@BCxx ive also started with heartburn!

BCxx · 18/03/2023 16:20

@Sjw30 i thought it was too early but clearly not! I’ve googled it and some people do get it in the second trimester 🙄 It got so bad towards the end last time, not sure I can handle that for 21 weeks 😳 it has just randomly came on today

Sjw30 · 18/03/2023 16:28

@BCxx I actually had no idea I just assumed it was normal at any stage 🤣. It’s not been unbearable at the moment where I’ve needed any gaviscon or anything but may get worse in the future 👀

BCxx · 18/03/2023 16:42

@Sjw30 ive never had it other than when I was pregnant and I didn’t even know what’s that it was last time but described the burning throat to my husband and realised it obviously was. I always pictured him having hair because of my heartburn (and old wives tales say they do) and sure enough he was born with loads of dark hair. Just googled when babies start to get hair and it’s now funnily enough!

Sjw30 · 18/03/2023 16:49

@BCxx oh wow that’s interesting!

ChloeN · 18/03/2023 17:39

@Sjw30 @BCxx i had it way worse in the first trimester! I don’t know if that was linked to the sickness though🤔

newmummie · 18/03/2023 17:45

Heartburn has also started with me, really bad, sending me crazy!!

BCxx · 18/03/2023 17:54

@ChloeN yeah I think it’s just the hormones that cause it to happen but I thought mine didn’t get bad last time until there just wasn’t enough space in there and everything was squashed. There is hope it might go away for a bit if you’ve had it and it’s not as bad now 🤞🏼

CityKity · 18/03/2023 19:49

@Marmaladebear that female manager sounds like an absolute nightmare! Good call making notes of how she’s treating you, finding reasons to belittle your performance sounds petty and unprofessional. I’m quite new in my company so a promotion is unlikely for me but something my manager was encouraging me to go for (pre baby) as I was hired in slightly below where I should be.

@LS888 congrats on the scan!!! Im just curious, but how long was this one compared to the 12 week scan?

@DesertSnow if I remember correctly you were running during your first trimester too? How are you getting on these days? I’m still trying to run and was really looking forward to running in spring but it’s starting to get harder and harder and my run yesterday was utter pants. I had to walk half of it. I get a lot of pressure down below a few mins in and then seem to bloat during the run quite quickly which adds more pressure. Any other runners feeling the same? I’ve slowed my pace right down, but that doesn’t seem to help. I’m wondering if this is my cue to stop running for now? I’m at my deck all day so I love my runs for getting fresh air but obviously don’t want to be doing anything silly.

In other silly FTM questions - is wearing tight trousers/jeans any risk to baby? Im still wearing some of my normal jeans/work trousers which feel fine in the morning but then by the afternoon are really tight and uncomfortable as I bloat throughout the day and eat etc. Aside from the uncomfort to myself, it’s not doing the baby any issues is it? Sorry I know this seems like a really silly question but I was out all day yesterday and couldn’t wait to talk my jeans off last night! I need to get some stretchy trousers / dresses asap!

LS888 · 18/03/2023 20:48

@CityKity the scan was probably about 25/30 mins. As they had to check certain things like the heart, head size, spine, kidneys, femur length etc. Because the baby has to be in a certain position to measure some of these things she had to ask me to go for a wee and lie in different positions until the baby moved. Also I didn’t need a full bladder and she said after the 12 week one most people don’t.

ChloeN · 18/03/2023 21:04

@BCxx ive jinxed myself I’ve got bad heartburn tonight 🥲🤣

BCxx · 18/03/2023 21:07

@ChloeN oh no! I’ve had Fanta lemon tonight which you’d think would be the worst thing for it but it actually seems to be less noticeable somehow. I saw a thing online about the refresher sweets being good to help it 🤔

UsernameNotPresent · 18/03/2023 21:43

@CityKity tight pants won't do any damage to the baby, just uncomfortable, so you are fine ☺️
Not a runner, but a hiker here. Done what is supposed to be an easy trail today, and goodness me, I struggled. It was climbing a hill, and every time elevation got steeper, I kept getting the heavy tightness in lower bump. I don't know how you manage to run.

I've reached a stage of needing to do proper kegel exercises... Now every time I sneeze I risk wetting myself (and my undercarriage didn't suffer in first delivery as DS came out via sun roof!). Pregnancy is a glamorous thing 🥴 Oh, and my belly button popped out.

Spiralout · 19/03/2023 06:54

Running has completely stopped for me but I am still hiking with the dog, incline walking on the treadmill and yoga/Pilates. Finding that hills I had no issue with are making me breathless now.

is anyone else getting lots of belly pressure/pain? I think it’s ligament stretching especially as I’m not showing yet!

20 week scan yesterday confirmed the NIPT boy 💙 🥰 also had to have the bed tilted and jiggle around to get baby to move! Appointment was about 30 minutes in total.

in laws bought us a lovely Peter rabbit set from M&S and we are going to buy a pram today! Last day of Mama & Papas current sale.

Finally, Happy Mothers Day to everyone!

newmummie · 19/03/2023 12:20

Is anyone else's baby kicking away in there but doesn't respond when you poke belly? I'm 19weeks today & baby has been going crazy kicking past 2 days, but every time after it kicks I immediately look at my tummy to see if it does it again but nothing & then when I poke tummy baby doesn't kick, it only does it when I'm not looking 🤣 as if it's joking with me - also is it normal for it not to respond to you touching belly

BCxx · 19/03/2023 12:38

@newmummie yeah I’m at that stage just now.. I’m looking forward to her being able to respond, I really liked all the big movements last time but still at the little kick/punches stage

BCxx · 19/03/2023 12:42

@Spiralout congrats on your boy 💙 and how exciting you’re choosing your pram too! Which one did you go for?

I’ve still not really bought anything but I did get a double buggy on eBay quite early on that I keep forgetting about but no clothes yet!

Spiralout · 19/03/2023 13:21

@BCxx thank you! It’s nice narrowing down colours and outfit choices now!
We are getting the Bugaboo Fox 5 which is quite a new model so not in stock everywhere yet. We were lucky enough to have some vouchers from parents and in laws to help with the cost!

Createcomet · 19/03/2023 13:21

How's everyone else doing with fatigue? I feel like I'm majorly struggling at the moment. Nearly 19 weeks and so, so tired. My whole body feels like a lead weight and I just have zero tolerance for my 2 year olds whinging 😭 I just feel so depleted its making me feel quite low, but my bloods are all fine 😭

sommeliermama · 19/03/2023 13:51

@Createcomet I'm so tired too! Been fine for the past few weeks but I'm now at 18 weeks and been dizzy and exhausted for a good few days. I had to take today off work as I just couldn't face it today.

Bought a blood pressure monitor but all seems fine, and I've still been taking my multivitamins and iron. Who knows, maybe the baby is going through a growth spurt

UsernameNotPresent · 19/03/2023 13:58

Very tired here too. I thought it was just being away on holiday with a toddler. Coming back home today and back to work tomorrow. Bleugh.

jollydollyirl · 19/03/2023 15:23

@newmummie What does it feel like? 😂18+3 and I've no idea what I'm supposed to be feeling down there!

BCxx · 19/03/2023 18:19

@Spiralout aw lovely 😊 I loved the look of the Fox last time, the footmuffs and all the colours are so nice

BCxx · 19/03/2023 18:39

@Createcomet I thought I was fine but was out a toddler thing yesterday and planned to sort out some of the house when I got home but I was absolutely exhausted. Literally felt like I was going to fall asleep on the sofa when I got back. I’ve got this week off so just going to have to take it one room at a time! Trying to do a major declutter until I have hardly anything left so it can’t possibly get messy 😂

newmummie · 19/03/2023 19:22

@jollydollyirl feels like flutters in my tummy, like a twitch? or a flick? so many ways to describe it 🤣 that last like a second, it just comes at random times, you'll definitely start feeling it in the coming weeks, such a great feeling 🥰
