@BCxx I’m afraid I had a big rant at DS last night when he was bouncing around on the bed and refusing to go to sleep. I normally lie with him until he is settled but I told him I was going to leave him (and that that’s what happens in most families) as I had so many grown-up things to do that I have so little time to get done, especially as he is so messy and leaves his toys out everywhere. It doesn’t sound so bad when written like that but I managed to really upset him.

Just sharing this graph here again as even those with end of August due dates are now approaching 8 weeks, which is arguably a bigger milestone than 12 weeks.

And once you’re 10+ weeks the odds are not really very different from 12.

@BCxx I caved in to temptation.

Private scan in an hour. Please cross everything.

AnnieApple123 · 14/01/2023 11:18

@Firsttimemomma1 All crossed!

BCxx · 14/01/2023 11:27

@Firsttimemomma1 fingers crossed all is fine and you get some reassurance 🤞🏼

BCxx · 14/01/2023 11:31

@AnnieApple123 aw it’s so easy to lose your rag with them isn’t it, especially by the end of the day when you’re just thinking I cannot wait to get a break from you 🙈😂 Don’t beat yourself up about it, everyone does it. DS is only 18 months almost but is really starting the tantrums now, he does that bending backwards thing to lie down whenever something is happening that he doesn’t want. He’s also taken to crying and screaming if things aren’t going his way and he’d pretty much stopped the crying from when he was really small. We went swimming the other day and when we were getting changed to go home he cried the entire time at the cubicle door wanting me to open it. Honestly must have sounded like I was murdering him in there. I was trying everything to get it to stop, singing, trying to make him laugh etc and he just would not stop. The second we were ready and I unlocked the door the tears stopped and he walked out like nothing happened 🤦🏼‍♀️ So hard to keep your cool with them at times, especially when pregnant 😅 but if we can deal with this we can deal with anything surely

BCxx · 14/01/2023 11:34

@AnnieApple123 thats reassuring, if I get good news on Tuesday at just over 9 weeks I’ll feel much more ‘safe’. My mum said everyone used to tell each other at 9 weeks as that’s when you used to get your first scan! Just praying nothing has happened earlier that I don’t yet know about but I have nothing to suggest that, I’m just weirdly having a very easy time this time

Firsttimemomma1 · 14/01/2023 12:06

Baby’s heartbeat beating away. Everything healthy and eating at 8w 4d which is 2 days behind what I thought. 2cm little bean nestled in there nicely. Now time to try and relax. Poor bean has no idea how much of a worrier his or her mother is!

Best money I’ve spent.

Firsttimemomma1 · 14/01/2023 12:06

Dating, not eating.

FYI - I also have absolutely no symptoms anymore so I hope that can put some others at ease.

Narwhal88 · 14/01/2023 12:10

With everyone on the anxiety front and feeling like I've been pregnant for ages!
I booked a private scan for tomorrow and I'm just terrified again, there's nothing to suggest anything is wrong but we all know that doesn't mean it isn't.
I haven't had really bad sickness but the nausea seems to have calmed down in the last couple of days which doesn't help.

Narwhal88 · 14/01/2023 12:11

@Firsttimemomma1 glad the scan went well, so reassuring ❤️

ChloeN · 14/01/2023 12:20

@Firsttimemomma1 lovely news☺️💗

@Narwhal88 good luck for tomorrow! Anna anxiety is the worst!

@AnnieApple123 the odds are actually crazy at the start honestly it’s a miracle people have babies

Firsttimemomma1 · 14/01/2023 13:26

Thank you all. A long way to go but it provides some temporary comfort at least :)

Createcomet · 14/01/2023 13:30

Can definitely relate to the anxiety we're all feeling at the moment. We're not alone.

I am so absolutely over feeling like s**t! Every weekend I'm spending 50% of the day sitting in bed, I never have the energy to do anything I enjoy and I'm sick, tired and just so fed up. I don't want to whinge, but equally this is making me so miserable. Husband and I have a lot going on at work right now and 2 year old to look after and I feel like I'm just in survival mode 😭 I just hope that this pregnancy goes well and then I'm absolutely done. No more than two for me!

AnnieApple123 · 14/01/2023 14:07

So glad all went well @Firsttimemomma1 .

@BCxx Glad you understand about how easy it is to lose your rag too. I apologised to DS this morning and he apologised back to me.

@Createcomet I’m also just in survival mode!

I can now confirm that my scan will be next Thursday afternoon. I had to really psych myself up just to make the call. The receptionist was very lovely though. I asked whether I could find out the sex but have them keep the result until I was ready to know. She said yes, absolutely and just to drop them an email if and when the moment felt right.

So @ChloeN you officially have a scan buddy!

Well done. Sending you positive vibes for Thursday!

sally16 · 14/01/2023 15:20

Cancelled my extra shifts next week with the full intention of being off all week on sick..
my heads really not in anything right now.. house is a tip, ironing piling up, no food shop done etc., DP has really been trying to take the lead but he can only do so much..

Was pulled up by someone saying I wasn't pulling my weight at work.. which really upset me considering I don't feel it was justified. Maybe in comparison to what I used to force myself to go above and beyond but my god it's true when they say people don't notice everything you do until you stop 🙄

BananaBread3 · 14/01/2023 15:31

Same here with anxiety. Am 9 weeks today.

Have been feeling awful since 3 weeks so also feel like I’ve been keeping a secret for ages. Waiting for the NIPT next to (hopefully) tell a couple of people.

I’m also showing. So much so that I’ve had to cancel social events. This time my stomach knows what’s coming!

Createcomet · 14/01/2023 15:35

@sally16 I'm really sorry, it's so tough isn't it, especially when you're wary of telling people what's going on!

I'm sorry that happened at work. I am 100% not being as productive as normal at work, and I think I'm going to really really struggle on Monday. It's just unbelievably hard. Hopefully it'll end soon and we'll feel better in a few weeks. But it certainly feels pretty unbearable right now. I'm struggling to see all the things that aren't getting done because I'm not well enough to do them 😭

sally16 · 14/01/2023 15:50

@Createcomet aw it is so hard! I just want to wake up! I feel like I'm walking about half asleep all the time :( and my house.. it's just so bad :(

Hopefully work is nice and breezy for you Monday!! Xx

BCxx · 14/01/2023 16:36

@Firsttimemomma1 so glad the scan went well and you can relax for tonight at least! As @AnnieApple123 posted earlier, the odds are looking good from here on in if you get a positive scan now

BCxx · 14/01/2023 16:37

@sally16 sorry you’re struggling with everything, my house is the same if it’s any consolation. It’s just so hard to keep on top of everything at the best of times. Sorry your work hasn’t been great either

BCxx · 14/01/2023 16:40

Had the in-laws down this afternoon and after us talking about the inappropriate comments.. I was talking about the stuff I need to clear out etc and it wasn’t even baby stuff I was talking about but I just heard FIL say ‘keep it for the next one’! 😄 I just stayed so straight-faced and went ‘it’s our stuff’ or something 😂 could see my husband looking at me. But yet again, what if I’d just had a miscarriage? People just don’t think at all and always think they’re the first person to make any comment

Miraclesdohappen88 · 14/01/2023 17:53

Wow thread 5!!

Think we are going to be onto a record come August!

Congratulations to all the newbies and welcome to the group. 💖

Heartbroken for those who have had losses over the past few weeks I hope you find a way to heal and look after yourselves. 💔

I'm 10+3 now and still feeling absolutely rotten with sickness and nausea still pretty bad but I'm hoping it will ease over next few weeks and I might actually start to enjoy this pregnancy only waited 8 years for this time!

Can I ask for people's thoughts on bikini wax before 12 weeks or in pregnancy in general?

Firsttimemomma1 · 14/01/2023 18:07

@Miraclesdohappen88 not the medical answer I know you’re wanting but i think if I had a bikini wax at any point during my pregnancy it would make me push the baby out with sheer tensing of the muscles. Brave lady haha!! Always something I’ve wanted to be able to tolerate but I can’t get past the fear of how much it sounds like it would hurt (ironic really when you consider what we’re all going to push out of our bodies in 7 months time) 😂
