Yes I feel the same @MummyRR I just have no energy ATM. Napped twice the other day while toddler went to nursery and was still in bed at 830 as soon as they were down 🙈

madeleine85 · 12/09/2022 00:17

@HaresHoping congratulations ❤️❤️❤️

Flibbyjibby · 12/09/2022 07:47

Happy due date to me and any of my due date buddies!

Not sure what to do with myself today!!

Flibbyjibby · 12/09/2022 20:08

Aaanndd as predicted nothing today so I will officially be overdue :(

bouncing on my ball trying not to let the disappointment get to me - gotta fuel the oxytocin!!

How is everybody else holding up?

Goodgoodthings · 12/09/2022 20:15

@Flibbyjibby ah sending you some positive vibes! I remember feeling that way with my first, it was so frustrating to be waiting and dwelling on every little twinge wondering if something was happening. Hope it's not much longer for you - your baby will be here before you know it!

I'm booked in for an ELCS on Friday and my husband is working 3-11pm shifts this week which is proving interesting with my energetic 2 year old at home 🥴 feeling so excited in some moments and then really emotional/sad in others feeling guilty for leaving my little one for the surgery and generally worrying about how I will be there for them both. If anyone has any reassuring stories I'd love to read them.

gratefulmamatobe · 13/09/2022 11:45

Hey!!

I've been a bit quiet on here.. but I'm 40+4 today.... I'm going in for a scan today and hoping they offer me a sweep.

LOVING reading all of the happy stories on here xxxxxxxx

MummyToBe2022 · 13/09/2022 13:53

@gratefulmamatobe good luck with the scan and hope they offer you a sweep.

I'm 40+3 today. Had a sweep on my due date but nothing came of it. Got another booked for tomorrow but I'm not positive that will work either.

Think my baby is far too much comfortable in there.

Fingers crossed for you x

GlitteryGreen · 13/09/2022 18:06

Hey all, sympathies to all of us counting the hours 🙈

Due date was yesterday for me and I had a sweep. Think I have been losing the plug ever since, but nothing else to report so I don't think anything more is going to happen. Got another sweep booked for Thursday but I was so hoping it didn't come to that cos I really hated the first one 😭 Just can't see anything ever happening on its own!

Flibbyjibby · 13/09/2022 18:20

@GlitteryGreen hopefully the sweep will work! With my first I had a sweep and started losing my plug straight away then she arrived 3 days later.

Still nothing to report from me (due date yesterday too!). Had lower back pain all day but don’t know if it means anything and getting the odd braxton hicks. I won’t be able to have a sweep until Thursday as that’s my next midwife appointment but I’m not looking forward to it!!

Butterflytulip · 13/09/2022 20:24

Congratulations to all the new babies born. Hang in there to all those mamas still waiting!!
2 under 2 is another level of exhaustion, still trying to find our groove but loving every minute! Our little newborn is very relaxed, sleeps most of the time and is so chilled out!!

AlM93 · 14/09/2022 02:24

Finally part of the club after being pregnant for what felt like years!!! My DD Kenna was born by ELCS (breech) on the 8th sept. Recovery from the section is easier than I thought (so far!) was in hospital for 24hrs and doing 5 min walks up the road on day 2. Hang in there to the mamas still waiting x

Butterflytulip · 14/09/2022 07:43

@Goodgoodthings I was dreading the ELCS and coming home to a 2 year old! I stayed in 2 nights after having the baby and I'm glad I did as I needed that time for recovery. Like others have said the recovery after CS isn't too bad. I was up sitting in hospital after 24 hrs and by day 2 I was really comfortable. Yes it feels like your insides are jiggling about and slow walks are a must (first 2 weeks are the worst). I could hold my 2 year old, bath her and cuddle. I shouldn't have had any fears I wouldn't manage with my toddlers routine.

Goodgoodthings · 14/09/2022 07:47

@Butterflytulip thank you so much for sharing that I really needed it this morning! I think because last time around I had an emcs after a pretty scary labour my recovery was hard, so it's good to know that when it's planned it shouldn't be that way!

I hope you're doing really well and feeling good in yourself? How is your toddler around your newborn? Wishing you all the love!

Have woken up with double conjunctivitis this morning which is...amazing timing 😅🥴 got my pre op at 11 and genuinely worried about what they'll say as I look like I've been in a fight haha.

Butterflytulip · 14/09/2022 09:30

Oh no @Goodgoodthings I have so many friends and family that since kids went back to school they've all got some sickness!!!
Toddler is fine, she had baby dolls leading up to birth so we talked to her about feeding and changing nappies etc.
We made sure we weren't holding baby when brought her home, introduced then when baby was in car seat and then we both played with toddler and have her all the attention. I make sure I take her out after nursery for 30 mins walk or on bike just to give her 1:1. She is fine and happy and so far so good!!

Butterflytulip · 14/09/2022 09:31

Ps @Goodgoodthings hope the conjunctivitis clears up! Pre op exciting!! Makes it feel real now!!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 14/09/2022 11:21

Norovirus has hit our house hold bloody schools I worry so much for my little lady but been feeding her with gloves on xx

annlee3817 · 14/09/2022 13:31

@AlM93 congratulations, lovely name

@Sweetbabydust1989 oh no, hope it passed quickly

MummyToBe2022 · 14/09/2022 13:41

So had my second sweep today. Had no progress from my first 😩
Cervix is soft but still only 1cm and midwife couldn't stretch it any more.

Baby is very low though so she said once I'm in labour it shouldn't take long to get baby out.

Next sweep booked for Saturday morning and just waiting on phone call from the hospital with my induction date which won't be any later than next Thursday.

I've had enough now, constantly worrying and husband just doesn't understand and thinks I'm just being negative which I get but I just want my baby now.

Wish I wasn't so worried 😩

Mum2two2022 · 14/09/2022 14:23

My adorable Henry Threadingham has arrived 2 days early at 39 plus 5! This is my 2nd child.
I have had NO signs to say labour was enroute, no loss of waters or plug just increased discharge!
Then last night around 19:20 I started getting period cramps, uncomfortable but manageable at home rung triage as they started coming in every 2-3 mins. They said leave it till 9pm then call us. By this time they were every 1-2 mins and quite painful. When to triage at around 9:10/15 they asked me to wee where I had an upset stomach and bloody show.
They checked me over and I was 5cm and cervix very dilated no waters were gone at this point
They moved me to the labour room where I had gas and air, I requested the pool which they run for me however within mins I needed to push there and then thankfully as don’t think we would of made it to the room And within a new mins he was out! Born at 22:38
No stitches and weighing a lovely 8lb 4oz.
So happy got to stay in tho as he has suspected heart murmur which my first had so praying we can go home tomorrow miss my daughter so much! Never ever been away from her x

annlee3817 · 14/09/2022 15:01

Congratulations @Mum2two2022 hope you get home soon x

MummyRR · 14/09/2022 18:06

Congratulations ladies... can't wait till I'm in the baby announcement club. I am physically and emotionally drained out.
39+5, FTM. Had one bout of diarrhoea last night with some cramps but felt back to normal soon after.
Supposedly this is a sign of impending labour, can anyone else vouch for this?

Goodgoodthings · 14/09/2022 21:36

@Butterflytulip so happy to hear things are going so well with both your babies, it gives me hope! Tonight was the last bedtime with my toddler before I go to hospital (she's staying with family tomorrow night as I've got to be at hospital at 7am!) and she was so happy and relaxed, it made me feel great. I have hope! It will be hard but worth it.

@Sweetbabydust1989 sorry you're struggling with viruses too, such a bloody nightmare. With my first she was born in lockdown so i didn't really have to worry about her catching anything as we were cooped up, this is going to be a different story I can tell 🤦‍♀️ how are you feeling all in all?

Congratulations @Mum2two2022 ! Brilliant news, I hope you're doing well!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 14/09/2022 21:59

@Goodgoodthings I am ok now but last night I was violently unwell I was sick so much I was throwing up food I had 2 days ago.. I am hoping sienna has dodged it my middle child has and so did my partner.. the fever was the worst of it all I couldn't keep it down as I am throwing the pain killers up whole.. Just having some crackers and butter to see if that helps my stomach xx

Goodgoodthings · 14/09/2022 22:02

@Sweetbabydust1989 you poor thing, I think our immune systems are all over the shop right before/after having a baby too. That is not easy at all mentally or physically I bet. Hope you're getting lots of help and that your lovely little girl does manage to dodge it!

Butterflytulip · 15/09/2022 01:46

Congrats @Mum2two2022 wonderful news and hope your little one is ok 🤞😊
