Hi everyone, I know this is might be a bit early to start a thread but after more than 2 1/2 years of trying the overwhelming excitement is real!

Me and my husband lost out first at 10 weeks back in December 2020 and to be honest had kind of given up. I only peed on a stick at 16DPO because a banana repulsed me to the point of spitting it out! Trying not to be too excited or paranoid, but we'll see how that goes. 🤣

I've ordered the Pregnancy after Loss book by Zoe Coates Clark in an attempt to keep my sanity, but the going to the loo fear of seeing blood is real. And I've booked an apt to talk to my GP on Thursday at 5+3 to talk about whether or not progesterone would be appropriate.

Thankfully my husband is level headed and reminds me not to get too ahead of myself yet, but it would be great to meet others in the same boat for a hand hold.

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl congrats! Did you find out gender or having a surprise 👀 - or are another boy, can't remember!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 22/12/2022 12:05

@MO22 a surprise! 💛💚💙💜

Blue2020 · 22/12/2022 15:01

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl thats great news, also you get to have another scan. Hopefully they will be in a different position next time.

Melusina123 · 22/12/2022 16:10

Great news @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl ! 💛💛💛

Anoushka1986 · 23/12/2022 05:21

Just wondering, are you all still lying on your back? I have forgotten when you are supposed to stop doing this

Melusina123 · 23/12/2022 06:47

@Anoushka1986 advice varies on this (some places say from 16 wks, some 20, 24 etc), but my sense overall is that it's trimester 3 you really need to worry about it. That said I've been trying to practice mainly sleeping on my left side, just to try and get in the habit.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 23/12/2022 07:12

@Anoushka1986 I've been practicing and my pregnancy pillow is helping!

Finally starting to develop a bump - my ribs are sore on one side, I imagine from a bit of stretching?

MO22 · 23/12/2022 08:35

@Anoushka1986 I read from 16 weeks so I've been trying like @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl with my pregnancy pillow, but I do find myself waking up semi on my back... I woke up with raging heart burn at 2am this morning (I've had it pre pregnancy so just knew it would be a symptom!) So have also been trying to stay on my left side as it's better for that.

You can still hang around a bit on your back right? That seems to be the best position for me to try and feel movements so I do lie like that a few times a day to see if anything in there!

MRSDoos · 23/12/2022 09:14

@Anoushka1986 I always fall asleep on my side anyway, but my pregnancy pillow has helped me stop rolling onto my back. Apparently they say it’s not a huge deal if you do accidentally wake up on your back

My midwife said that it’s mainly in 3rd trimester they say try your best not to lay on back

@MO22 Yes I still lay on my back sometimes in bed for up to 30 mins ish whilst watching tv, trying to feel baby kick me and on sofa etc

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 24/12/2022 10:47

Glad all is well @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl ! I've got to wait til Tuesday which is making me batty - I kept looking at private scans this week but it seems silly as it's so close.

DH is adamant I have a bump albeit very small and I can feel them moving a bit more I think!

Blue2020 · 24/12/2022 16:19

@Anoushka1986 I have been trying to sleep on my left side so I’m familiar with it. Pre-pregnancy I would usually sleep on my back. I use a little wedge pillow where I lie between two small wedges so it doesn’t take half the bed up with it.

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl for the past week when I sleep on my left at certain angles I have a bit of ache/pain under my left rib cage. Doesn’t happen on the right side.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 26/12/2022 10:04

Hey all, Merry Christmas 🎄🎁! How were your celebrations?

I am course feeling a bit anxious again but what else is new?! Day with wider relatives today so I expect a lot of baby related queries.

Anoushka1986 · 26/12/2022 11:13

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl do your relatives know that you are pregnant yet?

I've had a couple of moments of feeling happiness/excitement just now. I was such a happy pregnant woman with my DS and this time round it's been a completely different story, anxious and not believing it's real the whole time. It feels nice to have some moments of happiness with this one.

Anoushka1986 · 26/12/2022 11:15

My Christmas was good albeit tiring! Im relieved it's over and I can lie around again! Hope your Christmases went well.

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 27/12/2022 20:00

Merry Christmas all! We're trying to decide what pram to buy... so complicated!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 28/12/2022 10:21

Maybe we should start a list of EDD and whether or not we know their sex? Im EDD 18/05 and team 💛 (we didn't find out)

@Myotherusernameisaferrari I've finally got confident enough to make a giant list of things we need to buy and hoping to pick some up in NY sales.

@Anoushka1986 they do! They also didn't actually ask a lot about it 😂. I'm starting to get more happy moments too with some movement etc.

Anoushka1986 · 28/12/2022 11:25

Good idea @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl .

I'm due May 30th and already know I'm having a boy 💙

Melusina123 · 28/12/2022 11:29

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl @Anoushka1986

Great idea! I'm due May 4th and for all intents and purposes team 💛 although we do know ourselves what we're having.

We're off to John Lewis on the 3rd Jan to learn all about cots and prams! Feels like a big milestone me even being willing to book that in.

MO22 · 28/12/2022 12:25

Hi folks, hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

I'm due 24th May and will find out sex in two weeks!

As soon as that scan is done I am telling work properly, will book NCT and maybe think about buying some stuff. Feeling too nervous at the moment to commit to the above until then.

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 28/12/2022 19:46

I'm sure 18 May but they will be here mid to late April at the latest and I'm 💙🩷

Blue2020 · 28/12/2022 21:05

I’m EDD 6th May, found out we are having a boy. Also only just clicked on that the EDD is the kings coronation. Although what are the chances he will actually arrive on the due date? 4%?

Sera123 · 31/12/2022 09:23

EDD 27th May, won't find out sex until my scan on the 16th so a while to wait still! Technically that's after 21 weeks and later than the NHS wanted to book it for but we're abroad until then so not much choice and at least plenty of distraction in the meantime.

I have signed up for NCT classes a few weeks ago as I heard some people say by the time they were 20ish weeks along all the spots on their preferred course dates were booked out, so didn't want to miss out.

And think we will book a JL pram appointment in Jan to start to get an idea of what we want (then go see if we can find it secondhand!)

Melusina123 · 31/12/2022 09:35

@MO22 @Sera123 I booked NCT at about 17 weeks I think, and according to the website took the last spot on our "best" timing course. I think lots of people book after the 12wk scan (lucky them feeling secure enough to do it then...). I'm in London so courses might book up sooner, but just an FYI.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 31/12/2022 11:02

Est due dates:

@Melusina123 4th May 💛
@Blue2020 6th May 💙
@Myotherusernameisaferrari 18th May 💙💙
@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl 18th May 💛
@MO22 24th May 💚
@Sera123 27th May 💚
@Anoushka1986 30th May 💙

Lot of boys so far! If anyone else would like me to add theirs, let me know.

💜 = Girl, 💙 = boy, 💛 = mystery, 💚 = don't know yet but planning to find out.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 31/12/2022 11:04

I've got all brave and booked pregnancy yoga and ordered a crib (tutti bambini cozee)
