Hi all! 😊

I got my bfp yesterday and although it's super early days (I'm only 12dpo), from looking at the NHS pregnancy calculator, I'd be due 2nd November...
Just thought I'd make this thread for anyone who has recently got their bfps and are due in November-time!

I thought we could use it to discuss how we are feeling, any symptoms/lack of symptoms we have etc. and just a safe place for a chat with people in the same boat!

Congratulations to everyone who have got their bfps and sending lots of sticky baby dust to all! 🤞✨💕

Thanks @Travellingislife - yes, I think I could defo get away with not drinking as my friends all think I’m in marathon training. So maybe I just need to do that! I just feel so emotionally off, I can’t explain it. Same here - up until this weekend, I’ve been fairly good at getting myself out the door to swim or run as I know till make me feel better. But my symptoms have rocketed the last few days and I just feel gross. What a moan hey! Hoping these feelings subside quickly x

Travellingislife · 19/03/2023 10:19

For people asking and wondering about exercise in pregnancy, this is a good podcast: Midwife pip, podcast, episode 89. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/midwife-pip-podcast/id1524209425?i=1000591871173
She also has lots of articles and other podcasts talking about exercise in pregnancy.
There is so much benefit from exercising in pregnancy and it really makes me sad to see that midwives and NHS ( not all!) in general don’t keep up with the research, some might even scare women so much with their ill-informed advice that they will not train at all.

Travellingislife · 19/03/2023 10:21

@Mldn it’s horrible feeling like this and I’ve not got it that bad yet. Fingers crossed you’ll feel better soon!

Mldn · 19/03/2023 10:46

@Travellingislife thank you! I’ve just buckled & booked a scan for today at 5pm. Gonna go out for some fresh air now, will give the podcast a listen & hopefully by this evening I’ll be less anxious 🤞🏼

Regarding exercise - do you do any core work? I usually do reformer Pilates 4x a week. But stopped as soon as I found out cos I read that core work can harm the baby? So many myths I dunno what to believe! I’m happy to be overly cautious but I am losing my sanity right now.

Sorry to everyone for my extremely negative Sunday morning moans! x

38andtrying · 19/03/2023 10:47

I am on here worrying all the time, so sorry lol I am 6 weeks today and I am super anxious about If things are still progressing, my boobs are tender but not as sore as they were, i am so worried about another missed miscarriage. I have a scan this coming Saturday and I cant wait for it and also I don't want it to come incase it is bad news.

Is it normal that your books feel fuller and tender but not sore ? I just wish there was a synptom that would confirm things, it's such a mind f*ck pregnancy after miscarriage, I go between feeling positive to thinking ah of course its going to happen again. It's horribly upsetting

babybrain23 · 19/03/2023 10:52

6 weeks and taken a turn!
My heart rate on my fitness watch is through the roof, resting 90-93 coming from 50 pre pregnancy.
Feeling really sick the past few days too, no appetite bit of a sore throat too so I'm thinking it's actually illness rather than pregnancy related but I don't know.
Was booked for a scan today but the doctor just cancelled 😪

EBeans · 19/03/2023 10:53

@Mldn what a nightmare of a day, fingers crossed it's one of the more horrible ones and they get better from here! Probably best your partner was out, I came home from my run/walk like a dragon, the most foul mood and not helped by the fact we then had a three hour drive to his parents 🤣 the grumpiness is something else! I can't tell if it's the pregnancy hormones or me with the face on because I have no sport outlet at the moment!

Just read you're going for a scan today, hope it goes well! Mine made me anxiety almost disappear. We told my OHs parents this weekend and telling mine next, and I've told a couple of friends which has helped take a weight off.

Mldn · 19/03/2023 10:56

Haha - I agree @EBeans i am being so irrational I feel sorry for him. They have it easy in terms of pregnancy.. but omg the grief my partner is getting already. Poor lad doesn’t know how to act around me 😂

Thanks love! Hoping it’ll make me feel somewhat more relaxed. Although, if I see 2 like you did, I may panic! Shall update later 🤞🏼 have a lovely Sunday x

MooseWL · 19/03/2023 11:11

@Peasinapod1 I have the saliva too and it's almost worse than the sickness. I also had to get squash but now the sweetness is making it worse but water also I can't bear the thought of water!
@Mldn @ebeans Also feeling similar. So sick of just wanting to lie on the sofa. I'm not a runner and I don't exercise loads but I can't bring myself to even go outside. I don't want to see anyone cos I've not told anyone and I can't pretend not to feel awful. I've got a scan booked at 9 weeks as it's the earliest date they had that both me and my partner could do but I wish it was sooner.
Let us know how yours goes today! Hope it eases your anxiety.

MooseWL · 19/03/2023 11:12

@38andtrying I've not had sore boobs at all though they're definitely fuller and didn't in my last pregnancy either.8n

Mldn · 19/03/2023 11:13

@MooseWL that is the exact way I feel - hibernate as I can’t pretend I feel okay, physically or mentally. Hoping it eases some anxiety today at least & then it isn’t too much longer before I can start telling people. Hope your day isn’t too bad today x

NatGee · 19/03/2023 12:22

Ladies please i need some advice/info: woke up to a tiny bit of brown spotting when I wiped. There's been no further discharge since and I have no pain/cramping. Yesterday I had such bad nausea but today I feel mostly fine. Do I need to start worrying? Does nausea come and go? I'm 6+1 today

EBeans · 19/03/2023 13:07

@MooseWL as terrible as it sounds I'm so glad I'm not alone in this. We've just had a walk down to the beach with the dog and I am done, ready to see the rest of the day out on the sofa!

@Mldn my other half has dodged any of my moods today, think he thinks Christmas has come early! 🤣 hoping for you that it's the one baby, we're still processing the two... not sure if knowing it's two is what's actually made me feel more nauseous.

Pip1402 · 19/03/2023 13:41

@EBeans @Mldn @MooseWL
I'm glad to know I'm not alone too. I feel rotten and don't want to do anything. The sun's shining but I can't face leaving my bed.

I'm feeling a bit lonely as I haven't told anyone other than dp and he's gone out with his dm today.

Mldn · 19/03/2023 13:43

@Pip1402 hope you feel better, the loneliness is defo something I can sympathise with! My bf was out all day yesterday, which is absolutely fine. But omg did I feel sorry for myself, in bed all day, nauseous, tired & very lonely. Hoping it’s a feeling that passes for us all x

Pip1402 · 19/03/2023 13:46

Thanks @Mldn I'm sorry you had a similar day but it's so nice to be able to speak to someone who understands x

EBeans · 19/03/2023 13:58

@Pip1402 sending lots of love, we're all in this (very rocky!) boat together.

It's definitely very lonely - my OH is being amazing and so helpful but I can't help but feel he just doesn't quite 'get it' sometimes. I'm lucky that my close friend had a baby in January so she remembers the rough first trimester well but it's still a very lonely time. Looking forward to being able to tell more people and join antenatal classes etc. It's lovely to have other people at the same stage to talk to here x

Pip1402 · 19/03/2023 14:11

Ah thanks @EBeans really appreciate the reply. It's good you have an understanding friend. I haven't told any of mine yet but am considering telling one soon. I think dp is sick of me talking about nothing else!

Congratulations on your twins! That must have been quite a surprise! I hope we all start to feel a bit better soon x

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 19/03/2023 15:14

@Fox01 soo sorry to hear that xx

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 19/03/2023 15:16

@EBeans @Mldn @MooseWL thank god I'm not the only one my moods have been absolutely awful today flipping at nothing oh done a runner out of my sight lol

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 19/03/2023 15:17

@NatGee all symptoms come and go. Has the brown discharge stopped? Do you have a scan booked in soon to ease some anxiety?

MooseWL · 19/03/2023 15:24

@natgee I had slight brown discharge when I wiped early last week - but it was a tiny amount and it was just one day. I think it's quite common, and unless it continues or turns to bleeding/ heavy then I wouldn't worry.

NatGee · 19/03/2023 16:05

@MooseWL @ExcitedandNervousC1 thank you for replying and reassuring me Yes it was just a v small amount in the morning and it's not continued. I also feel fine as in no pain. Im not feeling particularly anxious so made no plans for an early scan, I'm pretty much a que sera, sera type person. Thanks again how are you both? Xx

BettylovesAugust · 19/03/2023 17:45

Checking in - eight weeks today. I have hyperemesis and its really, really miserable. Really struggling atm, GP has prescribed meds (alternating two different ones so I can take them at regular intervals) plus an anti reflux pill. Nothing is helping, really. Feeling constantly nauseous, like sea sick and living off apples, toast, crackers and ginger tea - but nothing stays down for long. I want to be excited and really hope this eases soon.

TTCJJB · 19/03/2023 17:48

Sorry to hear you're struggling, keep pestering the doctor and try and change your meds.
How long have you been suffering for?
