Pregnant after IVF

Is anyone out there pregnant after IVF? I'm on an IVF thread but don't want to keep posting about being pregnant when women there are still going through treatment and also getting BFNs.

I had my first round of IVF in November and we got 2 embryos. My first fresh transfer failed and I'm now 5+2 after our frozen transfer.

I'm feeling a bit wobbly today because my symptoms (cramping and super sore boobs) seem to have disappeared, even though I got 3+ on a digital test yesterday.

Just fancy talking to other women who are pregnant after treatment and can relate to all the emotion and worries.

@Purrrrr my friend had this and bled heavily from about 10 weeks on and off until about 16 weeks. She obviously thought she was miscarrying the first time it happened and even though she got an explanation, every time it started up again it was quite traumatic for her. But she had some extra scans just to check and reassure and now she’s 22weeks+ with a very healthy looking baby.
I hope it’s not too bad for you and will stop soon.
And happy birthday! 🥳

@Feelslikeforever22 awesome that you had a great time in rome. I used to live just outside it's such an awesome place. I'm off to Lanzarote in a couple of weeks just for a weekend. I'm looking forward to hopefully not obsessing so much too!

@JuliaIVF83 so glad everything went well with your scan. How amazing to hear it and know everything is going well. I can't wait for mine next week!

Very best of luck, @countrypunk with your scan today! Hope all looks great. Delighted to hear yours went well, @JuliaIVF83.
@MsSandyToes I actually have a scan this Friday now! So I'll have one on Friday and on Wed 1st also. When I made contact with my doctor, he wanted to meet me this Friday and is going to scan me. I feel like this wait is so much worse than for a positive! I really am so anxious, even though I've no reason to be. Just petrified it'll be an ectopic, or an empty sack. I think my lack of symptoms is the main reason I'm worrying! But I just keep telling myself that it was a euploid embryo, so hopefully this helps.

Does the worrying ever stop 😵

Hi everyone, it was bad news. The pregnancy has stopped developing and there was no heartbeat. I've been referred to the EPU who will call to discuss my options. I think I can wait for the miscarriage to happen naturally or I can have surgery or take some medication to speed things up.

Devastated doesn't cover it.

I wish everyone all the very best with your pregnancies. I hope I'll be back at some stage. Thank you for all the support - everyone here is amazing.

Love x

oh my gosh @countrypunk - my heart just dropped for you. I went through that on my last round so know how you are feeling. I'm so sorry to hear this - it's just the worst.

Please look after yourself these next few weeks.

If you have any questions about the process just let me know - mine ended naturally after I had finished taking the medication.

Thinking of you so much today. I am really sorry and i'm sure you will be back sooner than you know it! xxxxx

So sorry to hear this @countrypunk I’m so gutted for you 😢

My positive tests with no symptoms have ended in a chemical pregnancy unfortunately. My HCG was only at 22 by 4 weeks and 4 days. Now just waiting for it to pass.

Life is so unfair sometimes but try not to lose hope. We will get our babies one day 🙏🏻 x

@countrypunk that’s so heartbreaking. I’m so sorry you have to go through this. Hope you have all the support you need and are able to take some time to process this.

@BH2023 sorry it’s a chemical. This really is such a difficult process. I hope the pregnancy passes soon and you’re able to move forward.

Your messages have all been so lovely. They've made me (even more) weepy. Thank you. It's fucking hard this IVF lark, and no one really understands except for the people who've been through it. I feel like I want to just get going on a new cycle immediately after I miscarry but my nurse said this morning that I'd probably need to wait 3 months. Silly I know, but if this pregnancy had worked out I'd have given birth while I was still 39. 40 feels like a really scary milestone to me because I know my chances of this working drop off a cliff then.

@BH2023 I'm so sorry to read your update. It's all so cruel. We will get there, we will. I'll be thinking of you this evening and sending strength and support. Xx

Lots of love to everyone else. Xx

@countrypunk I am so so sad to read this. I'm honestly gutted for you. This is so unfair! You go through so much for IVF and then this happens. Sending you so much love.

@BH2023 I'm so sorry that you are having a chemical. Its awful. I've been there in the past. Sending you love xx

Have any of you had a bleed observed on an ultrasound? The sonographer said its not technically a subchorionic hematoma but an area of bleeding. I had a bleed last week and now I have brown spotting again. Feeling super nervous. I've had two scans already now so I feel like I should wait at least a week or two before the next one but it's hard.

@acaciabluebell I'm sorry I haven't had the same experience as you. I did have a very sudden heavy bright red bleed yesterday (at work 😩) and it really freaked me out as I had strong cramping so rushed right off to the nearest EPU and they found a haematoma. have they said any more info about your bleed or if they will monitor it? Surely if it was something serious they would have given you more info? Still scary though I'm sure xx

@Laura23FE thank you for sharing your experience of basically the same thing it helped me so much yesterday. That's not to say I didn't cry at work thinking I was having a miscarriage before my husband came to get me. Very relieved to have seen a heartbeat at 6 weeks 1 day 💕

@Dbop100 its the most gut wrenching feeling isn’t it … you automatically think ‘miscarriage’ when you see blood, i cried ALOT too, I had another little bleed yday but not as much as last Thursday and rang the EPU again and they didn’t seem worried and said only need to come in if I’m soaking through a pad every hour so gave me some reassurance (again) maybe I’m just a bleeder 😭 we have our next scan on Monday when I will be 7 weeks so praying the heart has stabilised as it was slow at the scan last Sunday.. I was only 5 weeks 6 days though so hoping it was just the first day of a heartbeat so that’s why it started off a bit slow ?

So much to worry about constantly 😭🥺

@countrypunk so sorry to hear this shit update. It really is the worst club that we’re all in. After my first miscarriage I waited 2 months for the next transfer. I think it’s down to your cycle and mental state so if you’re ready I’d push it. Wishing you all the best for the next step x

@acaciabluebell ive had bleeding for all 3 of my pregnancies and only this one did they say it was a haematoma. Epu and my clinic have never been concerned so I wouldn’t let it stress you. Easier said than done I know! Sometimes I think it’s good to know there’s a reason for the bleed too x
