Starting a new thread as other is full.

Hi ladies, been watching the thread for a while. Due at the end of June on baby number 2.
@justbelieve I had a rotten day yesterday. Not so bad today. Lemon and ginger tea helps, with a digestive biscuit. My husband has been tasked with taking out the bins as I can't handle the smell.

I don’t feel like my boobs are sore at all anymore spiralling a little bit :( anyone had sore boobs at the start but not anymore?

@justbelieve no tips unfortunately, though last pregnancy I found dry crackers would help if it flared up badly.

I think I'm on the cusp of nausea, it comes and goes but very mild. Mostly just that gassy kind, where you feel nauseous then burp and it feels better, I'm burping every 10 minutes or so 🥴? Is anyone else feeling this way, I'm wondering whether it's all in my head as it's different to the all day nausea I had with my daughter.

I'm now 6+1 according to LMP. The nausea kicked in two days ago and it's making me miserable. Haven't actually been sick though thank goodness. I find nibbling on fruit and digestives somewhat helpful. Lots and lots of sipping on water too. I'm quite hungry but I don't know what to eat because I feel so sick and then being hungry makes me feel even more sick! Serves me right really as I wanted "reassuring" pregnancy symptoms

@HalWin2221 When I found out at 4 weeks I had sore boobs for about 2 weeks then it stopped. They were sore to point it hurt if i knocked them by accident. I had a scan at 7 weeks showing heartbeat 💓

I'm 8+4 now and boobs have stopped. Still swollen though. Last 3 days evening nausea has started. I feel tired so much and can barely eat in evening. Last night at work I kept having to leave office feeling nausea. So far today I've managed crackers and salty things only. Got another scan on 7th.

Don't panic, sometimes our symptoms do change.

@justbelieve sp far the only things that are helping my nausea is salt and vinegar crisps or nibbling on little bits of the crystallised ginger you get in the baking aisle. That or a sherbet lemon haha. No idea why. I’m 9+1 and the nausea is constant. Would almost rather I was being sick as then it might ease off for a bit

That is exactly how I would describe mine too! @GemmaJen I feel constantly nauseous like a motion sickness but never actually to the point of being sick. And the burping, I don’t think I’ve ever burped so much in my life.🫢

I will be glad when this eases off, hopefully soon. I heard nausea can peak in week 9/10 so I’m hoping I don’t have it for much longer since I am 9+2 today. I didn’t have any nausea at all with my first pregnancy so this is all strange to me. Has anyone tried those motion sickness wristbands? Not sure if they are suitable for pregnancy, but I’ve always seen them advertised for motion sickness and wondered if they work.

I told my boss today that I was pregnant, as the dizzy spells are quite frequent and I need to likely work from home more as I have to commute 70 miles into London 3 times a week.

He was really supportive and told me his wife is currently 8 weeks pregnant, so he understands and said we can keep it between us two for now until I’m ready for him to notify it to the company (he’s also keeping his a secret) - very relieved!

Has anyone else told their boss yet?

I'm 9+4 and the nausea is still bad, though last week was defo worse. I wake up ok but need to eat something asap or else I have empty stomach dry wretch going on. And then when I do eat, it makes me feel awful for the rest of the day until around 5/6pm when I get hungry again. Then I eat then I feel awful. Basically ur muscles relax when pregnant, like uterus muscle but in turn ur gastro muscles also relax which slows down digestion. That's what I have found is causing the issue, basically my food is just sitting in my belly and making me sick. Burping helps but I can't burp on demand, I have to have something to make me burp. Ice pops help. But otherwise just feeling rotten all day long

I know I need to eat this evening or I'll start being hungry and dizzy but I have no appetite whatsoever. I'm wondering if I can heat up instant mash and nibble.

@BellaTheDarkOverlord mash sounds like a great idea! It’s been one of the things I can reliably eat.

Thinking of all of you with bad nausea. Mine hasn’t been too awful today but yesterday & the weekend was bad. My midwife suggested the travel band things, said they can help and eating little and often. My symptoms have definitely come and gone and every time they go I panic!

I’ve been incredibly anxious today. I have a private scan on Thursday morning and I think it’s hugely got to me. Anyone got any tips on managing scan anxiety? I really need to get some work done tomorrow and meet a deadline. Today was just a write off, think I did about an hour before giving up 😭

@HalWin2221 i had really sore boobs for the first 10 days but noticed today they’re easing off, it’s worrying when symptoms seem to go isn’t it but from what I’ve ready it’s totally normal ☺️

@AstroH it’s reassuring to here about your symptoms too. I’ve been exactly the same at work, I just can’t get stuck into anything! I’m sure your scan will be fine 🙏🏽 how far along are you?

for those of you with nausea when did it start? I’m 5+4 today and had it from the moment I woke up and it’s just eased off about an hour ago! There is a bug going round at work so not sure if I’m to early for nausea and it may be that?

I’m 9+2 today and last had a scan when measuring 7+3, everything was okay then. I was thinking about booking something for about 11 weeks because my NHS scan isn’t until I’m 13 + 1 but I’m not sure if I can afford it! Hopefully everything will be fine on Thursday and my mind will be put at rest for a while.

@AstroH did you see much at 7+3? I want to book a scan but so conflicted on when to book. 9 weeks is a good time to scan because you’ll be able to see it’s little limbs as stumps I think? 🥲 hopefully it will put your mind at rest until your nhs scan! They are so expensive aren’t they.

@AstroH if you find any tips to manage scan anxiety, let us know. I'm in tomorrow afternoon, spent much of the day on 111, with gp and EGAU. Got to go back tomorrow for the scan and blood test results, I'm petrified. Didn't help that going back into the unit today reminded me of my mmc management 3 years ago, was crying before they even came to check me in. Eurgh I hate the first trimester. Got my midwife booking appointment in the morning and then meant to be working until I go on, got so little achieved today, I'm going to be so behind with work 😑

@AstroH im similar. 9+1 today. I had a scan at 7 weeks and have a private scan booked for Thursday evening. Good luck!!
i don’t plan to do any more until my nhs scan now but we’ll see

@HalWin2221 i had a scan at 7 weeks exactly. Had a heartbeat and could see limb buds starting. I wouldn’t go for less than 7 weeks as there’s a chance you might not see heartbeat

@HalWin2221 I was amazed at how much we could see and it was abdominal! I’ve attached a photo here.

We could see the flashing “heartbeat” really clearly too. I don’t know if the sonographer was just magic or if the bean was in a good position but I was really surprised/glad. I went for 7 rather than 6 weeks so we had a better chance of seeing the heartbeat but wanted it asap so I knew it wasn’t ectopic or blighted.

@AstroH thats such a lovely scan! 🥲 I bet that was so reassuring! Which company did you go through? We are thinking between 7-8 weeks I think, if we get that far 🤞🏽

It was a company in the US, as I was out there working for the first 4 weeks of the pregnancy. I’m not sure if they have better equipment over there or if we just got lucky!

The company I’m using on Thursday is in Haywards Heath which is near where my mum lives. If you’re localish lmk and I’ll give you the details/review!

Oddly, the only thing that helps my nausea is giving in and being sick. I then feel fine for the rest of the day, as long as I dont get too hungry!

I think I'm going to be out, I've got a scan tomorrow but had more bleeding and passed 2 clots just a little bigger than a 50p. I'd be 8 weeks tomorrow 😢

@theodora2146 so sorry to hear this. Try and stay positive it really could still be good news. Have you had any other symptoms? Keeping everything crossed for you
