@newmummie I had a funny crampy tender belly, ended up being a uti! It feels nothing like my normal uti so glad I got checked xx

Rowanandremy · 12/03/2023 10:50

@sommeliermama congratulations on your girl!

My bump is a bit strange, one minute I look very pregnant and in the next I look a bit overweight but not noticeably pregnant. He likes to either be right at the front or sitting right at the back, dw finds it very amusing because she can tell where he is by looking at my belly.

Is anyone else having any hip pain? My right hip is very sensitive and has numbness or like pins and needles in it. I’m finding it difficult to sleep on that side with it. I’m thinking it’s possibly a pinched nerve, I’m trying to decide if it’s worth going to the doctors or not.

JT2021 · 12/03/2023 12:12

@Rowanandremy im exactly the same with my bump and hips!! My bump either looks like a proper bump or I just look like I’ve been overindulging at buffets for the past month!

I have also been suffering tingling numb hips since second trimester started - midwife thought that baby was laying on a nerve and I’ve found that in the past week it’s not been as bad, making me think the baby has moved off it? It’s horrible though - my left hip was the one causing me trouble but I woke up with a stiff right hip this morning?! Hope baby hasn’t decided to shift to the other side now! I hope it eases up for you though - it’s worth mentioning to doctor or midwife just in case. Nothing really helped apart from sleeping on the other side so I can’t offer much help there I’m afraid.

Marmaladebear · 12/03/2023 12:21

@sommeliermama congratulations on your little girl! 💕

We are having a gender scan today too, I'm 17+1 as well. Have a bit of scan nervousness, we wanted to wait until the NHS 20 weeks scan like we did with our son (which was during lockdown so we had no choice) but I really want some reassurance so we've booked this private one.

Also I mentioned a few weeks ago we had booked a family friendly hotel for a UK holiday and wanted to give a quick review in case others were thinking of doing it. The chain is called luxury family holidays and we stayed at the Ickworth hotel and honestly it was the first family holiday I've actually felt relaxed after. the best thing was that they had monitors so you could hang out downstairs after bedtime or during nap time and and it's super family friendly. You also get 90 mins a day crèche time included but we didn't bother with that in the end because we felt relaxed from not having to cook or clean. Downsides are the food is extortionate and the lunch menu is awful (only did lunch once then bought it out the next day). £30 for a standard steak and chips is basically robbery. All in all definitely only worth it if you have little ones so you can use a hotel without having to go to bed when they do.

sommeliermama · 12/03/2023 13:07

Good luck with your scan @Marmaladebear and thank you everyone else for the kind words!

UsernameNotPresent · 13/03/2023 05:38

Just a wee update on flight if anyone is interested. No one cared that I was pregnant and didn't ask for any latters/paperwork. Now looking forward to the holiday ☺️

Happy Monday everyone!

unluckyinlife · 13/03/2023 07:55

@UsernameNotPresent no idea what happened there! It wad meant to say enjoy your holiday! Xx

DesertSnow · 13/03/2023 09:42

@newmummie yes, still getting cramps occasionally, I think/hope it's things growing, plus hormones have a lot to answer for! I find I get really sharp pain if I move suddenly/awkwardly or sneeze.

@sommeliermama congratulations on your little girl! 💗

@UsernameNotPresent enjoy your holiday! 🌞

@Marmaladebear hope the scan went well!

In case anyone's interested, there are 8 confirmed boys and 8 confirmed girls so far 😍Looking forward to hearing more updates!

I have now developed leg cramping at night and also an eye twitch - apparently common in pregnancy. Starting to wonder if I'm pregnant or becoming a pirate?

BCxx · 13/03/2023 10:08

@DesertSnow the leg cramps were so annoying the last time, I’ve not had it yet but I used to get it really badly in my leg when I was in bed at night 🤦🏼‍♀️

@UsernameNotPresent have a good time away 😊

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 13/03/2023 11:25

Haven't been on for a few days. Been busy getting ready for our gender reveal. Found out we are having a baby boy 💙 congratulations to everybody who has also found out gender 💙💗 and welcome to everybody who has joined over the last few days.
I thought once I knew what we are having it would feel real again, but it is so strange not feeling pregnant at all to put the two together 😂

unluckyinlife · 13/03/2023 12:51

@MinnieFirstTimeMum congratulations on finding out its a little boy! I'm so excited to find out what my little one is but have quite a while yet 😅.

So on Sunday my bump arrived out of nowhere! I was really achey around my stomach and by midday it had popped. Today its still got that stretched achey feel but it came so suddenly I'm not surprised!

My DH was grinning at my weirdly so I asked him why and he said I had just gotten 'so big' ll of a sudden.

Then this morning a school mum friend said to me 'wow your bump is so big already, you're going to be massive!' In a loving way (she loves all elements of pregnancy unlike me..)

My work has decided to not tell my clients until I'm at least 20 weeks so still got over 3 weeks to go. I'm going to have to work out how to strategically hide it before then! X

allgoodthings84 · 13/03/2023 12:58

ahhhh @unluckyinlife I hope mine pops a little bit soon. I have a bit of a bump but just looks like I e got a bit chubby rather than it being a baby looking bump.

I’ll be finding out this weekend if I’ve got a boy or girl in there. Im excited but scared all at once.

every 2-3 weeks I wake up with red blood snot in my nose (gross I know) but today I woke up just 10 minutes before my alarm went off with a full on nosebleed. I had a couple right at the beginning and seems it’s back. I know it’s a pregnancy thing and I get nosebleeds a couple times a year anyway but usually only when I have a really bad head cold and I don’t so I know it’s pregnancy related which funnily enough is kind of a relief as my only symptom I’ve had lately

unluckyinlife · 13/03/2023 13:08

@allgoodthings84 I'm sure it won't be long! I was just saying last week that it was odd I hadn't had a bump yet, just like I'd gained weight as with both my other pregnancies I was showing by now and then 5 days later there it was 😅

My 5yo tried to give baby an energetic kiss yesterday and bounced off of my bump as it was so hard 🤣

Finding out the gender was probably one of my favourite pregnancy memories from my other pregnancies, it just helped me picture myself with the baby. I'm not finding out this time and thought I'd be sad, but currently it's just pure excitement.

I would say the nosebleeds are a pregnancy thing, I've only ever had three in my life.
One when a toy hit my face as a kid and then two walking up a slope whilst pregnant with my first.

I've never had a full nosebleed since but have ha a tiny bit of blood whenever I blew my nose last pregnancy x

BCxx · 13/03/2023 13:29

@MinnieFirstTimeMum ahh congratulations on your little boy! 💙 I told myself it would feel real after the gender scan but I still feel the same and still keep saying the baby or ‘it’ 🙈 I do remember it going in really quick last time after the 20 week scan though and I’m only 3 weeks away from that so it’s bound to start feeling real soon!

jjeanii · 13/03/2023 16:59

Hi all I'm 20 weeks today and enjoying feeling baby now , definitely feeling moving and little kicks , heartburn ❤️‍🔥 has started too . One thing I'm not enjoying at all are these vivid strange dreams every single night, often scary ones. I'm not anxious in my day to day life but in my dreams I am always defending myself from all sorts , wasps , kidnappers, tigers etc

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 13/03/2023 18:13

@BCxx I am the same, cannot get used to saying He at all 😂

P1pk · 13/03/2023 18:16

@Rowanandremy my hips are killing me every night! I am thinking of calling the doctor or community midwife tomorrow because I have to change sides every few hrs but then by telephone morning I'm just aching on both sides and can't fall asleep. So desperate to sleep through the night atm!

@MinnieFirstTimeMum congrats on your boy! So pleased for you!

@allgoodthings84 I'm 17+2 today and I feel like I've had the pop today! So strange I keep feeling like I need to breathe in but then remember I'm pregnant!! Lol such a strange time.

I have 3 and a but weeks until 20wk scan so I'm praying I stay patient for that!

@jjeanii So lovely to hear some of you can feel your babies move, I'm really looking fwd to that feeling! I'm still have mad dreams too, which atm I don't mind over the aches during sleeping!

DesertSnow · 13/03/2023 19:35

@MinnieFirstTimeMum ah congrats on your little boy! 💙

@BCxx ah yes the leg cramps is only in bed - I read about them the other day and literally thought "well at least that's a symptom I don't have", and now here we are 😂Think I need to stop reading about symptoms!

I do have a bump (20+2) but I also am worried that I just look a bit chubby. Got a couple of weddings in the next couple of weeks and I'm not looking forward to the photos 😥

Narwhal88 · 13/03/2023 22:20

@MinnieFirstTimeMum congrats 😊💙💙

@P1pk this is exactly me too with the hip pain when sleeping. I can only lie on each side for a bit at a time so keep tossing and turning and by morning I can't sleep as it hurts. My hip was aching in the day today too. I'm going to ask the midwife at my appointment on Thursday.

I feel like everyone else had their midwife appointment at 16 weeks but mine is at 18 weeks for some reason...

CityKity · 13/03/2023 22:26

@Narwhal88 I’m totally with you on the hip pain. I’m hating trying to side sleep, and also end up tossing and turning all night.

I also had my midwife appointment a bit later than usual. Mine was last week and I was 19 weeks at the time. My midwife is so lovely, but it was just a check in which I suppose can be done at any time, I don’t thing the additional weeks affect or change the appointment in any way.

Rowanandremy · 13/03/2023 23:13

@MinnieFirstTimeMum congrats on your boy!

@DesertSnow its so interesting hearing how many girls and how many boys there are. I’m also really admiring all of those who aren’t finding out.

@jjeanii so sorry you are having awful dreams, mine have eased a bit from every single night getting them to every other night but they are still awful.

@P1pk @Narwhal88 @CityKity a few of us with hip pain, mines only my right hip (so far) but I just can’t get comfortable at all. I wasn’t sure about going to the doctors with it or if I should wait until I see my midwife in 2 weeks.

P1pk · 13/03/2023 23:39

@Narwhal88 in some ways your lucky you're seeing midwife this week so you can ask about the pain! I don't see mine for another 7weeks!

@CityKity @Rowanandremy I am defo going to call the community midwife team tomorrow because my pains last through the day too.

BMK · 14/03/2023 00:40

Helloo all! Whomever has gone on holiday,maybe @UsernameNotPresent ,very lucky and hope you're having a fantastic time. For all those with leg or any cramps definitely take magnesium to stop those as some can be debilitating and they tend to get worse.
I weirdly have had blood in my throat every morning almost (*only if I try cough it up) since approx when became pregnant. I thought it was sth malign like throat cancer or etc but now wondering if linked to pregnancy. Am waiting on appt but interesting to hear re nosebleeds etc.
I think half of my problem is eating too much bread/carbs and constipation/bread belly as when that moves off I could nearly pass for not noticeable despite 20wks. Yet post bread etc it's a totally! different story!!!

BMK · 14/03/2023 00:43

Ps @sally16 where have you gone??
