@Nic2908 I have been thinking about you and hoping to hear from you again , just wanted you to know that xx

DesertSnow · 02/03/2023 19:59

@Nic2908 I'm ever so sorry to hear what's happened, we're all thinking of you. Really hope you have the support you need around you and give yourself the time, love and rest you need xx

Nic2908 · 03/03/2023 05:07

2 days of no happy exciting chat!! You’re all rubbish (said very much with love) @AnnieApple123 leader I am making you accountable for a change of subject!!!

Miraclesdohappen88 · 03/03/2023 07:37

@Nic2908 I'm so so sorry to hear this news, thinking of you and sending you lots of love. 🤍🤍🤍

unluckyinlife · 03/03/2023 08:00

How far is everyone now and how are they feeling?

I'm feeling reasonable. Aside from some nasty sinus headaches everyday since Monday! I'm recovering from what was 100 percent the worst cough I have ever had so haven't done my daily prenatal yoga for a week.

I'm hoping to get back to that tomorrow. It's my 5 year wedding anniversary today so we're having a curry tonight from our favourite place and it's all I've been thinking about since yesterday!

We've not really been spending anything recently as we were waiting for our full mortgage offer which we received yesterday 🤍

BoodifulGoose · 03/03/2023 08:00

I feel nervous that it's insensitive to post my news when there's been such hard news to deal with but I'll fire on with your latest post Nic, I'm in awe of your attitude dealing with this 💙

BoodifulGoose · 03/03/2023 08:05

Found out after much stubbornness from baby that we're having a girl 🥰💙

I'm totally shocked, no idea why but I was convinced it was a boy 😅

We had absolutely no names for boys, but I'd had a name picked out for a girl for the past couple of years! Fiance seemed on the fence about it but when we found out she was a girl, he said "well at least we don't have to think of a name!" and has been referring to her by her name and talking to/about her a lot more than he was before we knew which is melting my heart, so cute 💙

She also has SUCH LONG LEGS 😂
I think we'll tell people she's a she but will keep her name to ourselves for a while. Not sure why just a feeling I have!

BoodifulGoose · 03/03/2023 08:06

@unluckyinlife congrats on your anniversary! What curry do you get? My favourite place shut down 5 years ago and I'm still searching for a curry to replace the Sitari Tikka Balti they had, no Balti compares 😭

nadsc · 03/03/2023 08:58

@Nic2908 sorry to hear your news - hope you’re okay ❤️

@BoodifulGoose congrats! Having a girl is the best 💕

@unluckyinlife enjoy your curry! Happy anniversary

I’m 17 weeks today, it’s starting to go fast now. I had my first midwife appointment yesterday, heard the heartbeat and now I won’t be seeing a midwife until 28 weeks. Feels like so long away.
I have booked my 4D scan for around 30 weeks, I never had one with my daughter so I’m looking forward to that. I will be having growth scans again with this baby and a glucose tests so just waiting for those appointments to come through.

hope everyone else is doing well 💕💕

AnnieApple123 · 03/03/2023 09:06

Yes hard to change the subject when there’s been such upsetting news. Plus I know so many here have been having a hard time in various ways lately. I am definitely no leader though. In fact I was wondering whether anyone else would like to have a go at doing the list? Am totally happy to keep going it if not but thought I’d put it out there.

unluckyinlife · 03/03/2023 09:17

@BoodifulGoose I get a slow cooked lamb balti, I always call up and ask for it extra hot or traditionally hot, as I love spice and find even their generic hot isn't enough! When I first asked for it, they were so reluctant to give it to me, but I've done it now for nearly 7 years and would not go elsewhere!

I'd actually be devastated if it closed. I hope you find a good replacement soon! Xx

Spiralout · 03/03/2023 09:25

Started a new job on Wednesday. Been nosing through the mat leave policies. Wasn’t expecting to qualify for much given I’m 18 weeks but I will get 6 weeks full pay and then onto Maternity Allowance. Amazingly if I had been there for the qualifying period before baby I would get 6 month’s full pay from the company!
Most annoying is that it looks like I don’t qualify for shared parental leave as my husband would have got 8 weeks full pay from his work for SPL :(

unluckyinlife · 03/03/2023 09:34

@nadsc wow that's exciting! I'm 15 weeks today and have my next appointment on the 17th with a consultant. I'm not sure if they'll try and find the heartbeat but I hope they do as it still doesn't feel real!

Right now my next appointment after that is the first week of June (I have no idea how far I'll be then probably around 28 weeks) for my glucose test.

I had growth scans with my previous pregnancies but they decided these weren't needed this time.

unluckyinlife · 03/03/2023 09:36

@Spiralout that's really good. I only get SMP with my job but luckily that should be topped up by dividends so we'll manage. Do you get 6 full weeks and then the SMP 6 weeks at 90% before it goes to 150 a week?

I'm the only female in my workplace, only one of my other directors knows about the pregnancy and the other is likely to kick off, so I'm avoiding telling him until my 20 week scan as I'm a bit of a chicken.

I've only seen him once since being over 12 weeks, and was wearing a thick coat so he was nome the wiser!

Spiralout · 03/03/2023 09:40

@unluckyinlife it’s just the 6 weeks at 100% and then down to £156 a week. We’ll manage as my husband will be earning but definitely cutting back and saving now while we can.

That must be tough being the only female. Good luck for when you tell them! I am going to wait until I’ve been there a month as I want to try to make a good impression before I undo that by saying I’m pregnant! The latest I can tell them is 22 April.

The good thing about a new job is that no one knows my weight/shape so I’m pretty sure no one’s guessed as I’m on the heavier side anyway. Still fitting into “normal” clothes for now although my tights were giving me heartburn yesterday afternoon 😂😂

Marmaladebear · 03/03/2023 09:43

@Nic2908 sorry!! will try to post something fun now! I think anything I thought of that I wanted to post just seemed so trivial in comparison so that stopped me saying anything.

@unluckyinlife happy anniversary! Hope you have a great time ♥️

@BoodifulGoose congratulations! 💕 Very exciting xxx

@AnnieApple123 it's great that you do the list but honestly as someone who is also pregnant with a toddler you have a lot on so if you don't want to do the list and no one wants to take over we could always just not have one. We didn't have one for the last Mumsnet thread I was on for my son and still made really good friends with everyone on there and it was still really fun!

Ok something fun and exciting - I'm off work for a week from the end of today. We have a toddler party on Sunday then from Monday-Thursday I'm going to a family friendly spa that I posted about a few weeks ago. So so excited. You get 90 mins childcare included each day so we've booked my son in for that and I've booked a prenatal massage and my husband has a massage booked too. Excited to go on a holiday and actually get some rest!

ChloeN · 03/03/2023 09:56

@Marmaladebear ahh I’m so jealous of your massage😍😍 hope you have a lovely time!

I can’t remember if I said or not but I had my early anomaly scan on Sunday, I was anxious since I didn’t get the screening at 12 weeks but luckily everything looks perfect ☺️

sally16 · 03/03/2023 10:00

For any bonds wondersuit fans..
Morrisons has 2 way zip sleep suits..
don't walk.. run!

Less than £10 for 2!! I need to wait till tomorrow till after gender scan but I'm so excited 🤣

unluckyinlife · 03/03/2023 10:01

@Spiralout that's still really good. My husband will be earning but sadly having to stay away Monday to Thursday through most of the baby's first year. I haven't really come to terms with it yet as we've only ever spent a handful of nights away from each other. I'm sure we'll be fine but scared of the adjustment.

I once was offered a job at a previous place of work at 16 weeks. I didn't tell them until 24 weeks as I desperately needed the job and money.

I'm sure it will all be fine, I'm just a bit of a chicken! Xx

unluckyinlife · 03/03/2023 10:02

@Marmaladebear Thank you!

Enjoy your break I'm very jealous!

I'm currently saving my holiday so I can go back 4 days a week for the first 50 weeks I'm back at work following mat leave but am desperately craving time off! Bring on the bank Holiday weekends!

DesertSnow · 03/03/2023 10:14

Still catching up on messages so will have a proper read through later, but just to say I'm happy to take over responsibility for the list if you like @AnnieApple123? Will have a proper look later or over the weekend.

Was also thinking as people are starting to find out what they're having, it might be nice to include that info too, in form of emojis next to EDD (blue/pink/yellow heart). But only if people think that's a nice idea, feel free to object. I will trawl back through the thread but apologies in advance if I miss anyone.

Marmaladebear · 03/03/2023 10:29

I like that idea @DesertSnow 💛 we still haven't found out the gender yet but an desperate to know 😂 we are trying to wait until 20 weeks like we did with our son but it was lockdown last time so no one had private gender scans so it's not like we had a choice!

Marmaladebear · 03/03/2023 10:31

Thanks @ChloeN and @unluckyinlife, will let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed my son likes the kids club!!

BMK · 03/03/2023 10:45

@Nic2908 I was really sad to read that,so unexpected and so sad having come so far,you really wouldn't be thinking that was something that would be a realistic discovery at a scan,or at least I would never be expecting that after the first few weeks. However we're not in control anyhow so have to roll with what comes our way,but it doesn't make it easier on your feelings..Have you had many early Easter Eggs and anything else ? Weekend away/spa/anything to take your mind off??
@AnnieApple123 maybe just copy and paste said list and don't update or maybe do 1 final update on like May1st or sth? Have you done any of your online classes? I finally found a yoga teacher and am in such pain after just 1session,albeit normal when I do NO exercise!! Also Hypnobirthing is sth I would be v interested in. I would love some kind of semi relaxing experience that I'm in control of etc.
I have this mad craving to go swimming, despite not being able to swim really. @createcomet how is takeover etc going and @unluckyinlife congrats on the mortgage approval.

unluckyinlife · 03/03/2023 10:46

@DesertSnow I think that would be a lovely idea. I know some in group already know and I'm struggling to remember and feel awful thinking I need to ask again! I'm intending on staying team yellow until Birth! I thought I'd have some doubts by now but I'm anything I'm more excited for the surprise x
