Pregnant after IVF

Is anyone out there pregnant after IVF? I'm on an IVF thread but don't want to keep posting about being pregnant when women there are still going through treatment and also getting BFNs.

I had my first round of IVF in November and we got 2 embryos. My first fresh transfer failed and I'm now 5+2 after our frozen transfer.

I'm feeling a bit wobbly today because my symptoms (cramping and super sore boobs) seem to have disappeared, even though I got 3+ on a digital test yesterday.

Just fancy talking to other women who are pregnant after treatment and can relate to all the emotion and worries.

@Dbop100 my clinic said its perfectly safe as the placenta takes over around weeks 8-10. I'm not sure that the placenta will be visible on ultrasound just yet. I'm sure it is fine as it's the clinics policy and they do 10 weeks for everyone. Anyway they've discharged me so not even sure if I can go back to them for more drugs. Hmm...

@Laura23FE thanks, that makes sense! I'll be glad to stop, I'm currently on estrogen pills 4x a day plus estrogen patches plus cyclogest pessaries plus PIO injections. It's a lot! Xx

@acaciabluebell oh bloody hell that is ALOT, we won’t know what to do with ourselves when we don’t take meds every day 🤣 ease yourself off the pessaries of you are worried about the headaches that some people get, it won’t do any harm 🥰 my patches I’m currently on are 25 micrograms each so I’m having to put 8 on each time, they are so fiddly and annoying haha I definitely can’t wait to stop them🤣

@Laura23FE omg 8 patches!!! Bloody hell I'd run out of space 😂 I currently do one 100mg patch every 3 days haha. R.e progesterone, I will be sooo glad to be done with PIO injections because they hurt like absolute hell!

@acaciabluebell 😂I know! surely they could of just made my life easier and given me the 100mg patch so I would just need 2 😂luckily I don't have any injections, hated doing them for the egg collection 😭not long now and you will be free from them haha

@runningismytherapy @Dbop100 @Purrrrr @acaciabluebell @Laura23FE Thank you all so so much for the reassurance and well wishes yesterday. I had a scan at EPU today and the baby is doing well. There's no sign of blood anywhere around the baby and the heartbeat looked good. Baby was wriggling lots! So the blood is most likely from an irritated cervix. When I saw the GP yesterday before being referred to EPU she took my blood pressure which was through the roof as I'd just come out of the toilet and when I did my urine sample there was quite a bit of red blood.. I've got my first midwife appointment tomorrow and I feel so relieved now after the worry of yesterday.

I had my midwife booking in appt yesterday and it felt so surreal to be finally there after such a long journey. My husband was beaming the whole time, we probably looked like a couple of idiots to be so excited over an admin appt lol 😂

Hey everyone. I am 10+2 today and these past couple of days I've actually been feeling a lot better since I stopped/reduced my meds at 10 weeks. Now I'm worried that something is wrong and my preg symptoms were just from the drugs? The worrying never ends 😭

@acaciabluebell you are definitely not alone in that!!! When I feel better I think uhoh, has it all gone wrong?! But I’m assured my non-IVF pregnant buddies felt the same way. And frequently I then have a day where I feel absolutely awful so I guess it’s just the ups and downs of pregnancy 🤣🤣

@acaciabluebell I felt better around 10 weeks and then felt awful again until around 15/16 weeks.
Currently 34 weeks with my ivf miracle and I tell ya it is just a rollercoaster.
Every day is different atm!!

We just had our private 10 week privacy and baby is healthy and was doing jumps was soooo cute .. baby is showing as 10 weeks 2 days which gives us a due date of the 15th October … which will also be our one year wedding anniversary !!🥹🥹

Awww @Laura23FE thats so amazing! Very special due date too 😍 We have a scan on Tuesday when hopefully baby should be 10 weeks and 1 day. I really hope ours goes well too.

How is everyone? I was one of the later ones to start the ivf process so I imagine some of you are heading towards 12 weeks 🤩

I’ve woken up a few times recently with a sore lower back in the morning which improves as the day goes on. I think it must be positional but seems too early to buy a pregnancy pillow!

@Laura23FE I hope your scan goes well. I will be 12 weeks on Saturday my 12 week scan is next week, very excited to get to that point!

I've actually just ordered a pregnancy pillow, even though it's so early! A friend told me not to wait, she used hers in the whole pregnancy, even before she had a bump and she loved it.

I’ll be 12 weeks tomorrow! I’ve officially taken my last pessary and oestrogen tablet, it feels so weird. My booking in appointment is next week, and I’ll get my scan date then apparently. Such an annoying way of doing it 😂

@Laur0606 I’ve borrowed a pregnancy pillow off my sister already as she no longer uses it, and it’s a godsend already! I’d recommend getting one if you think it will help you as I find I’m sleeping better with it.

I will be 12 weeks next week, which feels insane to say. My scan is the week after on the 3rd. Very nervous!

Have any of you experienced round ligament pain? I've been having aches and pains around my bikini line area for a few days now. It usually gets triggered by coughing, sneezing, stretching etc! Feels like a pulled muscle or something? So weird!

I'm thinking about a pregnancy pillow already, anyone got a type they would recommend? I might try my friends BB Hug me. I'm having to sleep sitting up and to the side because I feel so sick and my guts already feel like they're all sloshing to the side it's such a weird feeling 😵‍💫

10 + 2 today and counting down the days until my 12 week scan and when I can wean off from the progesterone as hoping that will improve my digestion.

No ligament pain sorry that sounds unpleasant @acaciabluebell - still feeling very very sick every day, anyone else find their nausea has improved at all?! Xx

@Dbop100 I actually had 2-3 days with very minimal nausea and thought it was over but today it came back with a vengeance 😅

@Laura23FE little jumps is super cute. So lovely that your due date is your wedding anniversary too. Mine is the Friday 13th of October, but I've been told most babies don't actually come on their due date... my dad was born on Friday the 13th though so I'm not too worried! Haha!

@acaciabluebell I'm also getting that, I sneezed whilst in bed the other night and it made me yelp! I'm hoping after I stop the progesterone it won't be as bad.

I got my NHS scan through in the post yesterday for next Wednesday and I'll be 12 weeks next Friday. We've decided to go for the screening tests so they will also take bloods and measure behind the neck. Is anyone else doing that? I've also not felt as sick the last two days. which I'm glad about but like some others mentioned find a bit disconcerting. Hopefully it just the placenta is taking over.

What pregnacy pillows is everyone looking at? There seems to be so many options. My hips hurt now when I wake up so I'm also thinking of investing in one soon. I used to sleep on my back but have been trying not to now.

@Laura23FE I think I'm the furtherst ahead as I'm 35 weeks tomorrow 😬. Started mat leave this week and trying to sort the last few bits and pack my hospital bag. Being induced at 39 weeks!

@acaciabluebell I had round ligament pain and it started around 14/15 weeks. I remember i got ill then and I was petrified every time I coughed!
Now Ive got the braxton hicks and lightning crotch 😂😂

@MsSandyToes we have the same due date :) My scan is the week after next, closer to 13 weeks. We will be doing the screening tests as well.

R.e pregnancy pillows, I really want one but feel like it's too early for some reason 😂
I have been having back aches from time to time so I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, I think it's caused by the same thing as the round ligament pain. My sleep is not the best these days, I have acid reflux/heartburn and it takes me ages to fall asleep and then I usually have to get up to pee in the middle of the night and then it takes me a while to fall asleep again due to randomly getting nauseous.

I have a pregnancy pillow 😂😂 got it last weekend purely because I knew I would want one at some point so thought why wait haha

@acaciabluebell omg when I sneeze (usually at night and in bed) I get the worst shooting pain near my groin.. used to scare the heck out of me haha

our 12 weeks scan is on the 11th April (when we will actually be 13 weeks pregnant) also booked a private scan in for week 14 so we can find out the sex, too impatient to wait 😭😂 anybody else finding out the sex ?

Hi all, I still have the same back pain that I woke up with yesterday, not sure if I did sleep awkward or if it is muscular. I contacted the midwife and she referred me to EPU saying it’s best to get checked out, now booked for scan 9am tomorrow. So nervous 😬😩

With my daughter, I had a U shape full body pillow and it was the best buy ever. I slept a dream the whole time but unfortunately husband booted it out of our bed after I delivered because it took up so much space. I can’t remember what brand it was though but think I got it on Amazon.
