@firsttimelondonmummy Lovely scan 💖 so pleased for you xx

I've barely eaten in days. I'm struggling so much with this loss of appetite/nausea. I know not eating or drinking is making it worse but it's hard to eat or drink. I've bought a loud of tinned soups to try eat. 11 weeks tomorrow. Hope I feel hungry again soon 😓

Texasholdem20 · 17/11/2022 16:48

I seem to have the opposite problem to most - the only thing that staves off the nausea is fast food - I’ve had so many mcdonalds and put on a stone in the last 5 weeks. Absolutely dreading the weigh in and my BMI now being in the overweight category 😞- i know it’s absolutely not the thing to focus on now, but I just hate people knowing my weight at the best of times, let alone when I’m the heaviest I’ve been …. But also, I need to get a grip! 😂

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 17/11/2022 16:50

Just weighed myself. Lost 5 lbs in about 10 days. I'm borderline into overweight but I don't want to lose any as I know it's not healthy right now. I am sipping soup and bottle of water so hopefully that will help.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 17/11/2022 16:51

@Texasholdem20 I'm heaviest I've ever been too x Don't worry we're growing beans so we have an excuse really as we feed them 😅

Zaalfruit · 17/11/2022 17:02

So my bmi came to 29.5 I’m 5’2 but the nurse mentioned nothing about upping the amount of folic acid . Am I meant to inform my gp or something ?

HalWin2221 · 17/11/2022 17:55

I feel like my nausea has disappeared completely? On Sunday I was having to drive around with a bag on my lap as I was worried I’d be sick! Now, nothing? I’ve got a cold at the moment so I’d think my nausea would be even worse but I feel like it’s just disappeared. I’ve paid for an early scan tomorrow, so will know then. Anyone got any similar reassuring experience? :(

firsttimelondonmummy · 17/11/2022 18:07

@BellaTheDarkOverlord thank you so much and sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well sending get well vibes your way ✨ 💖

Also in terms of BMI I was so stressed about it before my first midwife appt today as I’m 5’5 and 10 stone 11 so 1lb into overweight.
Once the midwife weighed me and saw me cringe she told me to stop being stupid and that I’m a tiny thing and not to worry in the slightest.
Felt so much better about it and my self image which took a dive after a BMI check.

I also can eat fast food and particularly spicy food. Had a peri peri chicken yday with chips. Loved it, bloated me no end after though but it was worth it. Oh and sweets I literally have so many sweets, sour ones too, iv never liked sweets my whole life and now I can finish packets. And I'm struggling to get on average more than 2 glasses of water down me, I think it's cos of the bloat more than the nausea cos it makes me feel so much worse.

Mum2Girls19 · 17/11/2022 19:39

firsttimelondonmummy · 17/11/2022 19:39

@tigerlily0 if this isn’t me 😭 the sweets…. I can’t.
Also I just want chips all the time but trying my best to keep it down to once max twice a week haha!

I'm trying to eat healthy. Not easy.
I am currently roasting some veggies and salmon. Now all I need to do is manage to eat it!

Veryxonfused · 17/11/2022 19:47

I’m technically overweight (was a couple of pounds off the overweight mark in my booking appointment) and they didn’t even bother weighing me, just said I looked small and they didn’t need to
I never used to believe BMI was rubbish till I gained weight and look no different 😂

Veryxonfused · 17/11/2022 19:58

I’ve got my 12 week scan tomorrow and I’m so incredibly nervous. I’ve had 3 early scans so far, all good news with baby measuring ahead at each one. But my last pregnancy was a missed miscarriage, and I have had light spotting throughout this one. It seems to be every 2 weeks I’ll go to the toilet and there will be a bit of brown blood when I wipe, then I don’t see it again and it reappears a couple of weeks later. It’s such a minuscule amount but just so worried it indicates there’s something wrong. But there’s also that part of me that’s so excited and optimistic that this might really be the one. I don’t know how to feel, such a head fuck to be so excited but then have to keep bringing myself back in case of bad news

dresslol · 17/11/2022 20:17

My sugar cravings are through the roof, trying very hard to ignore them but only partly successful. As for fast food, it’s an endless battle! I was doing so well with my weight before getting pregnant but now I just feel hungry all the time.
but the bloating! It’s unreal, if I eat an evening meal my stomach is huge.
Currently 10w 3d and due 10th June. I had a private scan earlier in the week because I’m really old and wanted to check everything was ok. So far so good. Now waiting on Panorama test results, has anyone done one before? Or planning one?

AstroH · 17/11/2022 20:43

Evening ladies. From what I remember from my booking appointment, I am having a glucose test (if it’s the thing where they give you the drink and then you have to wait a couple of hours and then they test you?) and my BMI is 20. I’m not sure if the NHS trust I’m in just give it to everyone or if it’s because people of my ethnicity are more at risk of diabetes?

I’m also close to the heaviest I’ve ever been and not eating the most healthily right now. Telling myself not to worry about it or gaining weight but the bloating is not great for the self image. I’d definitely rather have a nice bump than this bloat belly which makes me look 20 weeks pregnant by bed time 😭

Also getting quite a few twinges in between my hip bone and bottom of my rib cage. Not sure if that’s pregnancy related. It seems to have replaced the more period pain type twinges I was having before.

B1993 · 18/11/2022 06:23

Morning all, I hope everyone is doing well!

I can totally relate to all you ladies wanting sweets/chocolate and junk food all of the time!!

Good luck to the ladies with scans today! 💕

@HalWin2221, my symptoms have been on/off since the start. Last week I had bad neasea/sickness from Wednesday to Saturday and then Sunday onwards felt nothing! The nausea came back yesterday but wasn't enough to make me sick. I'm confident that my fluctuating symptoms are pretty normal. I'm waiting now until my 12 week scan this coming Friday but keeping my fingers firmly crossed that all is well!! Will do the same for you today 🤞🏻💖

BobbySD345 · 18/11/2022 08:35

@DrinkingAllTheGin did you manage the salmon and veggies? I put in an admirals pie which is the most 'interesting' meal I've had in a couple weeks. Ate the whole thing, it was amazing. I am lactose intolerant though so it gave me a horrible stomach after. Can't win can I ! Back to waffles tonight I think.
I just want savoury things. I haven't touched sweets, chocolates or cake and usually that's the sort of thing I would stuff my face with all day. The thought of a cake or a pack of skittles makes me want to throw up. Making up for it with the ready salted pringles, hula hoops and white bread though for sure.

BobbySD345 · 18/11/2022 08:38

@dresslol Is the panorama test the NIPT for down syndrome? I have the blood forms to do that within 72 hours of my 12 week scan. When I had my little boy in 2019, we had the NUCHAL test where they measure fluid at the back of the head during the 12 week scan but I am sure the NIPT was only something you could pay for privately. Things must have changed. I have got to go for bloods this next week and they want 3 viles 🤢 Not looking forward to that ! It took them over 50 mins to get blood from me last time I went due to my non existent veins lol.
I got told I am a geriatric Mother the other day which is nice to be reminded of isn't it !

dresslol · 18/11/2022 08:48

@BobbySD345 yes, the panorama is a type of NIPT, they test for quite a few issues not just downs, I had it done privately because I’m old and worried about my heightened risk of abnormalities. The scan was done privately too at 10 weeks and all was fine as much as they can tell. My NHS nuchal scan (first one offered) isn’t until 29th November so by then I should have the Panorama test results back.
I am definitely a geriatric mother!
