@P1pk I have also been waking up a lot in the night this week and popping a film on to get back to sleep 🤦🏻‍♀️ defo worth mentioning to your midwife though.

Spiralout · 26/02/2023 07:55

So DH is back from a week abroad for work, lovely to have him back, but after “doing the deed” this morning I am now bleeding 😬
Dr Google says light bleeding is ok after sex and should settle but clearly quite nervous, especially after a MC last year. Has anyone else experienced this?

Spiralout · 26/02/2023 07:57

@P1pk
Same here between 4-6am, so annoying as just as I get back to sleep I have to get up. I have realised I think I can feel the first flutters during this time though so maybe it is baby’s awake schedule! I am also super thirsty when I wake so make sure to keep a glass of water by the bed - that might help with your headaches as well?

ChloeN · 26/02/2023 08:14

@Spiralout my midwife said bleeding after sex is so common! She did say to phone regardless but say you’ve done it because that’s likely to be the case xx

Spiralout · 26/02/2023 08:38

@ChloeN thank you! Was panicking in the moment. It seems to have stopped so wasn’t much blood overall. I read that it is more common if your placenta is low, got the 20 week scan soon on 17 March so will ask about placenta placement then.

ChloeN · 26/02/2023 08:53

@Spiralout i would be too blood is really scary at any stage! I think your cervix gets sensitive too so could be that getting irritated!

P1pk · 26/02/2023 09:39

@MinnieFirstTimeMum @Spiralout thanks ladies, glad to know I'm not the only one. Nice tip about water too, will try that tonight.

@Spiralout glad the bleeding stopped but defo speak to midwife. Its always worrying seeing blood.

Have a lovely Sunday all!

JT2021 · 26/02/2023 09:46

Hi everyone! Been lurking a while but finally joining the thread - currently 16+5 with first baby (due on 8 August!) hope I’m not too late to join!

First trimester was hell with constant nausea, a few bleeding scares and major fatigue, only really eased a week ago.

Got to hear baby’s heartbeat for first time earlier in the week which was so special! Also going for a private gender scan next week as I can’t wait til 20 week scan to find out. Everyone thinks it’s a boy, I feel like it’s a girl but I wonder if that’s because I’ve always pictured a girl first? Either way I just want baby to be healthy which they seem to be so far.

I don’t know anyone else pregnant at the moment so will be nice to speak to you all in this group 😊I’m clueless about everything baby/pregnancy, me and DH are totally unprepared and haven’t been around many babies, but so excited for this journey!

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday x

Sjw30 · 26/02/2023 10:34

Congratulations and welcome @JT2021 ☺️I feel quite clueless as well!

jollydollyirl · 26/02/2023 10:35

Has anyone started buying anything? FTM and the list of necessities looks overwhelming.

Although I did just invest in a bbhugme and it's amazing!

Sjw30 · 26/02/2023 10:40

@jollydollyirl I haven’t yet! every time I look I feel a bit overwhelmed and decide to wait till we’ve had our 20 week scan 😂

ChloeN · 26/02/2023 11:28

@jollydollyirl Ive bought loads 🤣🤣 I’ve had a list on my phone for ages of everything I’d want so I’ve been ticking it off along the way!

Will you tell me what you’ve bought? 😂 I want to be this organised!

Marmaladebear · 26/02/2023 11:37

I bought some sleep suits before we even started trying to try to send a message to the universe 😂 haven't bought anything since though. I think I'll buy a next to me cot when I'm about 30 weeks... I have a list from when we had my son so I'll probs just do a big shop for things we don't already have a few weeks before

ChloeN · 26/02/2023 11:45

@jollydollyirl ive found this list from what I screenshot off a mum on Instagram, it’s probably better than mine🙈

Hello, just like @JT2021 I’ve been lurking for a while but first time posting.
Im 16+3, due August 10th and this is my second baby.
Had lots of symptoms in the first trimester (nausea, fatigue etc) but I’ve felt much better for the past week and now that has me worried. Im not sure I can feel any movement yet - it’s hard to tell at this stage. Anyway, just feeling anxious because I don’t feel pregnant anymore - never thought I’d say this but it was better when I was being sick!
Hope you’re ok after this morning @Spiralout
xx

AnnieApple123 · 26/02/2023 15:17

@Asher19992 I had something a bit like this very recently, although it was lower back pain for me. I went to an osteopath who specialises in pregnancy and she thankfully managed to treat it very quickly. I’d recommend doing the same. In general the sooner you can get sort these out the better.

Lovely news @BusyBushBaby

Interestingly I’m another one who’s been awake for lengthy stretches in the middle of the night lately.

@BusyBushBaby congratulations! How lovely 💖

@AlexM7 im at that weird in between stage too. This is #2 but my bump went big quite early and almost feels like it’s disappeared now, maybe I’m just less bloated or something! Haven’t even gagged at all this week and can’t feel baby kick yet, counting down to my 16 week scan 🙈

@jollydollyirl this is my second so I haven’t bought anything apart from a second hand double buggy. It’s only really clothes, nappies, new bottles and a few fresh things like new blankets etc I’ll buy this time. I’d say make a list of the big expensive things first, you really do get carried away when you get to the little things 😂 The bedside crib, pram, changing mat, perfect prep machine if you’re going to do any formula feeding, steriliser (or mam bottles don’t need one), Moses basket if you’re going to get one, some sort of little seat or swing for baby, basic play mat for the floor.. the list is endless 🙈

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 26/02/2023 15:32

Welcome @AlexM7 and @JT2021 😊

Can I ask at what week everybody has started to feel movement?

BCxx · 26/02/2023 15:33

Just had the in-laws round and this is the first time we’ve seen them since we told them so I was kind of gearing up for the overly forward questions 🙈 MIL asked if ‘two is the magic number’ and I just sort of went eh yeah as she caught me off guard. Actually we’ll probably have three but I don’t feel like it’s anyone else’s business to ask, when I’m not even half way through making this one! She then went on to ask if I want this one to be girl (after our little boy). I laughed it off the first time but she asked again another twice and it was just so uncomfortable. I know it most likely is a girl but we haven’t told anyone and won’t until after the scan but I’d be delighted regardless, I hate the whole thing of implying you wouldn’t be happy with one gender when it’s literally 50/50 odds 🙄 Think I’m just extra vulnerable just now but they are always sooo forward with their questions and I feel like out of politeness I just have to let it go

AnnieApple123 · 26/02/2023 15:35

Welcome @JT2021 and @AlexM7.

BCxx · 26/02/2023 15:35

@MinnieFirstTimeMum last time with #1 I felt him once at 18 or 19 weeks, it was one big kick that moved my belly on the outside. Then it went away for a while until after 21/22 weeks when he started properly kicking regularly. This time I’m only 15 weeks and keep wondering if I’ve felt anything but I’ll know when there’s a big kick again I’m sure

ChloeN · 26/02/2023 15:42

At my scan this morning they started measuring the baby on centiles! I guess they change so much as the baby carries on growing but it’s looking big atm🤣
