Hey ladies, I wonder if anyone would like to join me, I'm 4 weeks pregnant and am terrified! I lost a baby in June at 12 weeks and had to have surgical management, I'm so so anxious now!

Would anyone else like to join me on our journey! X

Well the morning sickness has come on full throttle out of nowhere - at 2am on a night shift Sad

How is everyone else coping with the sickness around work?

I work front line emergency services and I think I'm going to really struggle if this is what it's going to be like for the next few weeks - I was lucky tonight that I managed to hold it until I got back to my station but it's going to be tricky if I'm on an emergency call out in public!

Any advice or words of wisdom gratefully received Smile

Moosh18 · 17/10/2022 05:55

@FreyaHazel oh noooo! With my DD it didn't start til 7 weeks, but went right through till 20! It was so so bad, to the point I literally could not function, a couple of things moderately helped, a bottle of reallt really iced water with some fresh lemon, (only worked if I drank through a straw) and super sweets, if you suck on them, I did end up on medication, cyclizine, which by no means was a cure, but it did stop me actually throwing up for the most part, I hope it passes soon for you xxx

Nausea has hit today and only 4+4 🙈😩

Moosh18 · 17/10/2022 09:33

@Mayfield87 maybe it will pass? I've been feeling it on and off but only mild xx

@Moosh18 eating is helping so let's hope it's only mild 🤞🏻 so I think I've decided I am going to get an early scan...going to hold off until 8/9 weeks I think so it would be external.

Hi, I would like to jump on this thread also, please. Found out I was pregnant last week and I am 4 weeks 5 days according the the pregnancy+ App. I’ve informed the midwife unit and receives a letter saying I will have a call with them on 14th Nov. Does this seem late to you? I thought they idea was to go through what you should and shouldn’t be doing during this stage. This is my first time so I have no idea. Thanks guys!!

Moosh18 · 17/10/2022 14:33

@Summersun1991 the midwife doesn't normally see you till around 8 weeks, the nhs has some really good guidance of what to avoid in pregnancy! Xx

Thank you for the info, been reading bits but there seems to be so much information. Is everyone else’s first appointment by phone rather than seeing someone?

Moosh18 · 17/10/2022 14:38

@Summersun1991 I haven't even notified the docs yet, I'll do that when I get to about 6/7 weeks, mine is in person, but I know some people who've had babies recently and theirs was on the phone, I think it differs person to person, it's a booking apt on ohone, they will then book an apt on that call to go in for bloods and some tests xx

@Moosh18 ok that makes me feel much better. Thanks for your help. Nice to speak to people at the same stage.

Congratulations to everyone also ☺️

toucanfly · 17/10/2022 19:57

@Summersun1991 congratulations! I think 14th Nov sounds about right. Not much happens appointment wise in the first few weeks, even though it feels like there's so much going on!

I have felt pregnancy hormones in full force today, feeling quesy, short tempered and very emotional. So much fun this pregnancy stuff Wink

Hi, I’d love to jump on this thread to please, I’m 4 weeks 5 days. This is my first pregnancy and I am already a little lost. It would be amazing to be in touch with people at the same stage.
Only symptoms I’ve had are boobs getting bigger and a bit tender, awful bloating and cramps. Last night my cramp was so bad it woke me up. My cramps aren’t constant, but last nights worried me not knowing if this is normal or not? Has any one else experienced these ? Thank you!

Summersun1991 · 17/10/2022 20:52

@Ash0 Congrats! I’m 4 weeks 5 days and my first time also!
I’ve been getting the same cramping. Today I had it really bad but subsided after 10 mins. I also bent over to unplug a charger and has such a sharp pain on my right hand side. I think I might have an ovarian cyst but I think that’s common. Cramping is common to.
If they’re really bad maybe speak to a doctor to put your mind at ease ☺️

Ash0 · 17/10/2022 21:17

And congratulations back to to :) thank you, already feel more at ease to know it is something other people experience.

GemmaJen · 18/10/2022 06:05

Room for one more?
I got a bfp last Thursday, lines are now dark enough that I feel it might be real. Very excited but scared too, I've had chemicals and an 11 week mmc before, so I'm very much on edge. 4w4d today. I've got a 3yr old daughter, so this would be baby #2, fingers crossed! I booked in with the midwife in 2 weeks, feel like getting to that date will be the first hurdle.
Symptoms are sore boobs and near constant abdominal pressure, which is quite reassuring, if not a little uncomfortable.
I'm going to try not to test today, and wait till tomorrow - every test is anxiety inducing, are they darker, lighter, positive or negative!? Literally send me into a tail spin every time, took 4 tests yesterday morning, 3 of the same brand which were all different strengths on the same pee, absolutely terrified until I got a darker one on smu.

Hope you're all doing well today x

Moosh18 · 18/10/2022 07:46

@GemmaJen hey! Welcome, congratulations on your pregnancy, and I'm so sorry about your Mc!

I've gone coke Turkey on testing, I did my last one yesterday, they were just causing me more and more stress! With my Mmc they never ended up going lighter etc and I always had dark lines, so I don't know what the point in me testing anymore was 😂 I only get like a mins relief from the anxiety when I do! Xxx

GemmaJen · 18/10/2022 08:39

@Moosh18 thank you

I just can't help it, didn't want to test today, but shocker, I did.... Its like a compulsion! Slightly lighter than yesterday, but after yesterday's inconsistencies on the tests I'm not too worried, its still darker than the day before. Hopefully when I get a proper dye stealer I will step back from the tests, or at least run out of them! With my mmc I had lovely dark tests, so I know it doesn't mean much, but with the chemicals they got lighter pretty much straight after the first positive, so while I don't think this is the same, I'm just super nervy. I'm feeling like crap today, so that's reassuring, I can feel the start of nausea creeping up on me and super dizzy too!

@Moosh18 how are you feeling?

Moosh18 · 18/10/2022 08:59

@GemmaJen I've had really bad dizziness which has past, waves of sickness but not too bad yet, it's the tiredness that's the worst for me!!

I'm struggling not testing to be honest but I know it won't help me:( I don't even think our 8 week scan will as we had one before and all was perfect! I think i need to get past 12 weeks x

Hello!! Just wanted to join and say I’m struggling with not testing too!! I’m 4+4 today and I’ve been testing since last Wednesday. I’m only getting faint lines which is worrying me.

Had a MMC at 12 weeks in August and I’m so scared that something is going to go wrong again. I had a little bit of nausea yesterday which I suppose is reassuring but then I had cramping and was convinced I was going to start bleeding.

This is our first baby, keeping everything crossed atm 😊

Mayfield87 · 18/10/2022 17:24

So I've just done a clear blue weeks digital as my final test- got a 3+ result which is great, but I'm only 4+5 and 20dpo so was expecting 2-3 weeks. Maybe I'm more ahead than I thought 🤔

FreyaHazel · 18/10/2022 17:48

Thanks @Moosh18 - I'll definitely try some of those!

Weirdly no nausea at all though since that one episode the other night! I have no symptoms at all now apart from really sore boobs so I'm desperately hoping that it isn't a sign the pregnancy isn't sticking. I've held off testing the past 2 mornings and will test again tomorrow morning. Should be 4+5 today so would expect symptoms to have increased.

Congratulations to everyone who has recently joined this thread! It's such an exciting and nerve wracking time isn't it!

Wow that means your hcg levels are above 2700 I think?! Do twins run in your family as that is amazingly high for 20DPO? Congratulations!

Mayfield87 · 18/10/2022 19:56

My Nans brothers were twins 🙈 @Texasholdem20 I'm going for an early scan at 8 weeks to see if there is just one baby or twins... hoping I just have high levels of HCG and it's one baby as this will be our second.

Houseelf90 · 18/10/2022 20:05

Hi 👋🏼 tentatively joining after a faint positive yesterday afternoon on a cheapie and another today on a clear blue early detection this evening!

According to the flo app I’m 4+1 today. I’m planning on using my other clear blue early detection on Friday morning!
My only symptom really has been lower back pain so far although I did feel a little nauseous after a cup of tea at work today 🙈

GemmaJen · 19/10/2022 19:57

Welcome @Houseelf90

We're all symptom slotting, anything to pass these agonising early weeks. I've been pretty light on symptoms today, that is until I cried when McDonald's got my order wrong, boom out of know here... I really hope its hormones 😅 I'm not sure I can show my face in there again! Haha

Counting down to my mw appointment, 2 weeks today... Time feels like it's going super slowly!
