For those who've already got little ones or are near to their 12 week scan, is it common for the due date to be adjusted at the scan? Or is it mainly done on last period date unless the scan suggests it's wildly out?
Just wondering how likely it is mine will change 😊

Firsttimemomma1 · 14/01/2023 18:12

@BCxx my IL’s are lovely and are quite switched on and understanding of the boundaries we have in place (both verbally and physically) but my SO’s nana is a whole different ball game and literally doesn’t think before she speaks. Im constantly being told (without invitation) about her “perfect” experience with pregnancy and and she’s always nagging me for details on my dating scan (which I don’t have so physically couldn’t provide even if I wanted to). I literally just want to block her on all social media and WhatsApp but obviously can’t.

She takes the romanticism out of the experience for me and my partner with the click of a finger.

Firsttimemomma1 · 14/01/2023 18:14

Ps. Got my blood work back today too (my trust use the app “Pregnancy Notes” and I just thought oh I’ll check and see if it’s been updated and it had.

All very normal so that’s another positive to take away from today. I had to do a bit of Googling on the RH positive stuff as that threw me off guard when I saw the positive status but turns out it’s a good thing.

nadsc · 14/01/2023 18:40

@marleyandme from what I remember from my last pregnancy is that they’ll change it by whatever the baby is measuring at the dating scan and then it’s not changed. I remember during my later scans I could see my daughter was measuring a week ahead but they kept my due date as it was from the 12 week scan

unluckyinlife · 14/01/2023 19:06

@marleyandme they will finalise your due date at your dating scan.

In my 1st pregnancy they moved me back about a week. In my 2nd they moved me forward by about 5 days.

I have no idea what will happen this time as my pregnancy was found out via scan and I don't have periods.

When they asked my LMP I had to put Feb 2019!

sally16 · 14/01/2023 19:25

@marleyandme it's quite common for it to be changed they told me.. was only a few days for me last time!
Try not too worry about it :) it's not a bad thing! Just not every baby grows text book measurements compared to LMP :) xx

AnnieApple123 · 14/01/2023 19:26

@marleyandme I was measuring a full 10 days ahead at my dating scan last pregnancy. Because I was completely certain of my ovulation date though, I stuck to the original date. Interestingly I then went into labour on the exact due date the scan had given me though.

@BananaBread3 I’m also now quite clearly showing at 11+5, although thankfully I can just about hide it with baggy clothes. Not sure I’ll be able to keep that up until I get my NIPT results though. Today for the first time I went to wash up and felt my bump touch the side of the sink before the rest of me did. I’m genuinely more worried about multiples at this point than miscarriage.

@AnnieApple123 my bellies massive but since I haven’t been to the toilet properly since finding out I’m thinking it’s probably that for me?🤣

sally16 · 14/01/2023 19:59

I've ordered the same sundae I had constantly with DS preganncy.. ate 1/4 and coudknt drink the slush puppy 😭
I better lose weight this time ahah

@AnnieApple123 I'm starting to think mines is turning into baby belly opposed to bloat now too!
I wear baggy tops 99% of the time anyway thankfully! On ASOS looking at summer maternity dresses that are on a huge sale!

BCxx · 14/01/2023 20:10

Went out for dinner tonight and after not feeling sick at all, when we pulled into the car park I suddenly started to feel a bit sick. The more I thought about it the more I felt sick and suddenly I was gagging repeatedly in the car 🙈 had to get out and stand in the rain gagging until it stopped. After it I walked in slightly delighted that I still feel sick (and I wasn’t sick in the car park) 😅😂

sally16 · 14/01/2023 20:14

@BCxx oh god 😅 we're going for lunch with my mum tomorrow before the scan and I'm already dreading sitting there feeling sick trying to entertain my feral child 😂

BCxx · 14/01/2023 20:15

@marleyandme mine was only about a day out last time. To some people it probably doesn’t matter a great deal within a week or so but as I’m having a section again I really hope the dates are right and I don’t go into labour before it 🙈

@Firsttimemomma1 oh jeez, no! That’s so hard to get away from when you just awkwardly have to smile and agree. Why do people assume you want their experience, especially from so long ago?! My IL’s don’t have much concept of boundaries and my husband has never really enforced any but this time he will be! 😅 I just don’t think it’s appropriate to ever ask about a baby/potential future baby unless the person actually comes out and starts telling you about it themself

BCxx · 14/01/2023 20:17

@sally16 its such an uncontrollable feeling when it starts 😂 It’s as much in your head as anything else and it’s such a panic to get it stopped. Luckily I could just stand in the dark wet car park and no one saw but out for lunch is a different story! I went for lunch with my friend last week and had to eat before I went (which was such a waste) but I just couldn’t risk gagging at the table 🙈

PumpkinEverything · 14/01/2023 20:17

@Firsttimemomma1 your response to the bikini wax made me laugh so much 😂😂 I can’t remember who asked but I would just like to say to be aware that your pain threshold might have changed. I haven’t had one, but got my eyebrows done recently and was nearly crying when normally I’m completely fine!

Firsttimemomma1 · 14/01/2023 20:31

@PumpkinEverything now I’ve had a bit of a word with myself I’m finding my personality is coming back a bit and yeah, I’m a bit of a clown. Glad I can put a smile on your face (a bikini wax certainly wouldn’t!!)

@BCxx YAAAAAY YOU FEEL SICK AGAIN! I know how much that meant to you! I feel a bit nauseas tonight myself, can’t work out if I’m hungry or it’s hormones. I didn’t even want the monster munch my other half threw my way before he went on his night shift, that’s when you know somethings up.

I think I’m craving pizza. I usually hate pizza.

ChloeN · 14/01/2023 20:43

@BCxx I swear going out for meals is cursed, I’ve stopped going now 🙈🤣 I’ve had a really sickie day today, I haven’t been sick but felt shit and gagged loads all day, it’s weird how it comes and goes xx

AnnieApple123 · 14/01/2023 21:16

Oh that’s rubbish @ChloeN ! Sorry you haven’t been able to enjoy a meal out.

Those who’ve had nausea in previous pregnancies, when did it start to ease? I didn’t have any last time. It’s not showing any signs of stopping yet though at nearly 12 weeks.

Whoops I missed the move to the new thread! Placemarking.. I think

Amme18 · 14/01/2023 21:27

Sorry @VickiGo it ran out of messages quicker than the new group could be posted I think 🤣

@ChloeN its the random gags out of nowhere! Can’t deal.

@AnnieApple123 last time I had aversions the whole way through, and random sick still but got 90% better after about week 14 I think!

sally16 · 14/01/2023 21:48

@AnnieApple123 i had none last time! Until 17 weeks where I was hospitalised with it 🫠 very dramatic 😂

So this time I'm purposefully forcing myself to drink loads just Incase!

BusyBushBaby · 14/01/2023 22:01

@Miraclesdohappen88 I tried a bikini wax in late pregnancy before as I couldn't see to do maintenance down there and omg it was so sore, I think the pregnancy hormones made it more sensitive, never again!

BusyBushBaby · 14/01/2023 22:08

@marleyandme they will probably change your due date after the 12 week scan, mine got changed last time and it was an IVF baby so dates were exact!

@AnnieApple123 I'm def showing too. Can't wear anything stretchy because it's really obvious and I'm not ready to share the news yet. With my last pregnancy nausea was worst weeks 8-14, was significantly improving by 16 weeks and was gone completely by 20 weeks. This pregnancy it peaked weeks 7-8 but its still pretty bad at 11w.

@BCxx so glad to hear you're feeling awful! 😆

sally16 · 14/01/2023 22:19

@BusyBushBaby I about passed away when I got waxed late term last time!
Never again! Im surprised the hair didn't have ptsd and never grew back 🤣

sally16 · 14/01/2023 22:20

Anyone got baby names ready?
We've finally got one of each names and I feel like people are gonna be weird because the boys name is after my dog 😂😂😂
To be fair I had him 15 years.. was half my life when he died and he was my bestie 😅
