hey @Littlebear14 ! ah it's never nice to see any spotting is it?! I had brown spotting for the whole of week 8 (it was mostly light but occasionally got a bit heavier). I actually think mine was caused by having sex/just my cervix being irritated 😳as i went for a private scan at the start of that week and things were all looking good and she couldn't see any reason for the bleed. Because it carried on all week i called the epu but they weren't too concerned/keen to get me in so now I'm just hoping all is still ok in there! I'm 10.5 weeks now so just waiting on my 12 week scan.

Hope yours stops soon, it really is such a worry! If you're concerned it's def worth calling your epu/midwife to put your mind at ease.

Littlebear14 · 04/11/2022 10:14

Thanks @northerngal20 it really was not nice to see, I went into such a panic! 😢
We have not been having sex due to my anxiety about everything 🙈 so unfortunately the irritated cervix can't be the cause for me.
I have left a message with the EPU to call me back so hopefully I will be able to speak with someone soon. Thanks for the reassurance and hope everything goes well with you! It definitely sounds good that yours all stopped and that they weren't worried 😊 fingers crossed your scan comes round quickly!

northerngal20 · 04/11/2022 10:20

aww poor you 😢it's so stressful. Really hope EPU call back quickly and you can get seen before the weekend, hopefully it will all be absolutely fine and baby is doing perfectly in there 💛thanks -- the wait for the scan feels like a lifetime! i keep staring at the calendar on my phone literally counting down the days! probs the worst way to pass the time haha!🙈

Littlebear14 · 04/11/2022 10:49

@northerngal20 they called back and booked me in for a scan tomorrow morning! Just got to try and make it through the night 🙈
Yes - I'm exactly the same 😆 many countdowns on my phone

northerngal20 · 04/11/2022 11:15

oh good! fingers crossed all will be okay!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 04/11/2022 18:03

At 8+5 today, which is about when I lost my last pregnancy. My anxiety will be high until scan on 28th.

TrulyMiss · 05/11/2022 08:08

I'm a bit down in the dumps today - we've all been battling a nasty cold all week. Toddler was very sick yesterday with tonsillitis (thankfully much improved today) but now I've woken with tonsillitis and sinusitis. Will call the out of hours doc shortly but I know they're limited in what they can give me... I'm just worried about making I through the next few months and all the crèche bugs. 6+1 today...

Quokka7 · 05/11/2022 08:59

Morning ladies 🙋‍♀️

@DrinkingAllTheGin how are you feeling today? It must be such a trigger and hard date to get past, but you're doing really well. Have you had any early scans or are you waiting for the 12 week one?

@CaliGirl47 I'm so sorry your scan didn't go well. Have you been seen by the hospital yet? Sending you big hugs xx

@Littlebear14 good luck for today 🤞

@B1993 I'm glad your lack of symptoms lately havent meant anything and everything's looking as it should 🧡

@TrulyMiss Feel better soon!

I ended up having my new midwife call and do the booking appointment over the phone the other night so I should be expecting a letter in the post next week with my scan date. Makes me super anxious as that's when we found out our last pregnancy had issues so I'm dreading it. I forgot to ask the midwife to ask for an early morning appointment as last time I wasn't seen til gone 4pm and it played on my mind all day waiting. Fingers crossed I can change it if that's the case again!

Littlebear14 · 05/11/2022 10:31

@Quokka7 thank you 😊 scan went well, baby measuring correctly and with healthy heart beat. Apparently the spotting is just one of those things that can happen for many reasons!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 05/11/2022 14:12

@Quokka7 I'm waiting for my 12 week scan. I can live in hope until then that everything is going well.

thedust · 05/11/2022 14:21

The pregnancy exhaustion is getting to me. It feels 10x worse than my first pregnancy. House is an absolute mess (husband is now trying to tidy up with our 3 year old while I'm in bed) and I'm just not on top of things as I normally would be, both in work and at home! Really getting me down having no energy to do anything, I spend so much time in bed. Also, I am so bloated and have gained a lot of weight so none of my clothes fit me already. Conceiving on an all inclusive holiday wasn't a great idea 😅thankfully I've not been sick, feel nauseous sometimes and the only thing that makes it go is eating so I'm probably eating more than I should. I hate the first trimester.

CaliGirl47 · 05/11/2022 14:30

Thank you so much for thinking of me @Quokka7 I really hope your scan letter comes through soon. I’m really struggling if I’m honest. The hospital has been unhelpful. GP referred me but the local hospital said I’m not booked in with them I’m booked at a different hospital. So they’re all passing me back and forth. I just keep getting passed from one trust to another. So I need to chase up the GP on Monday to try another referral.

But this limbo is really hard. I’m trying not to think about it. I’m bracing myself for bleeding every time I use the toilet and I feel equally relieved and baffled every time there’s nothing there. I can’t see any way around the sonographer not finding a heartbeat but deep down I really want to hope that they were wrong somehow.

so glad to hear that your scan went well 💗 @Littlebear14

B1993 · 05/11/2022 16:05

@Quokka7, thanks! It's a big relief! 💖🥰

That's great news @Littlebear14! 🥳💗

I feel like I've been eating loads too @thedust and it's also not helping that I'm craving sweets and chocolate 🙈🙈 Wondering when is too early to get the maternity jeans on?!

@CaliGirl47 That sounds like an absolute nightmare and is really unfair for them to leave you limbo like that. 😢 I do hope it's not a missed miscarriage and baby is doing well in there, but if they are, all of this stress and worry they're causing by not seeing you isn't helpful either! I hope your GP is able to push for a referral and you get seen on Monday 🤞🏻🍀

CaliGirl47 · 05/11/2022 16:57

Thanks @B1993 I really appreciate you saying that. It’s been a really difficult time. Once I know one way or the other then I can try to make a plan of action. It’s hard to grieve until I know for sure. 💔

Quokka7 · 05/11/2022 17:09

@CaliGirl47 I'm so sorry you've been left in limbo and passed from pillar to post. I had a similar experience with having to wait to confirm the bad news in my last pregnancy. It was over a week to see the consultant and the waiting was so awful. I really hope you have better outcome.

@Littlebear14 lovely news. What a relief.

@DrinkingAllTheGin I understand completely. Ive avoided early scans too. I might be having one this week through my midwife due to my last loss but am in two minds as to whether to..like you, whilst I dont have one, I can live in hope that everything is ok this time.

@thedust I'm also exhausted. I feel so lazy but I have zero energy. Hoping it improves in the next couple of weeks 🤞

sailinginthemed · 05/11/2022 17:26

I am so so sorry for your losses. @theodora2146 and @CaliGirl47

sailinginthemed · 05/11/2022 17:29

@CaliGirl47 Sorry, please forgive my post, I thought I read it was a loss. I truly hope that the next scan will show a very different outcome. I had a loss myself in similar circumstances but at the time I remember lots of posters saying it turned around for them at the next scan. You are in my thoughts.

firsttimelondonmummy · 05/11/2022 18:31

@thedust @Quokka7 I feel you!!
I am such a go getter usually and I just have no energy or motivation to do anything which is making it so hard to hide from work.

I can’t even face cooking dinners when my partner is at work and have just been eating cereal etc.

I have to say, my partner has been amazing and has been cooking all my meals and cleaning up after as well as getting me water in the night and helping me half asleep for the endless pees 😭😂

Really thought I had turned a corner today with nausea etc being 10+1 . But I have been so nauseous and absolutely EXHAUSTED today. House is a mess, laundry stacked up, but I really don't care at this point . I met a friend yday who had a MC in June but told me yday she got pregnant again and is 14 weeks. She said she had no sickness but lots of exhaustion. But she seemed ok now, oh how I wana be at 14 weeks !

firsttimelondonmummy · 05/11/2022 22:32

@tigerlily0 sorry to hear that! Same here with the lack of housework 😭
Really reassuring to hear your friends symptoms though as I’ve been panicking about my lack of sickness but has loads of exhaustion 😴
Looking forward to hopefully getting to 14 weeks myself I’m only 7 today 🤞🏻

9+2 today and so tired. Last early at work then I've booked annual leave tomorrow for my scan so I don't have to worry about going in afterwards. My ear ache is agony. Worrying it's a temporal arthritis problem. I'll talk to midwife Wednesday at my app. It's getting me down and hot water bottle not helping.

blebbleb · 06/11/2022 08:15

I'm 8 weeks plus 1 and the tiredness is a killer! It was the same when I was pregnant with my son. Definitely passed after 12 weeks so I'm looking forward to that!

Hlc86 · 06/11/2022 08:47

I've got my booking in appointment on Wednesday, I will be 8+1. It seems to be going so quickly these first few weeks, but then I have been lucky with not many symptoms (apart from sore boobs), but then that does make me worry and then doubt the fact I am pregnant (if that makes sense). Today I'm lucky in the fact I can actually have a bed/lazy day, done all my jobs yesterday.. Then roll on a 50hr week next week which will be tough 😢. How's everyone else holding up?

Hlc86 · 06/11/2022 08:49

Also have a question, do they always date you from the first day of your last period even if you have 35+ day cycles?

sleepymama3 · 06/11/2022 09:04

@Hlc86 great that your appointment is nearly here, makes it seem more real. Your worry is entirely understandable, I go between days where I'm horribly ill all day (but oddly reassured) and days where I only have tiredness (but then I worry!).
Hope you'll be well supported this week, 50 hours is rough at the best of times.
Last pregnancy I had short cycles and they predicted the due date based on that at first, but updated it to a few days later once they scanned. I believe scan usually trumps cycle.
