@firsttimelondonmummy I don't remember it being so bad when I was pregnant with my son but then I guess it was right at the start of Covid and it felt like the world was ending 😂 I had a chemical last month which has definitely made it worse. I feel awful though - wrecked and off my food, sore boobs etc which are all good signs. Just need to wish a few weeks away! Heading to my parents' holiday home with them, my husband and son so hoping they all distract me!!

B1993 · 27/10/2022 12:06

@BobbySD345 , I missed your message yesterday about your fall - I’m sorry to hear that you’re still in lots of pain. 🤕 I’m assuming you went to A&E/spoke to a doctor since you have an e ray booked - did you book in a scan too? I think baby is well cushioned this early and still low down in your pelvis so I don’t think you have that to worry about, at least.

@BellaTheDarkOverlord, I’m glad you’ve finally got a good nights sleep! It makes all the difference is]n being able to function normally through the day, doesn’t it!

I posted this a while back, on the last thread, about the CB tests @TrulyMiss as lots of other ladies on here were worried about progression. In case it helps you now, have a look at the normal hCG ranges compared to the CB levels needed each week - they’re on the high side, which is why it’s perfectly normal not to see 2-3 or 3+ at 4-5 and 5+ weeks.

And welcome to the new joiners! Congratulations 🥳

Just a quick update from me; I’m struggling a bit today with anxiety after more red spotting last night. TMI (sorry) but the spotting came after me and DH were intimate. I know it’s normal as the cervix is more sensitive but feeling extra worried after the bright red bleeding I had at the start of this pregnancy and the previous miscarriage the month before that. 😰 I rang EPAU first thing this morning and they were quite reassuring as the light red had turned brown by the time I rang and seems to be stopping now. 🤞🏻🤞🏻They’ve booked me for a scan next Thursday as they didn’t have appointments for this week. It’ll be a long and nerve wracking wait but hoping all goes well with it, especially because it’s on mine and DH’s wedding anniversary!

Tor88 · 27/10/2022 12:34

@B1993 oh gosh I'm sorry, thats so stressful. My cousin had this exact situation after sex, totally panicked but it was all fine (her DH turns 2 today in fact!). I'm sure it'll be ok, but id absolutely be freaking out as well - you could always booked a private scan to get reassurance sooner?? Im really worried about dtd in case something like this happens 🙈

Tor88 · 27/10/2022 12:37

I was wondering if anyone on this thread is on medication for nausea?? I definitely don't have hyperemesis so I don't know if I should take anything, but I am nauseous 24/7. I've only thrown up twice but I'm feeling pretty constantly awful. I'm only 8+1 and I just can't see how I can keep going on like this with work and other commitments... Would love to hear anyone's experience if you're taking the medicine? Espesh anyone who's taking it even though they're not actually throwing up loads (I mean maybe I'm over thinking it and I just need to get a grip lol)

NalaNana · 27/10/2022 12:39

@B1993 I know it's stressful to see bleeding but it is very normal after sex! My best friend is pregnant and she has been spotting after every time. She's decided to stop for now as even though it isn't dangerous the anxiety is too much for her!

Okapi99 · 27/10/2022 13:41

@Tor88 yes, I've been on cyclazine for about 3 weeks now, and I've just got a prescription to stand ondansetron along side. My nausea is pretty much always there. I've only green stuck after my r riel shifts so I'm taking tonight and tomorrow night off whilst these new meds get into my system.

There are safe meds you can take in pregnancy, give your gp a call x

Savanna1990 · 27/10/2022 14:29

@LettyBee Yes I’m taking the same ones! Seems to have settled down a bit now. I hope it does for you too.

@B1993 i had some bleeding after sex last week. I haven’t had anything since.

Im 4+6 today and my only symptom today is sore boobs.

Hopeful1992 · 27/10/2022 14:34

Hope everyone is ok! The cramping is crazy today, I keep feeling convinced that AF is going to show up 😫 hope it subsides soon. I’m only 4 weeks today and we’ve booked a private scan at around 7 so just praying we get through until then 🤞🏽

Pumpkincat11 · 27/10/2022 15:07

How does everyone just carry on with normal life? 😂 I've had this week off (booked off as holidays), but I go back to work tomorrow and I can't keep my eyes open and I feel rough 😳 1000% not complaining, I'm so so grateful to be pregnant 💕

TrulyMiss · 27/10/2022 15:18

Thanks @B1993! I did see that chart before but it never occurred to me to Google normal hcg levels - I can't believe the range!!
I also had bleeding after sex last time and it freaked me out so much that I can't face it for the moment 😂 To echo what others said though, I currently have a lovely snotty 2 year d in the back of the car so it all worked out fine!

HalWin2221 · 27/10/2022 15:21

Anyone else getting lower back ache? I’m 4+6 today and it’s been constantly! Not sure if I’m just slept funny or it’s a symptom or something is wrong 🙁

you’ve all confirmed for me that I won’t be having sex until July 2023 😂 hope everyone is feeling ok!

FLA92 · 27/10/2022 15:26

I just did a test (i’m weeks today or tomorrow) and it was much lighter than when I did it weeks ago… haven’t had any bleeding or cramps but now I’m panicking! Regret taking the test, don’t know why I did it!!

FLA92 · 27/10/2022 15:26

6 weeks that should say^

BobbySD345 · 27/10/2022 15:34

@FLA92 maybe it is the time of day or the quality of urine. Our early pregnancy unit would scan me if I rang with any concerns so maybe try them and see? I'm sure everything is fine xx

Update on my hopalong status. 48 hour bed rest. Crutches. Trips to the loo only. What they don't realise is I have a 3 year old who will not leave me alone and going to the loo is an obstacle course because of the quantity of paw patrol covering the lounge floor.

I feel bad now reading about you all having sex. My Husband will be on a 9 month sex ban as I can't deal with the anxiety of spotting after !

B1993 · 27/10/2022 15:36

Thank you all 💖 You've made me feel better! I've had sex plenty of times since being pregnant this time around and with previous pregnancies but never had more than a speck of pink before. This came as such as shock due the the amount there was (tissue paper covered after wiping and spotting lasted for hours) and the fact that it was light red rather than pink or brown. I think I'm
just extra anxious too, given the previous loss and just can't seem to relax. Hoping all works out for the best though and the scan reconfirms everything is as it should be! 🤞🏻🤞🏻By that point I'll be 9+1 so should see a lot more too (hopefully, if all is well) than I did at 6+1.

@Tor88 I did consider booking a private one but the closest to me is a fair drive, husband is working all weekend and I've got plans so getting out of those without having to tell people would probably be difficult. EPAU did have an earlier appointment on Monday but again, don't want work to know yet so delayed it for my days off.

Until then, I'm hoping that, because I'll be busy, I'll be distracted and not have much time to worry about it!

Tor88 · 27/10/2022 15:45

@Okapi99 thank you 🧡 I never had it so bad in my previous pregnancies so I'm hoping it's a good sign but just feeling so sick all of the time! Got the point where I think I need to do something about it...

BobbySD345 · 27/10/2022 16:33

I can't believe the cost of a private scan !! I'm sure we spent more like £30 per scan back in 2019 ... nightmare !! £59 most in my area for a 15 min scan.

tigerlily0 · 27/10/2022 17:43

@Tor88 my nausea is ALWAYS there. It's so so awful. Im rarely sick but just constant nausea. I'm 9 weeks tmrw and I don't think iv smiled I'm 3 weeks cos I'm constantly frowning and got my nausea face on. It's not even food and smells anymore. My house makes me nauseous, my bedroom, driving etc. iv been signed off work for 2 weeks too because iv started getting migraines too and my head is just so woozy. I work with patients and I'm not about to risk their lives at the sake of me trying to be brave and show up, I can't concentrate. I got cyclizine, I might start it next week when kids go back to school, because it can make you drowsy. About to have an ice pop which sometimes helps.

Okapi99 · 27/10/2022 17:51

Yes tiger lily, the cyclazine made me so so sleepy. Some days I napped morning and afternoon and still slept all night! How my kids haven't figured out something is up yet I've no idea!!

Is anyone else on baby number 6 by the way?

Tor88 · 27/10/2022 17:57

@tigerlily0 ah bless you, that's good you're off work at least! Good knows how pregnant people parent, it must be a mare! Ice pop sounds amazing, gonna have to get on that...

I think I'll contact the gp about the cyclazine tomo then. I'm only 8 weeks so I doubt the nausea has reached its peak yet and it's just miserable. Luckily for me I am only the office 2 days a week and my boss is letting me be extra flexible atm so wfh most days

toomanysausages · 27/10/2022 18:07

Currently abstaining for a few weeks as worried about the potential spotting!

I have an early scan booked for when I'm 6+2 which is £80. Have another quote for £99!! They used to be much cheaper...

BobbySD345 · 27/10/2022 19:10

@toomanysausages they definitely used to be cheaper but then I suppose absolutely everything has gone up hasn't it... I've just found an early scan from 7 weeks for £55. Cheapest I've found so far and only 30 minute drive. Tempted to book it for 8 weeks.

I keep forgetting to nibble throughout the day to stop the hunger that then leads to nausea. Currently sat infront of a bowl of spag bol and can't face it 🤢

CaliGirl47 · 27/10/2022 20:00

BobbySD345 · 27/10/2022 16:33

Honestly I said this exact same thing a couple of weeks ago. @BobbySD345 I’m convinced that I didn’t pay £60 with my previous pregnancy in 2019. I spent ages looking online at booking a private early scan. Eventually I found a Groupon for a place 30 minutes away from me. It was on offer for £30 and then I had a discount code to use on top and ended up paying £20. I was chuffed with such a bargain! So it’s worth having a look on Groupon, you never know what you might find. It was a very lovely place and the staff were so friendly. Even though it was out of my way, I definitely didn’t spend the £40 difference on fuel to get there.

The only thing which was a slight disappointment is the ultrasound clinic which I booked with only had abdominal scan capabilities and not internal. And once I was there we discovered I have a tilted uterus so I could not see anything on the abdominal scan. That was at 7+5 days. They have booked me in for a free re-scan next week when I will be 9+4 days so I’m really hoping to have a better view then. But if you plan on having an early scan it might be worth asking if they have the equipment to do internal as well as abdominal ultrasound. Just in case.

Hopeful1992 · 27/10/2022 20:01

Think I’ve become a bit addicted to testing. I’ve been using internet cheapies in the morning just to check for progression. I did one this evening and it looks much paler to me but I had also drank a couple of litres of water. What do you think? FRER was very strong yesterday so I think I’m probably over thinking it and need to stop testing!! 14dpo today. Bottom is this evening and FRER was yesterday. Sorry feel like I’ve become such a worrier!!
