@DesertSnow I think the gender idea is a lovely one too! I’ll also be sticking to team 💛. I thought I was erring towards preferring a girl (secretly) BUT now we’ve got one or two boys names that me and DH both like and agree on I’m really excited for either! Turns out I just couldn’t picture a boy because I could find the ‘right’ name 😅. Now we have names for both that we like - let’s just see what we get!

Honestly (and please don’t take this the wrong way) @Nic2908 your news has really shaken me this week, hence being quiet on here. I’m really anxious for the 20week scan, and although I’m 18.5 weeks now I still have 4 weeks to wait. I’m second guessing everything I’ve been doing (baths, exercising, certain medications, fainting!) even though the rational part of my brain knows that it’s ridiculous, I’m just really worried about the outcome of the scan. I thought I felt some flutters last week, but this week not so much, which is another thing that’s making me stress out a bit.

ANYWAY in happier news, we’re also likely to make an offer on a house this weekend, which is terrifying financially.
God I want a holiday somewhere warm (all paid for by someone else) so I can stop adulting and worrying for a split second!

JT2021 · 03/03/2023 11:33

Hi everyone - hope you’re all keeping well! The second trimester weird dreams have started for me now… anyone else getting this?!

I mentioned earlier in the week that I went for a gender scan… baby all healthy and measuring well which makes me feel relieved. We found out that the baby is… a boy! 💙

I feel terrible to say it but I felt a little sad that my gut feeling it was a girl was totally wrong. Everyone around me has being saying it was a boy so not sure how I didn’t feel that… I feel like I don’t really know myself in pregnancy. ☹️ Either way it has taken a few days to mentally get my head around it but he is healthy and that’s the main thing!

Also the scan was such a blur, I remember being shown he was a boy but the million pictures we have from the scan I can’t really see it obviously… I’ve seen other women with their ‘it’s a boy’ scan pictures and it is so clear. I’m just hoping all is well for the 20 week scan in 2 weeks and we will be able to see our boy properly even for a couple of seconds.

@AnnieApple123 could I be added to the list for 8 August due date please?

BoodifulGoose · 03/03/2023 11:52

@JT2021 I had my gender scan last night, and (after an hour of trying and a break 😂!) she finally got the shot on screen and pointed out what we were seeing and asked us if we knew what it was, I could VERY clearly see it was a girl and she didn't seem to have any doubt either, but I also can't tell at all from the photos she sent with me!
Looks like the photos are way blurrier than the image I saw, so I'm almost nervous to tell people just incase but my fiance is buzzing 😂

From what I've read boy results are generally less incorrect than girl! X

jjeanii · 03/03/2023 11:58

Is anyone else feeling any tightening and hardness like early braxton hicks ? I get this happening a lot and I've been told I have an anterior placenta so won't feel kicks till later , I'm feeling a bit reassured when the tightness happens. This is my 4th pregnancy so think that is why I'm noticing it more

jjeanii · 03/03/2023 12:14

@JT2021 Yes I'd say about 5 nights a week I have absolutely bizarre dreams ! I really don't like most of them , not nightmares as such but they are like crazy and don't make sense at all .

JT2021 · 03/03/2023 12:22

I’m not doubting it’s a boy… it just didn’t really clearly look like a boy from what I remember @BoodifulGoose … I do think I was just overwhelmed with what I had just found out and wasn’t really focussed as best as I should have been.

DH also feels the same… it was all so overwhelming and luckily baby was cooperating so I can’t blame him! I just don’t remember clearly seeing he was a boy, so I just don’t think that’s helped the mental process with taking it all in.

We’ve only told family it’s a boy so far as I just want that proper confirmation at 20 weeks (and hopefully to see it now I won’t be as overwhelmed with emotion!)

Congratulations on your little girl btw! 💖

Huge apologies if I've got anything wrong!

ChloeN · 03/03/2023 12:52

@DesertSnow yep you’ve got mine right 🥰🥰

DesertSnow · 03/03/2023 12:53

@JT2021 I think it's totally understandable to have mixed feelings after your gender scan. And don't forget you're contending with all the hormones too! Congrats on your little boy and wonderful news he's healthy 💙 Definitely with you on the weird dreams front! So vivid and oftentimes disturbing!

DesertSnow · 03/03/2023 12:59

Can't remember if I said congrats to you or not yet @BoodifulGoose! How lovely. I'm excited to see some more of the yellow hearts turn pink or blue.

Gizzyanne · 03/03/2023 13:03

@DesertSnow thank you 🧡!

how’s everyone feeling as their 20 week scan approaches? Have you had appointments through yet? I couldn’t wait any longer and booked a private one for next week but going to wait till NHS one to confirm gender before revealing it to family and friends just in case haha! Xx

Spiralout · 03/03/2023 13:20

@jjeanii @JT2021 I’m in the bizarre dreams club too. They are so vivid and realistic but then totally crazy plots. I did actually manage to sleep 7 hours last night without waking up for a wee which was a nice change 😂

Thank you @DesertSnow for updating the list. My EDD is right and we are expecting a boy here 💙 - we found out from the NIPT blood test very early on.

ChloeN · 03/03/2023 13:21

@Gizzyanne I couldn’t wait either so I’m so glad I had the private one at the weekend! Not for gender but just my anxiety🤣 my 20 week is less than 2 weeks away!

DesertSnow · 03/03/2023 13:24

Congrats @Spiralout 💙 I've made a note and will update yours next time I do the list - which may not be till the next thread.

@Gizzyanne I'm nervous in case there's something wrong. I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and not felt movement yet. I am excited to hopefully find out 💙 or 💗 though. Mine won't be till I'm nearly 22 weeks as DH is away so still feels like a long wait!

Rowanandremy · 03/03/2023 13:54

@JT2021 congratulations on your little boy! With my dd I just knew it was a girl, I expected to have the same instinct for this one but didn’t. At all. I had no feeling of whether it was a boy or girl, everyone around me was saying girl but I was clueless. I also had no clue during the scan, dw did and I was laying there like ‘is anyone going to tell me what we’re having’ 😂 even with pointed out where his winky is I was still a bit like ‘uh huh’ 😂

@DesertSnow thank you for updating the list, you got everything right for me.

@jjeanii @JT2021 @Spiralout Im also having dreams, some are horrendous and a bit unsettling when I wake up and others are just bizarre and make no sense at all. I can’t remember exactly when they stopped last time but I know I was 30 ish weeks plus. Hoping it’s not like that this time!

allgoodthings84 · 03/03/2023 14:03

I’m only 14+6 weeks but will be having a private gender scan between 17-18 weeks. I can’t book it until I know my partners working days at weekends as I can only do weekends and he’s retail management so always works one weekend day and he’s starting a new job tomorrow so doesn’t have his shifts yet. I’m just hoping it’s not all booked up by the time we know as he’s training all next week so might not even find out until the following week. I don’t want to go without him as he’s so excited to go.

I’m so scared to go though as I’m at that stage of not feeling pregnant and after 2 miscarriages before this pregnancy it’s causing me anxiety

BCxx · 03/03/2023 14:18

I am desperately hanging off to have it confirmed it’s a girl next week then I’m going all out with the zippy sleepsuits 😂 @sally16 im amazed at the amount of places that do them now, 2 years ago with my son there was hardly any apart from a few select expensive places!

unluckyinlife · 03/03/2023 14:25

@Gizzyanne I don't think I'll accept that this pregnancy might lead to a baby for me until the 20 week scan. We were told the baby was high risk for nural tube defects and more specifically spinal bifidia. I was told that all appeared normal at 12 week scan but I know that it is often not seen until 20 weeks so when I have that I'll know either way.

My scan was meant to be at 19 weeks (I'm not sure why but the doctor specifically requested it) but I delayed it until 19 plus 3 as my husband could come with me for reassurance. He hasn't seen the baby on a scan yet so I'm hoping it makes it more real to him.

My scan is 3rd of April (If that's the Monday at 3pm) x

Miraclesdohappen88 · 03/03/2023 14:40

Thanks for the list @DesertSnow so lovely to see some of the hearts pink and blue and all the yellow ones too.

Had a scan today and I think it's a boy from what I could see, I don't mind if it's a boy or a girl just grateful to be finally pregnant and carrying a baby ☺️. Big scan next week it's all starting to get very exciting.

BCxx · 03/03/2023 15:13

@Miraclesdohappen88 are you finding out next week? Glad all went well today

AnnieApple123 · 03/03/2023 16:04

That looks great @DesertSnow . Am happy to take over again anytime you like. Just didn’t want to monopolise.

@unluckyinlife I’m determined to stay 💛all through now too. I thought it might be tempting to find out, given that all it would take would be a call to the NIPT clinic, but it actually hasn’t been at all and I’m also enjoying the surprise.

@BMK Yes I’ve done a prenatal exercise video so far everyday in March. It’s only the 3rd though so I don’t really deserve much credit yet!

@Marmaladebear and @BMK I’ve booked to do a two part hypnobirthing refresher course for second-timers over the Easter break. I’ll let you know what it’s like.

I've been away from this thread a long time! I find it so hard to keep up with. I'm so sorry to hear @Nic2908 news. That's so heartbreaking, and hope you're doing as well as you can be.

I've been away from here dealing with work, but also have found my mood is very up and down (mostly due to stress) so have been trying to prioritise getting outside for runs and walks again whenever I feel like I can, and just trying to pick up my creative hobbies again. Managed a 2.5k run with my 2.5 Yr old in the running buggy yesterday, which made me feel a lot better. Still exhausted, but a revelation that I could actually run!

Also been trying to deal with my in laws weirdness about my pregnancy. Poor SIL has been trying for her second for 14 months with no luck and is upset that we're pregnant. MIL also being weird. Basically they're both really lovely and fine with me, but if I mention anything that reminds them im pregnant they look really awkward/change the subject. MIL knew I was at hospital for appointment on Tues evening and saw me first thing Wed, but didn't ask how hosp went. Hasn't mentioned the pregnancy once since we told her. Hasn't asked how I'm feeling. Really really happy not being centre of attention (generally prefer to be in the background) but I feel awkward whenever I'm with my in laws and there's something very odd about it all. I've had 2 miscarriages in the past too, so it's not like my journey has been straightforward.

@BMK well remembered and thank you so much for asking. The sale went through finally yesterday evening! We're still in shock and it hasn't sunk in that I own half a company. Lots of hard work ahead, just trying to enjoy the relief before the panic and fear of responsibility inevitably set in! How are you?

Marmaladebear · 03/03/2023 17:05

@Createcomet yay congratulations! What a huge thing to have had to do but do glad it all went through with the company sale. Really sorry to hear about what you're dealing with with your in-laws though, I hope things get better with them.

@DesertSnow wow well done with the list, what a huge effort. All good for me too - cannot wait to find out the gender but have another 3+ weeks until our NHS scan 😭

@AnnieApple123 thank you! Keen to hear about it and know if you recommend. I'll probably dust off some of my old hypnobirthing material at about 20 weeks - it did really help with labour even if everything didn't ultimately go to plan. Also planning to buy some of those affirmation cards - had them last time but then chucked them in the bin during the newborn stage when I thought I was one and done 😂

Feeling good today that I finally got my bum into gear and contacted some estate agents to find out commission rates to sell our house. We are planning to move from London to Manchester before the baby comes but the first trimester knocked me sideways so I've literally done nothing about it until now so felt really good to actually do something!!

We have a couple of things we definitely need to do before we get a valuation (eg: the floor in the kitchen is literally broken and needs fixing) but apart from that from speaking to the estate agents it sounds like we just need to give the place a tidy up and we will get a good price. We very luckily and completely accidentally bought our house in the catchment area of 2 of the best comprehensive schools for where we live so people literally buy houses on our street just to get into the schools. This is obviously very annoying because it means good school places are going to people who can literally afford to buy their way in but on the flip side for us it means there's a demand for our street so fingers crossed when we do go on the market we'll sell quickly 🤞🏽🤞🏽

newmummie · 03/03/2023 17:22

Hiya everyone 🥰 how is everyone doing? What's everyone's current symptoms? And what is your bumps like? My symptoms seemed to have died down & no bump whatsoever (it's my first) but I had my 16w appt today and baby's heart was beating away at 149bpm!
