@Firsttimemomma1 oh no! I'm sure I'll be sympathising on Wednesday. I work from home 90 percent of the time. I'm usually in the office one day and can be on sites whenever I'm needed. However Wednesday will be my first full day in office since Christmas. I literally have meetings booked from 8 -2.30 with a maximum of 30 minutes between each one. I'm terrified I'll either become a nauseous mess as if I'm not snacking I feel rubbish! Or I will be zombified by about 12.

I'm planning on keeping it quiet until at least 20 weeks or I can't hide it... purely because in my first pregnancy I was guilt tripped pretty much the entire pregnancy, I didn't tell them until 24 weeks with my daughter and I felt I didn't get the grief or the 'extra' workload to account for the fact I wouldn't be around during maternity leave.

Any plans for the evening? I'm just finished up on the treadmill so I'm going to sit in front of Netflix and watch Ginny and Georgia. I started watching it yesterday despite it not really being something I'd watch and quite like it (whilst scoffing m&ms, making the exercise pointless)..xx

unluckyinlife · 16/01/2023 20:22

@sally16 I found out at 16 weeks with both of mine. My son wasn't shy and was clearly a boy. My daughter however had the classic hamburger but my husband thought he was looking at testicles . He was like It's a boy!!! And I was just like no it's not.. he was so happy when he realised as he'd wanted one of each, but on the drive home started panicking about one day needing to pay for weddings and prom dresses!

sally16 · 16/01/2023 20:39

@unluckyinlife my son wasn't shy either! But my friend was having a girl.. every scan girl.. out popped a boy 🤣😅
So now I'm sceptical 😂

ChloeN · 16/01/2023 20:41

@unluckyinlife i love Ginny and Georgia!! It’s such an easy watch, I’m rewatching Emily in Paris at the min🤣

AnnieApple123 · 16/01/2023 20:51

@unluckyinlife My first scan last time was at 13+2 and I was measuring 10 days ahead, so 14+5. The sonographer (non-NHS) was very confident it was a boy. So much so, we went and bought a blue babygro right after. I definitely wasn’t expecting to find out that early. I’m going to ask them not to give any hints this time though.

@ChloeN I’m going to have to try out Ginny and Georgia now. Not sure how long I’ll last though. I’m knackered already at not even 9pm.

@sally16 I can't imagine 😧what a shock that must have been! I've always been so certain I'd be able to tell when I had a 3rd what I was having as with my son I was in and out of hospital from about 7 weeks with all sorts of issues and felt horrendous craved all of the cheese, milkshake and mcdonalds fries and the smell of chocolate and coffee made me gag..With my daughter, I was a hormonal mess to the point my husband made me take a test and told me if it was negative and I had no excuse my moods were divorce worthy.. I was horrendous! Bearing in mind I must have conceived just before our wedding 😅Other than that my pregnancy was easy. I just had enormous swollen boots for 9 months and craved Chinese ALL the time.

This pregnancy has been so confusing. I got to over 6 weeks with no idea I was pregnant (I had mirena so no periods). Then 7 weeks hit and I'm nauseous when I'm hungry, my boots are normal, I did have a love for mcdonalds fries and cheese over Christmas but am really into chocolate and went off milk entirely until a week ago. I blamed the flu I had before Christmas for the fact milk made me gag).

I just want a healthy baby and dont really mind what I have as I have one of each but think I me and my husband have opposing secret preferences 😃

When I saw the scan and found out I was actually pregnant, I got an immediate thought of I'm having a boy. Strange but I'm so curious to find out if it turns out right! X

unluckyinlife · 16/01/2023 20:55

@AnnieApple123 That's amazing! I think my nubs theory guesses are good but to have a sonographer tell you is so exciting.

Are you not finding out either this time? X

unluckyinlife · 16/01/2023 20:57

@ChloeN I loved Emily in Paris! Again not my normal thing.. I love true crime documentaries and crime thrillers so something so much more lighthearted was strange for me. That's what made me try Ginny and Georgia! It's good company when I can't sleep at night and my husband is snoring away! X

AnnieApple123 · 16/01/2023 21:06

@unluckyinlife Not going to find out for now but may do later on.

@unluckyinlife wowwww! So different! I have no clues yet but I'm not bad at guessing scans so will see 😅

ChloeN · 16/01/2023 21:12

@AnnieApple123 its kind of crap but good at the same time 🤣

@unluckyinlife wasn’t the ending so bloody annoying of this series!! I just want to know if they get together 😢

DesertSnow · 16/01/2023 21:19

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok. I wasn't sure about posting as I am very conscious that some ladies are having a tough time and I don't want to be insensitive. I'm really sorry if this is upsetting for anyone to read, please feel free to skip past/ignore as appropriate.

I had the 12-week scan today and all was looking well. Measuring 12 + 2, heard heartbeat and everything as it should be. Baby was upside down the whole time and wouldn't move! And it sucked its thumb for most of it. So, so relieved and happy. Also got our screening results back and all low risk. So we won't be doing any further testing as we're happy with our numbers. New due date is 29th July - hope I'm still ok to hang in here with you lovely ladies!

For those of you saying you're good at the nub theory - if I posted a couple of pics would anyone care to take a guess? Not sure if you can see the nub and I've definitely seen clearer pictures! But if that's annoying of me to post, then do tell me to bore off! Would be happy with boy or girl, just curious at this point!

Firsttimemomma1 · 16/01/2023 21:22

@DesertSnow i am over the moon for you!!! This is news that keeps us all going.congratulations!

unluckyinlife · 16/01/2023 21:29

@DesertSnow that's such lovely news! Please feel free to put up your scan pics I'm sure there's a few of us what would love to guess 😀xx

unluckyinlife · 16/01/2023 21:30

@ChloeN the ending actually really irritated me. I was so ready for them to just get together, then surprise! Everything is in the air again!

Sjw30 · 16/01/2023 21:30

@DesertSnow So happy for you xx

ChloeN · 16/01/2023 21:36

@DesertSnow lovely news☺️ glad all was okay and lovely you could hear the heartbeat! Defo post the pics, I have no idea about the nub theory but sure someone will🤣

CityKity · 16/01/2023 21:36

@DesertSnow amazing news!!! I’m delighted it’s all going well and baby is looking good! I’m really glad you shared as it’s nice to hear some good news too, and it makes me leas anxious ahead of my scan.
I’d love to see the scan pic! I don’t know anything about nub theory, but it’s just so exciting to see the babies on this thread come to life!
Out of interest how long was the scan appointment start to finish? I’ve had work meetings booked in either side of mine, so a bit worried about timings.

DesertSnow · 16/01/2023 21:37

Ah thank you all for being so kind ☺️

Have attached scan pics for any nub experts out there!

DesertSnow · 16/01/2023 21:40

@CityKity Glad to share some hope! Can't wait to hear more good scan news on this thread soon 😊I'd say the appointment was around 25 minutes - but it would have been quicker if baby had been the right way up as the sonographer had me jiggling around to try and get it to turn. I think 20ish minutes without all of that! It was all very efficient.

BCxx · 16/01/2023 21:47

@sally16 yeah I’m waiting on my result, just sent it on Friday. There’s a £10 off code that popped up online after I did it so search and see if you can find an ad for that if you do it. The only issue for me was the blood didn’t come pouring out my finger so I was having to jump about etc to get it to start dropping and it ended up on my nail so I think there’s a high chance mine will say boy when I have husband/little boy and male dog in the house. I scrubbed my skin til it was nearly coming off and cleaned the surface so thoroughly but the nail thing has made me think it’s going to say boy regardless so I’m not going to know if it’s a boy or not

buttercupbee · 16/01/2023 21:50

@DesertSnow amazing news! So happy for you. Definitely good to hear some good news as well, makes me feel less anxious about my scan next week. I don’t know anything about nub theory but interested to hear other people’s guesses

BCxx · 16/01/2023 21:51

@DesertSnow ahh! Just came back on tonight to see if there was any news ☺️🎉 congratulations, what a relief! I sent my scan to the nub whisperer website at 12 weeks, I thought for £10 it was a bit of fun. I heard about it on MN and the other two people on the thread also got correct results. It’s like the sneak peek thing though, it’s almost pointless doing it because you’re not going to believe it whatever it is 😂 and I really don’t want to be pleased about one sex then find out it’s wrong and be all confused about that

CityKity · 16/01/2023 21:53

@DesertSnow 25mins?! Wow that’s so quick! After the very long booking appointment I blocked 2 hours in my calendar 😅, looks like I’ll be totally fine for those meetings!

P1pk · 16/01/2023 21:58

Hi Ladies, I'm a 1st time mum through an ivf pregnancy. Due in Aug so I thought I'd join this group for some support and banter as we haven't shared our news with many people atm. I'm already learning a lot from this chat!! What's a nubs expert??🤔
