Hi all! 😊

I got my bfp yesterday and although it's super early days (I'm only 12dpo), from looking at the NHS pregnancy calculator, I'd be due 2nd November...
Just thought I'd make this thread for anyone who has recently got their bfps and are due in November-time!

I thought we could use it to discuss how we are feeling, any symptoms/lack of symptoms we have etc. and just a safe place for a chat with people in the same boat!

Congratulations to everyone who have got their bfps and sending lots of sticky baby dust to all! 🤞✨💕

How are people with dealing with not being able to share the news? I was doing martial arts 2-3 times a week and I've had to stop going. People are now asking where I am. I can't say I'm injured/ill as some of them also train at my other gym where I do weights etc so may see me and don't want to get caught out lying.

At the moment I am saying I've got a lot on at work but that will only last so long as I am never ever away for longer than a week or two.

Question for anyone that’s had an early scan - are they likely to be able to pick up a heartbeat at 7w2d although I know I ovulated around 24th feb which would technically only put me at 4w2d at the time of the scan? Or am I better to hold off another week? I keep cramping and I’m getting a bit paranoid, not sure I can wait another week!

addictedtotheflats · 20/03/2023 16:55

@DollyGx A lot of scans are minimum 6 weeks, you are very unlikely to see a heartbeat at 4 weeks. Im 4+2 aswell and getting crampy shooting pains which are usually normal 🥰

Report
addictedtotheflats · 20/03/2023 16:55

@DollyGx sorry I misread, you would see a heartbeat at 7 weeks 🥰

Mldn · 20/03/2023 16:59

@DollyGx - I had a scan yesterday which was 7 weeks after my LMP & there was a strong heartbeat. If I was to go by ovulation, which was 12th Feb, I’d have been 5 weeks yesterday. But they go by your LMP as to if you’re far enough along to be tested. If you’re 6 weeks pst LMP, they can test you but the heartbeat may not be there at 6 weeks. I went yesterday purely due to anxiety.. over nothing really! So silly, but relieved I did it.

Travellingislife · 20/03/2023 17:02

@bakugo that’s a tricky one, if it involves kicking and throwing I would probably stay away. Can you say you’re focussing on other types of training for a while? Then you can go to the gym but won’t have to lie about being injured.
@DollyGx would you be 7 weeks according to your last period? But you ovulated late and you know you’re only 4 weeks? If that’s the case I would definitely hold off until 6-7 weeks, dating from ovulation.

Report
Mldn · 20/03/2023 17:09

I’d agree with @Travellingislife & try & hood out a little longer @DollyGx It seems from LMP we date the same at 7+2. However, I ovulated 12th Feb compared to your 24th Feb. I only measured 7 weeks yesterday, so I’d imagine you’d be a few weeks behind due to the 12 day difference in ovulation.

DollyGx · 20/03/2023 17:16

@addictedtotheflats @Mldn @Travellingislife thanks for your replies, so helpful! Sorry I maybe never worded it very well, I would be 7w2d based on LMP, but I know it was only 4 weeks ago that I ovulated. If I waited until 6/7 weeks after ovulation then I would be “clinically” 9/10 weeks by that point. Think I might just chance it and hope for the best. After a missed miscarriage last year my paranoia is just through the roof! @Mldn so glad your scan went well! 🥰

DollyGx · 20/03/2023 17:21

@Mldn I’m only 6+3 at the moment, would be 7+2 by Sunday which was when I was planning on going for the scan, am I jumping the gun a bit?! 😬😬

Booked an early scan for when I am 8 weeks - despite 6 pregnancy tests I still don't believe I'm pregnant I'm completely in denial! Anyone else feel like this?

Report
Mldn · 20/03/2023 17:29

@DollyGx thank you! Ahhh I see, so we aren’t the same now. I’m not sure, they judge it on your LMP, so I think you could still go. Although if you ovulated slightly later maybe hold off a week if you can. I would’ve ovulated 5 weeks before my scan. I would’ve been so gutted & worried had I left yesterday & there was no heartbeat due even to later ovulation & measuring smaller. But I feel you, the anxiety is unreal & I have never miscarried, fortunately, so I completely understand why you feel how you do!

Travellingislife · 20/03/2023 17:40

@DollyGx ah ok! Sunday shouldn’t be too early for a scan then I think. I went at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat which was amazing. I had an early loss in December so I completely understand your worry.

Report
DollyGx · 20/03/2023 18:13

@Mldn i know that’s my concern! 😭 I think I’ll try and hold off another week!
@Travellingislife sorry to hear about your previous loss. Thank you that’s reassuring, I think I’m going to try and hold out just a little bit longer due to my silly late ovulation! If the next 2 weeks can just fly by that would be much appreciated 😅

@Chip131 i have felt the same - today I’ve felt less nauseous, but I’ve just been physically sick after feeling so full up from a bowl of Shreddies! Also, have my first lingering headache, that’s been here since about midday. Are paracetamol okay to take? But still, concerned my symptoms have changed & I just feel like I have a bug today rather than pregnancy! I think these 12 weeks are so nerve wracking & we will worry over everything. Hope you’re feeling okay x

Any ladies that have had a private early scan around 7-8 weeks, do they use abdominal scan? I had one about 7 weeks in my last pregnancy but was nhs and that was abdominal. X

Report
Mldn · 20/03/2023 20:34

@Mrsrobinsonx i had a private scan yesterday at 7+2 & it was vaginally. By a male sonographer, which I didn’t know until I got there! But it was absolutely fine. Worst part was the silence for first minute or two whilst they looked around for the baby & at my ovaries x

@Chip131 I think and as someone's already pointed out symptoms come and go. I felt like death itself on Saturday, then things eased up yesterday and of course I began to worry. Never fear, felt ill all day today and I've only felt half normal this evening. Still had to work, diy and walk the dog 😵‍💫How do women do itwhen having a second or third child??

@NatGee you know weirdly, the exhaustion has hit differently this pregnancy. With my first I'd never felt tiredness like it and was literally falling asleep at my desk etc. This time round I've had some super tired moments but nearly always been able to rally/keep going. I'm putting it down to having survived a newborn phase and then adjusting to different sleep with an infant. I think I run better on an emptier tank than I used to! Haha!

I totally agree re worrying about symptoms, I’ve been feeling nauseous since week 5+3 but not much else ( 7 weeks today). Well the last two days I’ve gone off coffee totally and I LOVE coffee!
I’m a fitness tracker fanatic and the pregnancy trend is basically higher rhr and lower hrv but now my trends are getting better.. When I lost my pregnancy in December they overnight went back to pre pregnancy stats and that’s when I knew I had lost it, I also didn’t “ feel” pregnant anymore. Now the trends are still not like pre pregnancy and I feel pregnant but it still worries me. Arghh I should take it off but I can’t help myself!! I’ve been quite zen about this and telling myself that I’m pregnant at this moment of time and what will be, will be, but today I’m just feeling super anxious..
Not sure why I’m writing this, to get it off my chest maybe.
I’m sorry if I’m causing anyone else to worry now 🥹
