Baby girl born this morning at 9:40

Fortuny · 16/09/2022 16:31

@Flibbyjibby sorry to hear that, I'm literally in the same position now at the hospital for tests. Marginally high BP and a tiny amount of protein. No symptoms or issues otherwise. Still being threatened with an induction at 39w next week.

I know it's irrational but I'm really upset, I do not want an induction.

Flibbyjibby · 16/09/2022 16:46

@Fortuny

I was really upset yesterday but overnight I reasoned it all through, did some research into positive induction stories and gave my head a wobble. At the end of the day, baby’s safe arrival is priority.

I’m quite excited now! Though not excited at the prospect of having to possibly watch queens funeral whilst on postnatal ward!

Fortuny · 16/09/2022 19:16

@Flibbyjibby glad to hear that, it does make sense I know I'm being irrational, think it's just the surprise as no issues so far. Hoping it all goes well for you.

Northernerinwales · 16/09/2022 20:05

Sorry for being a bit MIA this past week. After being induced on Saturday my baby girl was born on Wednesday at 1350 weighing a lovely 7lb 1

Goodgoodthings · 16/09/2022 23:34

My baby girl was born this afternoon too via a lovely and relaxed csection after a lot of nerves in my side! 9lbs 8oz and completely adorable 🥰

Congratulations!!!

Flibbyjibby · 17/09/2022 05:50

Mental but I seem to have gone into spontaneous labour the night before I’m due to be induced! Just early labour at the moment. Contractions every 5-10 mins lasting 30-60 second each. Been 4 hours so far and gradually getting more intense but hypnobirthing is really helping me! Hopefully baby will be making an arrival today!

MummyToBe2022 · 17/09/2022 08:58

@Flibbyjibby how exciting. Good luck

awwbiscuits · 17/09/2022 10:38

annlee3817 · 17/09/2022 17:17

Exciting @Flibbyjibby hope all is going well

Northernerinwales · 17/09/2022 18:01

Has anyone had any issues with having the epidural removed? Once they took my epidural out in theatre they sprayed my back with something. Once I got home I realised I’ve got massive red patches all over and a large scab at the bottom of my back where skin has been pulled off

Flibbyjibby · 18/09/2022 05:13

Baby boy born 17.9.22!

After contractions tapered off (so I sent DH home), labour progressed so quickly he only made it back to the hospital 5 minutes before baby arrived!

Didn’t have time for any pain relief, baby out in about 5 pushes.

It has been such a pleasure following everybody’s stories over the last 9 months. Good luck to everyone!!

annlee3817 · 18/09/2022 07:51

Congratulations @Flibbyjibby lovely news

MummyToBe2022 · 18/09/2022 08:16

@Flibbyjibby congratulations ❤️

@Celyn22 aw congratulations💖

I am 40 + 3 and really fed up today. I really hoped for a vbac, but I booked in a planned c section a few weeks ago for 41 weeks, due to having had an emergency one with my first born & not wanting to be induced. I can't see the vbac happening now as the days go by & the planned section on Thursday is creeping closer and looking likely! I'm so nervous and just really wanting to go into labour naturally before then 😣

Butterflytulip · 19/09/2022 02:28

Congrats @Flibbyjibby lovely news.

@Goodgoodthings wow great weight!! Congrats

@Northernerinwales congrats to you too!!

@LittlemissMama67 congrats to you too!!

@MummyToBe2022 my back was in bits for first week and then all of a sudden it was fine. Think it was due to c section tho and can't remember if you have one too.

Take it easy everyone. Having a baba is exhausting. The feeding is exhausting!!
Won't be long for everyone else 🤞🤞

dkedm15 · 19/09/2022 03:49

Sorry for radio silence, soo many lovely posts on here! Congrats everyone on their babies, so exciting 🥰

We were due on 15th but I woke up thinking my waters had gone on a few days early. When we turned the light on there was quite a bit of blood, so we rang triage and they said I had to get an ambulance to hospital. Had a much bigger bleed (mixed with waters) when I got there and her CTGs/3 foetal scalp monitors were showing a very low heartbeat that kept falling off monitoring. Everything went super quick at this point but long story short despite being low risk the entire pregnancy we had to have an emergency category 1 c-section because we had a placental abruption (which we've not processed yet - midwives have said we're eligible for a debrief when we're ready). Amazingly our 9lb 1oz baby girl didn't need any resus and came out shouting (and hasn't really stopped since) 💜

We stayed 1 night in hospital before getting discharged (shared post natal wards are something else aren't they?! And why are they hotter than the pits of hell?!?!), and then on her community midwife check the morning after we had to be readmitted to hospital for a few nights because she had jaundice and needed phototherapy! It was a horrible few days.

We've finally got her home now and had a couple of really good nights followed by a very unsettled cry-ey night last night. Nowhere near as bad tonight but you can tell sort of how it is going by the fact I'm posting at 3:49am 🤣

Really hope everyone is doing okay - for those who have their babies you're absolutely smashing it, and for those still being kept waiting you're going to do brill 💜 xx

Congratulations @dkedm15 that must have been scary. Glad all was ok in the end, hope you manage to get some rest. X

Butterflytulip · 19/09/2022 04:27

@dkedm15 so glad everything worked out ok for you. That all sounds very scary. Hope you are enjoying it now as I'm sure the stress of it all took away from it being a happy occasion. Rest up and enjoy those baby snuggles

Butterflytulip · 19/09/2022 04:31

Anyone on here with baba breast feeding?
Iv been managing ok after not being able to BF my first baby.
I pump once a day both sides for 15 minutes and get around 100ml of milk. My partner uses this at night (9-12) to let me get a few hours sleep before the night feeds start!!
Last night my little one joined me at 1230 and didn't want fed until 330am!! So I did 1 BF between 7pm and 4am, my boobs are so bloody full and sore!!! Waiting for her to wake and feed again (prob won't be until 6/7am now!!!). I need to sleep through the discomfort 😩😩

annlee3817 · 19/09/2022 07:24

@Butterflytulip can you express a little off until she wakes? I had to do that in the earlier stages as was so engorged, it's calmed down now and when they feel full it eases off by itself if she doesn't want a feed.
