I'm new to this thread so hello. Just had a early scan today at 6 weeks 4 days and saw the heartbeat! Feels more real now!

LT103 · 31/10/2022 13:34

9 weeks today and feeing rough. Not had any sickness but the constant nausea is not pleasant. Struggling to eat by the time it gets to dinner too. Few dizzy spells but other than that all going well so far.
we had a scan at 7 weeks at ivf clinic and have a private scan booked for this Thursday so can’t wait to see the difference.
first midwife appt a week today too.

im def keen to join a fb group but yeah maybe in a few weeks

Tor88 · 31/10/2022 14:29

Link to Facebook group not working for me - I think it would be nice to have one though as perhaps a bit easier for people to reply directly to comments that away without things getting lost in thread?

I was in one for my first pregnancy (which I swiftly left after MC) but whoever set it up did it as a completely private group so none of our Facebook friends would see we'd joined it.... I'm in a few groups like this for miscarriage and endometriosis and they deffo don't show up on your feed or anything like that xx

Sunflowerx · 31/10/2022 14:54

The Facebook group has been reopened for any new joiners! :)

Hello everyone - I’m new to the thread - 36, first baby, currently 8+2. We paid for an early pregnancy scan last week after a MMC earlier this year. Everything looking healthy and normal - so far!

We’ve decided to have an NIPT test privately at 11weeks - I gather this means I don’t need to request any screening at my NHS 12 week scan? Sorry if that seems like a daft question from a first-timer.

Thank you!

Tor88 · 31/10/2022 15:17

@NalaNana ah thank you!

Congratulations! Not a daft question I went round the houses with this issue with my first. I eventually did both, as got told by my midwife that the bloods they do at the 12 week screening can potentially highlight other potential issues that are not connected to the trisomies that the NIPT tests for.

I have no idea if this is accurate or not, I've subsequently heard that some hospitals won't do the screening if you have already had tge NIPT.

I went into my 12 week NHS screening last time relatively nerve free as I had my NIPT results already. They just added a note to my file that I had a low risk NIPT result and still gave me my NHS calculated risk factor.

Planning to do the same thing again this time, just out of interest as to what my risk would have been.

Obviously all different if the NIPT results aren't good 😬

Hey - I’ve def had on and off lower back ache. It’s come on a bit stronger today but I’ve had it since implantation. Had a scan today (6+1) - heartbeat seen etc. So think it’s just one of those symptoms from all the stretching etc.

jjunebug · 31/10/2022 19:04

Thanks for reopening the Facebook page! I've sent a request 🥰

Hopeful1992 · 31/10/2022 19:39

@Texasholdem20 thank you, I’ve had cramping and lower back ache since I got the positive test, I’ve read it’s all normal but can’t help over think everything 😂

DrinkingAllTheGin · 31/10/2022 19:40

I also get the lower back ache. 8+1 today and get it off and on all the time.

LT103 · 31/10/2022 20:11

Is anyone else struggling to eat? I can manage breakfast and usually fine at lunch but I then feel full and sick for rest of day and really struggling to eat later in day. Just worried not getting enough calories or nutrients in

AstroH · 31/10/2022 20:37

I had my booking appointment today. All went well and my midwife was lovely, I hope it get to see her again. She referred me to a consultant (I think that’s what she said- she might have said consultant midwife) because of my anxiety about the pregnancy and particularly about the fear of the birth. Has anyone else had this?

I got the 12 week scan towards the end of November (I’ll be 13 weeks) and then this appointment beginning of January.

@Hopeful1992 I’ve had a bit of backache and it’s definitely getting worse! (I’m 9+1).

@LT103 I’ve been struggling to eat. I’ve found being cooked for makes it easier to eat healthy things, thank god for DH. But I’ve also just let myself eat whatever I can (which today meant 2 donuts 🤣). My nausea is definitely worse in the night/first thing in the morning and then by dinner time.

3ToB · 31/10/2022 21:03

5+1 today (according to app).
Told DP tonight.
It's official in our home 🥰

@3ToB ah what a cute card !!! I shoved a positive test under my Hubby's nose when he had COVID to try and cheer him up. It was also his Birthday. I probably should have wrapped it up or something ! Nevermind. I'm useless at keeping secrets. I still can't get through to the community midwives to book my first appointment. So frustrating. My app says 6+4 so I have plenty of time but it is nice to have a date to work towards. I have started taking the progesterone which is extremely unpleasant. Anyone else taking it? X

BobbySD345 · 31/10/2022 21:34

@AstroH completely with you on being more successful with meals if someone else cooks it. I think the preparation and smell of the cooking means by the time it's ready I don't want it. Whereas if I just get handed it, much easier !

Anyone else finding certain smells really 🤢 I am on my 3rd shower gel and can't deal with any of them. Sanex 0% is next on the list ! Scent free lol

DrinkingAllTheGin · 31/10/2022 21:36

I've just got home from picking DH from the train and we stopped for spoons on the way home.
I barely ate half!

3ToB · 31/10/2022 21:44

@BobbySD345 From one positive to another 😄
Did it do the trick for him?
I only did the test on Friday just gone, at 4 days late. So ordered the card straight after and waited for it to arrive today. It's been a ballache if I'm honest ha. Hoping he doesn't make me wraps for dinner with pepperoni and salami pieces on and offering me a beer on Saturday night 🙈🤣
Can breathe a bit now x

LouLa7 · 31/10/2022 22:01

@NalaNana @Sunflowerx amazing, thank you! I've just requested to join 😊

Thanks for this - did you flag the NIPT before your 12 week scan or during the appointment?

I’m also having some lower back pain!

Whentwobecomesthree · 01/11/2022 06:15

@PrincessLeia22 I just told the sonographer before she started scanning

justbelieve · 01/11/2022 07:43

I’m 6+1 today and woke up feeling so nauseous and just overall a bit down in the dumps 😞 it doesn’t seem to be made any better by food and just the thought of food makes it worse.

Do any of you ladies have any nausea tips?
