Yup, had this for 2 worrying days on and off, gone now and all seems well. I think I was dehydrated....🤔

sleepymama3 · 09/11/2022 19:43

Sorry, that last post was @Hopeful1992 .

And @AstroH thank you so much for that very honest and moving account of how you've been feeling, am about to check that link out now. The first trimester can be quite lonely in some ways, not able to flaunt the bump and relax into pregnancy really, but having this thread as an outlet is a real help 🤗

tigerlily0 · 09/11/2022 22:57

Does anyone else feel like there's just no let up. I'm so grateful to be pregnant but with nausea constantly and exhaustion and feeling like iv been hit by a bus literally all day everyday I'm just so miserable. Iv been pregnant twice before and I know 2nd trimester does get a lil easier but does it really. All u do is prep for 3rd trimester which is tiring and il get SPD no doubt and then 4th trimester which is so hard. Sorry for ranting but I'm just so bleh all day. It takes a lot for me to sit down, i never do. And now all I seem to be doing is sitting or lying down

Hopeful1992 · 10/11/2022 06:58

@BobbySD345 @sleepymama3 thanks both, it’s so helpful having this thread as an outlet. I haven’t told any friends or family yet, only me and my partner know and I have so many questions 😂

Baby3herewego · 10/11/2022 07:04

@tigerlily0 with you on the nausea. It’s literally all day long! I was violently sick with my last pregnancy, throwing up 5-6 times a day and I’m starting to think that I actually would be happier to be sick than just feel sick. Nothing quite like feeling hing over all day, every day is there?

how many weeks are you now?

FLA92 · 10/11/2022 08:12

My sickness seems to have ramped up this week (8 weeks). 😭 buying some of the myrtle and Maude bonbons, has anyone tried them?

Also weird one but is anyone else not feeling like they need to wee as much? I had pho for dinner and a big glass of water before bed last night and would usually need a wee in the night but didn’t, barely needed one this morning! Have noticed this over the last couple of weeks… should I mention it to the midwife on Monday?

On this topic, have many of you told people? My parents know as with one of my losses I was very unwell and was admitted twice. We have a 3 year old so we want them to know incase we need their help at short notice. I also told my best friend because she asked me to my face the other day when I was looking green and I couldn't lie !!

tigerlily0 · 10/11/2022 08:39

@Baby3herewego I'm 10+6 today. I even went on the May group to see if Theyr all sickness free and they were all still complaining of nausea. In fact in both my pregnancies I had nausea/sickness til around 18 weeks. I think that's why it's getting me down even more because I know it's not going to magically switch off at 12 weeks. Iv booked a private scan today so I have something to look forward too.

tigerlily0 · 10/11/2022 08:42

@BobbySD345 iv been off sick from work so my friends from work have asked and iv said it was gastroenteritis. One blatantly said I know ure pregnant and I denied it. My mum looks at me suspicious as does my sil and both my sisters said wer getting pregnant vibes from you. It's because I literally never sit still and always chatting to them and the last 4 weeks iv been doing nothing and not in the mood for talking so they know somethings up. Iv denied it all ! I just don't want ppl to know and question why I got pregnant and am I mad ( it's my 3rd and I'm 37 and was never 100% about another).

Veryxonfused · 10/11/2022 09:07

Is it normal for sickness to start going away at 11 weeks? I’m 11 + 4 today (according to my scans not my LMP) and for the past 3 days I’ve been able to eat ‘proper’ meals. My diet has been almost completely normal
I still feel nauseous but it’s definitely easing
Also feel like my boobs aren’t as sore today

Ally1992 · 10/11/2022 09:16

@tigerlily0 yes I feel the same as you and I do feel grateful that I’m pregnant but the nausea is all day long (and all night long). I’m exhausted and just want to feel like my normal energised self now. I work in a really small office, there’s only 6 of us so I’m finding it hard to hide it now!

Completely normal! Don't stress. I had this with my first, he's now nearly two. Your symptoms go away when the placenta takes over hormone production and nourishment of the baby. Normally happens at 10/11 weeks. This is why you feel much better in the second trimester than the first.

Thank you, I always expected this but it still worries me as I had a MMC before this pregnancy. Just going to try to actually enjoy food again without worrying haha. At least I should be able to get more nutritious food in now

B1993 · 10/11/2022 09:26

@BobbySD345 I told my parents and in the in laws last week when I was around 9 weeks (I’m 10 weeks now). Other than that, we’ve been keeping it quiet. I’m thinking of waiting until next month to tell the rest of our extended family when I’ll be closer to 16-ish weeks.

I’m not sure if my 3 year old picked up on the conversations as, even though we haven’t officially told him yet, he randomly mentioned wanting a baby when he woke up a few nights ago. It was really sweet actually and told me he would love his ‘baby brother’ and when his brother is bigger, he’d play with his toys together. 🥰🥰 Me and DH had a conversation with DS following this but didn’t confirm anything yet. Those of you with older toddlers/children, have you thought about when you’ll officially tell them?

Re nausea/fatigue. I’ve actually felt a bit less tired recently! 😯 With my first I was tired the entire time so am definitely surprised that I have a tad more energy in recent days. Nausea went away too, but I feel so sick at work yesterday and again in the evening so that just seems to come and go for me. I managed to pass it off as the bugs going around as we’ve had so many kids off!

Hoping all is still as it should be despite the slight Enders boost and trying not to panic! I have my 12 week scan on 25th so keeping focused on that as it’s only a couple of weeks away now.

We have a 3 year old too. He's only just turned 3 but he would definitely understand if we told him. We said we would maybe tell him after Christmas when we will find out the gender because we think he would identify with baby easier if he knew it was a little brother or little sister. He knows not to climb and dive all over me. My Husband has told him I am poorly but to be fair after my falling down the stairs and being on crutches he has kept his distance anyway!! Anyone else who already has kids I presume we can still pick toddlers up and whatnot? People still go to the gym when pregnant don't they. It just feels unnatural as I want to protect the little bean as much as possible !

B1993 · 10/11/2022 11:02

@BobbySD345 My DS isn't long 3 either - he was a July baby but definitely understands! My son still climbs all over me for cuddles and when playing, I pick him up and do everything I normally would. You're fine doing your normal level of activity and that includes lifting what you normally would so I wouldn't worry about that.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 10/11/2022 13:12

@TrulyMiss Thanks it went fine. Got my next midwife app 30th Dec at 16 weeks. Been referred to consultant due to previous placenta accreta who is going to ring or book me in around 16 weeks to discuss placenta scans later on in pregnancy. She said my 12 week app should come through in next 2 weeks.

positivethoughts1 · 10/11/2022 14:05

@CaliGirl47 Keeping everything crossed for your scan today ❤️ xxx

BobbySD345 · 10/11/2022 15:27

Just out of interest, when are you all planning on telling work? We have our Christmas party on 16th Dec and I don't know if I will find a dress that hides a 13 week belly. This is my 2nd and I think I might have a bit of a belly by then. I can find something baggy to wear to work itself although we have to wear suits but a party dress is tricky !

ImHopeful2023 · 10/11/2022 16:56

Hi all I'm ten weeks and today have slight on and off cramping is this something to be worried about don't have another scan for a week and half..?

CaliGirl47 · 10/11/2022 17:01

Thanks for thinking of me @positivethoughts1 unfortunately it was not good news for me today. Baby had grown to 9 weeks but there was no heartbeat today so it is officially a MMC. Just trying to decide on best course of management now. But the hospital was so caring and gave me a keepsake box to put my scan photos in. I wish you all the best of luck in your pregnancies and hopefully 2023 will bring me a rainbow baby 👶🏻🌈✨

xx

Based on my LMP, I thought I was exactly ten weeks pregnant today (with an EDD of 9 June 2023). I had an obstetrician appointment booked for the Harmony test (as I was told it can’t be done before ten weeks).

I showed my obstetrician the results of the ultrasound scan I had (not with him) at seven weeks pregnant and he said the CRL (7 mm) wasn’t he’d expect, so he wanted to do another ultrasound scan.

Based on today’s ultrasound scan, I’m actually only nine weeks pregnant today (with a new EDD of 15 June 2023) - but baby’s CRL is now 22.8 m and heart rate is 167 pm so everything looks as it should!

Has this - not being as far along as you thought - happened to anyone else? If so, how did you feel about it? Weirdly, I feel a little disappointed that I probably have a few more weeks left of nausea and bloating, and won’t be showing (about which I’m excited!) for a little longer. Having said that, I’m so relieved that baby is healthy and progressing normally so far. I’m conscious not all of our group has been so lucky.
