Morning all! Have been away with my parents, husband and son for the last few days which had been a lovely distraction. Tried another CB this morning and got my 2-3 which is encouraging. I'm 5+3 if anyone else is waiting on theirs but I didn't test over the last few days as I wanted a mental break. Have a scan at 6+4 so only another week and then hopefully I can relax a little bit!

Beula82 · 31/10/2022 07:59

Hi! Looping back into this, what a lovely group. I’m 5+6 now with a 2 and a half year old and god I’m exhausted. Just had an argument with DH as I’m wrung out and sick and he doesn’t seem to understand. This first trimester is hard. But so over the moon to be expecting again and just crossing my fingers for this to stick.
I had a previous MC at 6 weeks and so keen to get an early scan for reassurance. I’m wondering when to book, is it best to wait for 8 weeks or am I likely to see a heartbeat at 7? Itching to do it now I’m nearly 6 but just want to make it worth it.

TrulyMiss · 31/10/2022 08:44

And thanks again @B1993 for the wise words!!!

firsttimelondonmummy · 31/10/2022 09:04

@Beula82 I had an abdominal at 6+2 and he said too early for HB I’m now having to spend another £80 to go back this week.
After going through that I’d definitely advice waiting till 7!

@3ToB hopefully it's all okay, I've just got some brown stuff now but only when I wipe. I've got a scan on Thursday so fingers crossed all is well and I will be 8 weeks 🙂

I think I remember someone saying there is already a Facebook group but I'm not 100% sure? I'm in one from when I had my daughter and it's great!
I also don't think people can see if you're in a private group but I may be wrong...

There is a Facebook group but a couple of weeks ago there was a vote on there about whether to restrict it to other joiners so it doesn't become too large, I think they restricted it x

natkasz · 31/10/2022 10:00

@TrulyMiss when I was pregnant in late 2019 I was told they would not scan me privately until I was 9 weeks. Things have clearly changed as they are now regularly scanning from 7 weeks. I have booked my reassurance scan for when I'm bang on 9 weeks.

How is everyone doing? I must admit that apart from insomnia and massive boobs I have no other symptoms. I am 6+3 (based on the likely conception date) and I remember being nauseous at this point when I was pregnant with my DS. The clearblue digital (which I swore I wouldn't buy 🙈🙄) is showing 3+ so I'm trying to stay positive 🤞🤞

Whentwobecomesthree · 31/10/2022 10:20

I had an abdominal privately at 6+3 and got a heartbeat (two in fact 😳) I genuinely think a lot of it has to do with the quality/strength of the machine they use. Some are super detailed super early and some not so much.

I would always book a private ultrasound that also offered Trans Vaginal. Unless you have a reason for not wanting that of course.

And just to hopefully reassure you. I had tonnes of symptoms and bad nausea with my first from before 6 weeks. This time I've got absolutely nothing except for tiredness (and I'm quite hungry!). Not even sore boobs. And there are two babies. I genuinely don't think I'd know I was pregnant this time. I guess what they say is true. Every pregnancy is different!

LouLa7 · 31/10/2022 10:28

@NalaNana oh gosh really? So only the original people of this group are able to join?? Wow, that seems crazy to me! I have a group from my last pregnancy and there are 70+ people in it but it's so lovely. It's still going strong after after almost 3 years and I'm not sure where I'd have been without it 🥰 the more people the merrier I think but if we have to make our own I'm sure that will be fine too 😊 xx

I don't know if it's the original people from this group to be honest, a link was just posted on the other thread a while ago and I joined it. I think the vote was taken once it got to 150 people in the fb group because some people were concerned that it would get so big that it would lose that community feel x

LouLa7 · 31/10/2022 10:36

@NalaNana oh ok I see what you mean. Is it at 150 people already then? I can't find the link to join 🙈

TrulyMiss · 31/10/2022 10:37

@natkasz I think it depends where you go! I'm in Ireland and am going to the private clinic attached to the national maternity hospital so they have super equipment and do transvaginal etc. I am aware that I might have to go back a week later for a heartbeat but I've really struggled with anxiety this time and think I'll find it reassuring anyway if everything is where it should be and measuring right...

NalaNana · 31/10/2022 10:39

@LouLa7 it was at 150 but a few people have left if things didn't work out. I either can't figure out how to send a join link, or can't send a join link 🙃 I think it was on the previous thread tho, not this one x

NalaNana · 31/10/2022 10:41

@LouLa7 found it! Not sure if it will work though x

@Whentwobecomesthree Amazing news! Are twins running in your family?

@TrulyMiss Yeah I agree, it's good to have that option when you need reassurance. I had a really bad MC in February and want to know myself that everything is okay. Maybe they previously insisted on scanning me from 9w because they didn't have facilities to perform an internal scan 🤷‍♀️

TrulyMiss · 31/10/2022 10:46

@natkasz anything that helps is good! I think they usually get a heartbeat at 7 weeks so you could even move yours up to 8 weeks if you didn't want to wait so long... I am counting down the days!

Baby3herewego · 31/10/2022 10:52

@Whentwobecomesthree I’m 5 weeks and 5 days today and have no symptoms either. I keep dreaming about twins!!! Could you imagine of we are both in the same boat? 😊

No... completely out of the blue. Two separate sacs so likely fraternal but no family history. To say I was shocked was the understatement of the century. I went in with no symptoms so was fully expecting bad news, so to find out there was good news x 2 was a lot!

Weirdly a friend of mine who has twins also had no symptoms. I did test positive ridiculously early, 6 days before my period was due, which in retrospect maybe makes sense but it hadn't even entered my mind.

I had always thought twins sounded fun. But hit with the very real prospect of 3 under 3, I am not so sure! 😂 I've known for a bit over a week now and I'm slowly coming around to the idea. Slowly.

natkasz · 31/10/2022 11:11

@Whentwobecomesthree I didn't realise you test positive earlier with twins but guess it makes sense as there has to be more hcg produced.

I have always wanted 3 kids. I'm 36 and know that this pregnancy (if it sticks 🤞) is going to be my last given my age. I already have a 2.5 year old and as crazy as it sounds, I'd love twins 😊I I tested positive on Amazon cheapie 3 days before I was due (faint line) but the CB digital was consistent with my conception date so I think I'm definitely having one 😊

Baby3herewego · 31/10/2022 11:12

@Whentwobecomesthree I tested positive at 10DPO with a really strong line. Guess I’ll find out soon!

LouLa7 · 31/10/2022 12:08

@NalaNana ah yes, the link doesn't work unfortunately 😢 I don't suppose you would mind asking the admin if they could temporarily open it so a couple of us late comers could join would you? And then of course if it gets too close to 150 again then it can be closed x

LouLa7 · 31/10/2022 12:10

@Whentwobecomesthree wow, congratulations! Two little heart beats, how amazing. You'll do just fine although I can totally understand the nervousness 😊 xx
