other groups.

I'm Gayle, I had a fresh transfer on Monday the 13th March and I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. First test showed 1-2 weeks, last weeks test showed 2-3 and next test due on Wednesday (clinic have recommended a test a week until early scan) early scan is on the 14th April.

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for nearly 10 years. We fell pregnant naturally 6 years ago, however after some bleeding at 8 weeks, i went for an early scan and was only dating between 5 and 6 weeks so had to go back in a further 2 weeks to check if any development and the night before, I had a miscarriage. We haven't fallen since and following some tests, it was put down to make factor infertility and ICSI and was recommended however we could not proceed (privately) with my bmi so I started the hard work to lose 5 stone in May last year and hit my target in January 2023 to start our treatment.

I feel like there have been lots of barriers in our way so far. Nhs said no, due to my weight it was a no, due to the financials it was a no so to have anything with a yes now without having a massive battle, feels strange and like it's not quite true!

Symptoms so far - sore boobs, cramping, so hungry, feeling little bits of nausea but not sure if it is my mind or it is real

Feel free to tell me about your battle and how you are feeling

@gulph cant wait to hear how it went 🥰 x

gulph · 14/07/2023 11:21

I'm back!!

I relaxed as soon as I saw my little baby on the screen with its heart beating 💓
Scan went really well, measuring exactly as they should, no abnormalities seen, a wiggly baby who has their head on my right side and legs out to the left so transverse but they said that is pretty normal at this point.
Went through the brain, face, eyes, lips and nose, heart, legs and arms, bladder, kidneys and digestive system.
Then went and got my whooping cough vaccine.
Next - I'm buying my pram 😆
Hope everyone else's scans go well today xxxxxx

@gulph amazing news 😀

On the train back from work. 2 hrs to go!

Vallef · 14/07/2023 14:09

@gulph that's amazing hun hope the rest of you have amazing scans alsooooo. After week 20 you can also have a 3d scan is there anyone who will be doing that? :)

@CR7 I didn't want to know the baby sex either but I think with 2 of them it will be complicated enough as it is plus we have already started the bickering with names so I think we will find out in a few weeks time as well just to make life easier in general! But kudos to anyone who manages not to find out I can only assume it will take such great will power!!

CR7 · 14/07/2023 14:17

@Vallef some of the 3d scans look very scary when you see them so I'm not sure we will have them xx

Different for you as you need four names not one! Xx

Everything was ok today for me. They were happy with all measurements etc have to go back next week because there was on angle/picture of the heart they couldn’t get because of babys position but they said it’s just for records nothing abnormal. They also want to check my placenta they were unsure wether it’s sitting to close to my cervix or wether it’s baby’s head just
pushing it slightly. Extra scan for me so I don’t mind! Apart from that everything is looking good with my baby GIRL!!

@Stopthatnoisemummy @gulph how did you get on?xx

gulph · 14/07/2023 15:01

Eakkkkkk a girl 💗 how exciting 🤩

@gulph how did I miss that!! Aww look at that beautiful baby! It’s so interesting when they go through it all not that I knew what was what half the times! Enjoy buying a pram all exciting x

Stopthatnoisemummy · 14/07/2023 16:58

All OK with baby at my scan, although not the most cooperative in terms of positioning. My placenta is low and at the front so I have to go back for another scan to check it's not adhered to my c section scar - rare but can be serious if it has. Baby is a boy 💙😯😄

CR7 · 14/07/2023 17:08

@Stopthatnoisemummy a boy 🩵💙🩵

gulph · 14/07/2023 17:34

Awwwwww we have a boy and a girl so far 💗 sorry, letting the side down by not knowing until November 😂

OP posts:
BrownXeyes · 14/07/2023 18:28

@Stopthatnoisemummy this is what I have to go back for as well but they aren’t sure wether it’s the baby’s head pushing it down! I go back next Wednesday! Aww congrats a boy!!! I’m so happy for you! 💙 x

gulph · 14/07/2023 18:50

What are the thoughts on travel systems then guys?
This is my shortlist:
Ickle bubba stomp lux
Vinicci titanium upline
Icandy peach
Bugaboo fox 5
Mamas and papas occaro
Silver cross pioneer

Stopthatnoisemummy · 14/07/2023 19:22

@BrownXeyes mine being low in itself isn't an issue as I'll likely need another c section anyway, it's the complications that arise if it is stuck to my scar that are the issue. Trying to stay away from Google...

Stopthatnoisemummy · 14/07/2023 19:25

@gulph we have the nuna mixx next travel system which I would recommend. Really easy to push, the big wheels make it great for botj pavements and less stable terrain (woodland paths etcl big basket and has the option for putting the car seat on the frame too. I'd recommend going somewhere like a baby store or john lewis where you can see and test some to get a better idea of what you want.

BrownXeyes · 14/07/2023 20:37

@Stopthatnoisemummy yes stay well away from google! Hopefully that’s not the case for you! X

BrownXeyes · 14/07/2023 20:41

@gulph i can’t believe we can start talking travel systems! I am going to look at your list though 🤣 x

Cookiecrush · 14/07/2023 22:06

Hey everyone may I join in? I also had a transfer in March and am due December. We have our 20 week next week I'm so excited to find out if everything is ok and what the gender !

We have the cosatto travel system which works well!

gulph · 14/07/2023 22:29

@Cookiecrush of course! Welcome! We really should change it to just ivf pregnancy now as everyone is at different stages now!
Is this first baby? How have you been feeling? Xxx
