@Mum2two2022 it's such hard work !! I hope this newborn is quiet when they wake for night feeds so my toddler sleeps through it 😂 what's involved in the regression? Not sure we are there yet 😩

Mum2two2022 · 24/08/2022 06:44

@Butterflytulip I hope so too 😩😩 she just won't go to sleep at night time! But when she does eventually she's restless and waking continuously but conveniently for her sleeps in 😂 just means I'm not getting any sleep, she's wants more milk as well which is annoying. Praying it passes asap driving me crazy

Butterflytulip · 24/08/2022 06:48

Oh flip @Mum2two2022 we had that recently where she wanted to sleep in our bed, we let her but by third night I was freaking out that she'd never go back in the cot! So we just had to keep putting her down and saying night night and eventually after 30 mins it was lights out. A week later it's much easier 🤞🤞

Mum2two2022 · 24/08/2022 06:52

@Butterflytulip praying for us both! Haha, 2 year olds are defo hard work, she was an easy newborn so praying the next is just as easy. Cause if he's a nightmare it's going to be mental 😂😂

Butterflytulip · 24/08/2022 07:16

Aww a little boy @Mum2two2022 we don't know what we are having!! A surprise. Just over a week to go for us until c section

HaresHoping · 24/08/2022 11:13

Thanks @MummyRR and @annlee3817 for the hypnobirthing tips, I'll have a look at those ☺️

Anyone else doing batch cooking? I've done a few meals now so I'm starting on the batch baking today 😂 couple of lemon drizzles. #priorities

Fortuny · 24/08/2022 11:18

Oooh batch cooking is on my list to do Hareshoping what've you been making? I'm a terror for never eating or fancying what I make 😳 I saw a person on tiktok who just gets the ingredients prepped and freezes them in a bag, to chuck in the oven/slow cooker, rather than make the meal entirely. That was appealing - but can I find her recipe page again?! 😅

Fortuny · 24/08/2022 11:20

Is anyone planning to use a tens machine? I have lower backpain even without labour so it sounds ideal. But Id rather avoid gadget overload if they're useless. Can't figure out the difference between all the makes and models either

HaresHoping · 24/08/2022 13:13

Ooh that's a good idea @Fortuny ! If you do find the link let me know 😂 I've been making things like lasagne, sausage ragu, cottage pie, fish pie and meatballs. I think the fact I have slightly low iron levels has influenced this a bit 😂 thinking will also stock up on pizzas for the freezer.

I've hired a tens machine, it arrived the other day and having tested it out on my arm I think it might actually help a bit. It was £25 for a 6 week hire I think, so not too bad.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 24/08/2022 14:32

@Fortuny I get mine tomorrow they're apparently really good the advice I got was to put it on as soon as you start feeling contractions.. I am hiring the one that has the contraction counter so I don't need to be doing all that.. I would like to stay at home labouring as much as possible before I go to the hospital xx

Mum2two2022 · 24/08/2022 16:57

@Butterflytulip oooo how exciting! Good luck lovely!! Hope all goes well. How exciting xxx

Northernerinwales · 24/08/2022 17:59

Did anyone have any “signs” that they were going to go into labour soon before their labour actually started? Since last week I’ve been getting a lot of lighting crotch, increased back ache, restlessness, insomnia, a little bit of nausea and I’ve went from being constipated and moving bowels once a week to every day?!

Mum2two2022 · 24/08/2022 18:01

@Northernerinwales your symptoms are the very same to mine and would love to know the answer too! 😂 what's your due date?? Xx

Ooh that sounds nifty. Do you mind me asking where you rent? I've been looking at buying second hand but maybe I shouldn't bother and just rent one.

Northernerinwales · 24/08/2022 18:49

@Mum2two2022 my due date is the 12th September. I’m seeing my midwife on Friday so hopefully she can give me some indication 😂

Mum2two2022 · 24/08/2022 18:50

@Northernerinwales I'm the 15th!! Ooo keep me updated mine isn't until next Wednesday. Xx

Butterflytulip · 24/08/2022 23:50

@annlee3817 you must have had baba by now 🤞🤞🥰

annlee3817 · 25/08/2022 03:29

@Butterflytulip sadly not :( had twelve hours of solid contractions 1-2 minutes apart and then they stopped, in a queue of women waiting to go to labour ward to have their waters broken. Currently on the monitor as baby's heart rate is low, so am worrying about that now

MummyRR · 25/08/2022 04:03

Awww @annlee3817 sending you lots of good luck, fingers crossed everything will be just fine.

MummyRR · 25/08/2022 04:06

Has anybody's midwife mentioned the Vitamin K shot for their baby as soon as they arrive?
It's optional but makes sense to go for it. NHS says it can be given by way of injection or few doses by mouth.
Thinking few doses by mouth.
What is everybody else doing?

annlee3817 · 25/08/2022 04:10

Thanks @MummyRR

Had the Vitamin K shot last time for DD, it was all done in seconds and she didn't react much, she was more stroppy with the heel prick test at the five day check, but made sure I was feeding her at the time

Butterflytulip · 25/08/2022 05:11

@annlee3817 they gave you hooked up so will be closely monitoring you, shouldn't be long now, hang in there. Thinking of you 😊

@MummyRRyep took the vit k

Up again at 5 with my toddler!!! It's not every night thankfully!!

Did baby take the injection or doses by mouth?

MummyRR · 25/08/2022 05:36

So I think I'm nesting. Can't sleep so giving the kitchen a good scrub. Taking a break before I start mopping!

Butterflytulip · 25/08/2022 06:39

No idea @MummyRR !!! I just knew not to decline it for benefit to baby
