@theodora2146 so sorry for what you are going through. All the best for the future! ❤️

B1993 · 03/11/2022 09:46

I'm just home from my scan at EPUA! Thankfully, everything looked good - a wriggly baby measuring roughly 8+2 was seen! Heartbeat nice and strong too 💗💗

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture to show you all because they had a brand new machine arrive and I was the first person they've used it on, so it wasn't hooked up to a printer yet. Although, to mark the occasion, me and DH were asked to have a photo for the hospital newspaper! 😂 🙈

BobbySD345 · 03/11/2022 09:46

@theodora2146 so sorry ❤️ xx

justbelieve · 03/11/2022 09:58

@B1993 yay!! Was this your first scan for this pregnancy?

B1993 · 03/11/2022 10:41

@justbelieve I had a scan through the EPU a few weeks ago as well, due to experiencing bright red bleeding. As I had more since, they agreed to check in on baby again. Thankfully, all is well!!! 🙌🏻🥳💖🥰😍

CaliGirl47 · 03/11/2022 12:43

I’m so very sorry to hear your news @theodora2146 Sending love and solidarity to you. 💗

I fear I might be in the same boat. 😔 I had my re-scan at the private clinic this morning and they could see baby measuring 9+1 even though I’m supposed to be 9+4 but they couldn’t get a heartbeat trace 😭😭 I’m absolutely devastated. I had my flu vaccine on Monday when I was 9+1 so I feel in my gut that this must be related to that. Because that appears to be when bay stopped growing. I was having shooting pains in my arm for 72 hours after having the flu jab. Heartbeat was seen at my previous scan so I know it was a viable pregnancy. And clearly baby had grown but there was only a slight trace of a heartbeat like a tiny flicker and baby was not moving 😞😔😣 My ultrasound technician tried ringing my hospital to refer me for further care but they said it had to be from a GP so I drove to my GP sobbing my heart out and he said he’s sending a referral. But who knows how long that could take. Could be days/weeks? I have had no bleeding or cramping but I feel like it’s just a matter of time. My gut tells me that baby is dying in there 😔 and I’m so heartbroken and feel so helpless.

While I was with the GP I asked him to write me up a prescription for a strong pain killer just in case. I am bracing myself for the worst. I don’t know what else to say except I’m so sad.

I’m really glad that your scan went well @B1993

I really wish all of you the best on the rest of your pregnancy journeys.

firsttimelondonmummy · 03/11/2022 13:12

Hey everyone,

Had a bit of a break due to panicking about not seeing a HB at what we thought was 6+2 and everyone else seeing there’s.

@theodora2146 , @CaliGirl47 I’m so so sorry to hear both of your news.
You are both in my thoughts. ❤️
Sending baby dust should trying again be in your future plans x

We had a scan today and turns out we are 6+5 today and a strong heartbeat at 122bpm was seen.
Had a bit cry of relief.
Definitely aware we have a long way to go but gave us some much needed hope 💖

Some sad posts on here today. I am so sorry both ❤️

I don't feel very well today. I can't decide if I might have a water infection but we are at Butlins Bognor so it's not like I can just drop a sample at the GP.

I'm also taking the progesterone pessaries and don't know if they are making me feel a bit yuck. They're certainly making my urine frothy which is a bit gross.

australianish · 03/11/2022 14:37

@theodora2146 - I’m so sorry for your loss.

@CaliGirl47 - I’m so sorry this is happening to you - fingers firmly crossed for you (and your little one).

theodora2146 · 03/11/2022 17:13

Thank you all so much for your kind words, it's been a very emotional couple of days.

The scan confirmed the loss today, the sac was measuring at around 8 weeks so it all happened very quickly.

I truly wish everyone the very best for your sunny June babies.

Mine just wasn't meant to be this time, praying for a rainbow 🌈 in 2023 💞

BobbySD345 · 03/11/2022 18:28

@theodora2146🌈💖 thinking of you x

Hlc86 · 03/11/2022 18:36

@theodora2146 sending you all the baby dust 💖 ✨

@theodora2146 and @CaliGirl47 I'm
so sorry 💔 Please don't think of it as anything you've done (or not) Cali as, truth being told, it probably wasn't the fact that you had your flu jab. I had mine this pregancy and with my first and it hasn't caused any complications, so, for anyone who is unsure about whether or not to get it, I would definitely do your research as contracting flu in pregnancy can be detrimental. I know when you experience loss like this, you go through everything you did and didn't do and wonder if it could have been prevented. I just wanted to empathise that you didn't cause this by having the flu jab and while it's really difficult not knowing the exact reason your baby was lost, Chromosomal abnormalities cause about 50% of all miscarriages in the first trimester.

I found lots of comfort on the baby loss threads on MN - if you need someone to talk to that has been in your shoes, the ladies on there are so supportive. I wish you both lots of baby dust and lots of luck with your future pregnancies 💖💖

HalWin2221 · 03/11/2022 19:12

@B1993 thanks for saying that. I have mine booked for tomorrow and I was starting to question whether to go! X

Síomha · 03/11/2022 19:12

I’m so sorry to read what’s happened @theodora2146 and @CaliGirl47 😔

I am feeling utterly defeated at the moment. I seem to have developed really bad morning sickness, it ticks the boxes for hyperemesis and I’m finding it so difficult.
Going to the GP in the morning in the hope they will be able to help. Nothing is alleviating it.
I’m only 6+6

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 03/11/2022 19:54

Sorry @CaliGirl47 and @theodora2146 .

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 03/11/2022 19:57

Ffs stupid phone posted too soon.

@CaliGirl47 @theodora2146 I hope you both get good luck and wishing you the very best x I can't imagine how painful it must feel.

8+6 today. I've so far eaten a bowl of custard and a tin of beans and sausage. I've drank half a coffee. I know I'm not eating and drinking enough but I'm struggling. Going to start drinking a lot more water as I'll start dehydrated soon. My appetite has gone entirely. Hoping my scan on Monday looks ok and baby is growing fine.

AstroH · 03/11/2022 20:19

@theodora2146 and @CaliGirl47 ❤️‍🩹 my heart goes out to you both, I’ve been thinking of you over these past few days.

I had the flu jab on Monday on the advice of my midwife. I also had the new covid jab while I was in the US a few weeks ago. I had a scan today and baby was fine. Measuring 9+4, exactly spot on from the previous scan.

My symptoms have been fluctuating a bit these past few days, which has been giving me lots of little panics, but it seems like everything is okay 🤞🏾

LT103 · 03/11/2022 20:32

We had a scan today too. 9+3 and measuring spot on

also got our appts through. So we have community midwife on Monday but now hospital midwife on 17th and “12 week scan” on 1/12. I’ll be 13+3. I was hoping it wouldn’t be as far on as that but it will all be to do with appt slots.

it doesn’t say on the letters but do partners come to midwife appointments?

NalaNana · 03/11/2022 20:35

@LT103 I didn't take my OH to my booking appointment but I asked the midwife if he could/should come with. She said he's welcome to but they're mainly for checking obs/checking in with me. She said at the 25 week appointment they listen to the heartbeat with a Doppler so that's a good one to go to x

BobbySD345 · 03/11/2022 21:48

@LT103 re the midwife appointments, the first one is just height weight BMI BP choosing which hospital, referral to consultant if complicated medical history, no doppler etc so they usually say partners better for the later appointment when there's more "action" so to speak. Think some places they also give you your 12 week scan date although they do that via letter where we are. Think they start your notes off and get them ready for you to collect at a future date but some places are digital now and they use an app! Very fancy. They also ask questions about DV and support within the household so I think it is designed more for going solo. Having said that, emotional support is important and so, I'm sure they wouldn't turn him away if you wanted him there ❤Also handy if you are like me and zone out as he would be a second ear to pick up on anything she says that you miss lol! Hope this helps x

Littlebear14 · 04/11/2022 06:58

Hi everyone,
Has anyone had any spotting at all?
I am 8 weeks tomorrow and the past day have had very light spotting, kind of brown - the same as when I had implantation bleeding.
I'm obviously panicking!

B1993 · 04/11/2022 09:14

@HalWin2221 the advice from the nhs is to get the vaccine as catching the flu can lead to complications in pregnancy. It's not for me to say if you should or shouldn't though, but I looked at the benefits of getting it and decided that far outweighs any side effects!!

Congrats to those of you who have had reassuring scans recently! Glad to hear that everything was spot on! 🥳💖

🙋🏻‍♀️I have @Littlebear14! Bright red spotting and light red spotting at 4weeks and 8 weeks. Both times it went from red, to pink, to brown and lasted a day or two. Had a scan at 6 weeks and one this week and both have been great!! 💗🥰😍

How far along are you? It could be something or it could be nothing, I'm aftaid. Unfortunately it's a waiting game but I do hope everything works out for you and bub! 🤞🏻

Littlebear14 · 04/11/2022 09:16

@B1993 Thanks so much. That's the thing, lots of people said they experienced it and it's normal, but then you also see the opposite 🙈
I am 8 weeks tomorrow. I had a private scan at 6w4d and everything was good and we had a healthy heartbeat of 129. But I'm aware things can change quickly 😢
The spotting is very light, a brownish tinge and only when I wipe. The waiting is awful!
I already had implantation bleeding at 4 weeks which was very similar.
