Hey ladies, I wonder if anyone would like to join me, I'm 4 weeks pregnant and am terrified! I lost a baby in June at 12 weeks and had to have surgical management, I'm so so anxious now!

Would anyone else like to join me on our journey! X

Still limited symptoms here!

A bit more tired than normal. And felt a bit emotional today.

Also did a really long walk and felt a bit dizzy after.

5+2 today

Anyone else got virtually no symptoms?

Houseelf90 · 19/10/2022 20:05

@GemmaJen thank you!
Oh god, I bet they thought you were some crazy woman 🤣 I’ve been a little ermm distracted/distant at work the last 2 days, I am hoping my manager doesn’t notice as I’d like to wait a couple more weeks before I tell her! I will tell her soon though so she’s aware in case of any sickness or if the worst should happen I haven’t got to explain too much!

I’ve also been sooo tired today and weird pains/cramps in my lower abdomen! No sickness though thank god! I have a phobia of sick/being sick so I’m really not looking forward to that arriving 🙈

Mayfield87 · 19/10/2022 20:12

Me @blueberry23 not even feeling that tired either 🙈 just need a wee more often and achy legs today- really hope all is okay 🤞🏻

Houseelf90 · 19/10/2022 20:12

Does anyone else feel like this is a really weird time?
Like I have tested positive but nothings official yet, I haven’t spoke to the Dr yet (need to change the address from my parents address first but have to go in to do that 🙈)
I want to tell people but need to keep quiet…..

I just feel very strange and not sure how I should feel!! Obviously I’m really excited and whilst I was hoping it would happen quickly (was 3rd cycle) I also thought it would take much longer!

Ash0 · 19/10/2022 21:12

I thought this today. Such a strange time.. I haven’t told any one yet. I go away with my partner at the weekend for his birthday so keeping it as a surprise birthday present. Haven’t called the DR yet so just life as normal, almost doesn’t feel real.

Especially as I’m light on symptoms to. I have sore boobs and cramping but that’s it. Apart from some horrible bloating, I look more like 15 weeks not 5!! Any one else suffering ?

Summersun1991 · 19/10/2022 21:15

@Ash0 im same, cramping and sore boobs. I was saying to my OH that I look 4 months pregnant already because of the bloat!

Houseelf90 · 19/10/2022 21:36

@Ash0 @Summersun1991 omg the bloating!! Literally feeling huge!!! I ordered some new jeans last week (before I knew I was pregnant) same make/style/size as I always have and went to put them on for work this morning….couldn’t get them done up 🙈🙈 hoping I will actually get in them at some point before I need maternity jeans but have told my other half he can get me some mat clothes for Christmas!

GemmaJen · 20/10/2022 08:12

Having a tough morning, tested and it was lighter then yesterday's line, tested again in the same pee and it was darker but on par or slightly lighter than yesterday. I know I'm being paranoid (these tests are clearly not perfect) and it might mean nothing but I'm so scared of losing this one 😢

Not sure how I'm going to get through the day, I just want to ball my eyes out.

Houseelf90 · 20/10/2022 08:31

@GemmaJen sending virtual hugs to get you through the day!! Could it be that you drank more yesterday evening so your pee was less concentrated?
I haven’t tested since Tuesday evening….planning on testing again tomorrow morning but after that I’ll either not test again or I’ll do a digital over the weekend/next week. Partner is of the stance that once we have a line I’m pregnant so don’t need to keep testing but he doesn’t understand how hard that is!!

Ash0 · 20/10/2022 11:29

@GemmaJen also sending virtual hugs.

I never realised that testing constantly was even a thing to do until being on this thread. But I can completely empathise with why you do and how much of a stress it is. I have to admit having read this and having less symptoms than I did last week the temptation is very strong.

GemmaJen · 20/10/2022 12:22

Thanks @Houseelf90 and @Ash0 I've called down a little, but the test is definitely lighter. Don't think I was any better hydrated, so it shouldn't be that. I'm not sure what to do, whether to test tomorrow, leave it to Saturday... I feel super anxious. I've done 2 more tests and they're on par with the darkest one from today, but still lighter than yesterday. These tests can be super inconsistent, so yesterday's may have just been super dark. IDK I'm trying to convince myself one way then the other. I would not recommend testing frequently! I did with my daughter so I'm comparing to where I was with her at this point and her tests were super dark by now, clear jumps between days. That doesn't necasarily mean anything, but it's adding to the worry. I'm over thinking it, but I just can't get my mind onto anything else.

If I get to the 12w week scan successfully I'll be putting lots of reassurance posts out there, there aren't many when I Google that end positively. #Payitforward, if all this worry is for nothing, which I bloody hope it is! 🥴

How are you both doing today?

Houseelf90 · 20/10/2022 12:52

@GemmaJen bless you, I really hope you (and all of us!) get safely to the 12 week scan!
I’m really tired and just generally uncomfortable today!! My back is aching a little (though not as bad as it’s been) so I’m going to get my hot water bottle shortly! I’m currently working on my laptop on the sofa with a duvet 🤣 after 2 days in the office this is very much needed!

Is anyone planning on having an early scan?
I really want one at 8 weeks but it’s around £70 and I’m not sure I can justify spending that really when we can put the money towards baby items! Money is relatively tight for us at the moment (can enjoy the odd takeaway etc but £70 feels a bit steep when 4 weeks later we will have a scan anyway)

GemmaJen · 20/10/2022 12:54

In my endless searching for answers today on how to calm my anxiety I found this. It may be of help to someone else, and I'm sorry if my worry is causing any anxiety to others, most pregnancies run their course with no issues x

GemmaJen · 20/10/2022 13:01

@Houseelf90 I'll be going for an early scan, as you can probably imagine from my general anxiety 😅

We did them with the last two pregnancies, they can be really helpful in this long wait, but I'd recommend definitely waiting until after 8 weeks.

There's a place somewhat near to us that does them for £55, I would say its worth it if you can afford it, we went to them previously and they were such lovely people, really kind and understanding. They have clinics in Coventry and Leamington Spa. If you're in the region.

Houseelf90 · 20/10/2022 13:30

@GemmaJen thats a really good way of looking at it! We see so many early losses on here but I just think people don’t really talk as much about positive stories!! I hope reading this has made you feel a little better?

I asked my partner if he’d had them done with his previous kids (he has 2 but this will be my first) and he didn’t and kind of dismissed it saying we will just be guided by the Dr! I assume they don’t really go out their way to recommend it as it’s a private thing?
£55 is good isn’t it!! We are Lincs/Cambs border and I had a quick look and the cheapest I could find was £70 but I may have another look and see if I can find anything else!

Ash0 · 20/10/2022 18:12

The wait is going to drive me mad I can already tell, so I’m trying to break it down into little stages to get to instead of focusing on the 12 weeks. First one is really exciting of surprising my partner and finally telling him after a week of knowing. I’m bursting tonight to say but have a fun plan for tomorrow instead! (Sorry I had to tell someone or I think I’d cave tonight).
Then I’ll focus on getting to 6 weeks because that’s only half way 8 weeks is 1/3 there etc…

Houseelf90 · 20/10/2022 18:24

@Ash0 that’s so exciting!! I tested Monday afternoon it was such a faint line I was going to wait to tell my partner after I’d got a darker line but I felt so weird he would have noticed something was wrong! So I handed him a glass of port when he came in from work Monday night and told him them “I think I might be pregnant”…his response “why do you think”…me “because I did a test and there were 2 lines”…him “well generally yes that means you are pregnant” 😂😂😂

I see my dad every day and I feel so weird keeping this from him! We were going to tell my parents when we go over for takeaway in a couple of weeks but I might just cave and tell them this weekend!
We are also at my sisters for tea on Sunday and that’s going to be so hard to keep from her!

Phrenologistsfinger · 20/10/2022 20:28

I am joining you temporarily (with my 11th or 12th pg in 2 years) as I don’t expect to get past 6 weeks. I am 4w2d and line is faint so expecting an early loss. If it’s ok, I want to lurk to see where your symptoms are in comparison.

I’m nauseous, bloated, cramping and tired. All familiar symptoms so far. I think more queasy than in past pgs but trying not to let that give me any hope.

It’s annoying timing as we are meant to be doing round 5 of IVF embryo banking next month so this bfp will delay that, timing-wise and I don’t want to be doing IVF in December!

Houseelf90 · 20/10/2022 21:05

@Phrenologistsfinger welcome! Sorry to hear about your previous losses. I hope you’re here with us for the next 9 months 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Houseelf90 · 21/10/2022 07:14

Just tested again and there’s definitely some progression! Top pic is Tuesday eve and bottom one is this morning!
I don’t have anymore tests in the house and not planning on getting anymore, taking this as pregnant!

Congratulations House

Moosh18 · 21/10/2022 08:15

@Houseelf90 that's definitely progression!!! Maybe you ovulated later then you thought? Also those tests weren't dark for me until after periods due! X

@Phrenologistsfinger I'm so sorry for what you've been through... my best friends going through ivf now and has many failed attempts and her heartbreak is devastating to me, this could be your miracle baby! Please don't write yourself off, for now you are pregnant! And that in itself is such a gift xxx

Houseelf90 · 21/10/2022 08:35

@Moosh18 going by my last period I would be 4+4 today, AF was due between last Friday and Sunday (25-27 day cycles). I started spotting on Saturday which I assumed was just my period coming but I never got anymore than brown spotting between Saturday and Monday.
Didn’t test for ovulation, went by the Flo app so I guess I won’t really know until I have a dating scan!

GemmaJen · 21/10/2022 09:43

@Phrenologistsfinger that sounds incredibly difficult, I'm sorry you've had to go through that, sending so much luck your way, hopefully this is the one that sticks!

@Houseelf90 that looks like great progression!

I didn't test today and I feel much much better for it, I may test again over the weekend if my anxiety picks back up, but I'm going to try and stop torturing myself. I feel a bit queasy this morning, which is an oddly nice feeling 😅 so hopefully all is still well 🙏
