@annlee3817 yeah it’s about 15 miles and neither of us drive. It’s about an hour and a half on public transport x

GlitteryGreen · 08/09/2022 09:57

Oh no, that's a pain @Northernerinwales , I can see why you're concerned then. Is there a hotel he could stay in closer?

CLC22 · 08/09/2022 15:37

My beautiful daughter was born 4th September at 8:16pm weighing 7lb 6. We have named her Ellilah 🥰

How is everyone doing?? I have horrible baby blues and I feel like my partner hates me it's been an awful couple of days I don't no what to do I feel like I can't do anything right he is very passive aggressive and snappy towards me I feel so lost it's like he doesn't want to be here at all.. I just want to curl up and cry.. I was really unwell yesterday had a horrible fever due to engorgement of my boobies so had to hand express them in the bath to get some relief. Just feel like a blubbering mess my legs and feet are still so swollen being checked for clots again this is suppose to be a happy time but feels like it's being ruined xx

madeleine85 · 08/09/2022 19:14

@CLC22 congratulations! I've never heard that name before, its a really good one :). Hope you're both relaxing and getting to know each other.

@Sweetbabydust1989 sorry you're feeling down. The exhaustion is a lot at the start, and there's a lot of pressure to feel an instant connection, that often takes a long time to build. Can you take a slow walk outside, since exercise helps endorphins which may help up your mood a little? Please be kind to yourself, it's a really difficult time with change, hormones etc.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 08/09/2022 19:38

@madeleine85 I kinda worry about PND I had it with my 2 other children I was quite young when I had them early 20s but I feel stronger now I am older more relaxed.. I haven't been out much at all yet only a walk up to the shops to send some parcels back I was thinking of going shopping tomorrow.. my midwife thinks it's just the baby blues.. I had a proper chat with my mum and I do feel better... she has demanded I get out of my lounge wear and out the house she even put some money in my account to treat myself and little one and booked me a massage hopefully that will sort me right out xx

annlee3817 · 08/09/2022 19:49

@Sweetbabydust1989 ah I was similar when my milk came in, I was so engorged that I couldn't get her to latch for 24 hours no matter what I did, and it was so sore. I cried to the midwife the next day, and she sorted me a loaned breast pump from the hospital and helped me with some different positions to get her to latch. Also a technique called reverse pressure which again helped her to latch despite being engorged. I felt absolutely awful and tired and hopeless, it did ease after a couple of days, worth contacting you're midwife though for supports.

Flibbyjibby · 08/09/2022 20:10

Is anybody else at the stage where you are starting to try those old wives tales to start labour?

I know it’s all nonsense yet I have still eaten a hot curry with some pineapple for pudding and just put the clary sage oil in the diffuser whilst I bounce on my ball 🙄

Desperate for this baby to arrive soon as I would love to avoid a sweep this time around…

MummyToBe2022 · 08/09/2022 20:13

I'm right there with you @Flibbyjibby due on Saturday and I know baby won't be making an appearance anytime soon.

I've got lots of pressure, thought things were happening last night as my stomach hurt and I was cramping and expected to wake in the night but nope, nothing came of it

gratefulmamatobe · 08/09/2022 20:51

My due date is TOMORROW!!!!! Eeeeeeekkkkk....... will she come bang on time, what do you think?!?!

Maybe tonight will be the night!!!

Flibbyjibby · 08/09/2022 20:52

@MummyToBe2022 It’s so disappointing isn’t it when you think it might be starting then nothing!

Plus the constant texts from people asking if anything’s happening yet! I know they mean well but it just makes me more annoyed that I don’t even feel anywhere near labour starting.

Sabiina · 08/09/2022 20:57

I know what you mean, I’m in hospital. Started induction on Tuesday and still no baby. Slow process this but yes. Walking up and down stairs, curb walking etc. time for her to arrive soon I reckon 🙈😂

Jamaisy82 · 09/09/2022 06:51

Had mine yesterday by elective c section at 39 weeks. What a surreal experience.
Good luck everyone it won't be long.

Northernerinwales · 09/09/2022 08:33

@Jamaisy82 congratulations ❤️

annlee3817 · 09/09/2022 09:10

@Jamaisy82 Congratulations!!!

@Sabiina hope things get going soon, my induction started on the Tuesday and was drawn out, feel your pain

Sabiina · 09/09/2022 09:57

@annlee3817 oh dear, yeah just been moved to labour ward to have my waters broken, hoping this will kickstart things 🤞🤞
how are you doing?

annlee3817 · 09/09/2022 10:02

Ah yey @Sabiina keeping everything crossed for you that it goes quickly

Sabiina · 09/09/2022 10:07

@annlee3817 thank you 🙏🏼🤞

Northernerinwales · 09/09/2022 12:39

Hi girls, just been for my sweep with my midwife and she said my cervix is at the back but soft and is 1cm dilated but can be stretched to 2cm and is favourable. I’m being induced tomorrow at 4pm. Is this good signs?

20viona · 09/09/2022 13:50

@Northernerinwales I had a sweep at 1.30pm on Sunday and I was 2cm (only 37weeks too), had my waters broken at 4.30pm and started the drip at 6.45pm, my daughter was born at 10.18pm with just an hour on the gas and air. Anything can happen!

Peauela · 09/09/2022 20:25

Hi all, I just have a question, a bit tmi but has to be asked as I don't know what to do! So there is a bit of a smell coming from down there, it's the weekend and I can't call my GP until Monday, thing is I can go into labour any day now at this stage and I'm worried it may be some sort of an infection which will affect the baby if untreated. Should I call the emergency tomorrow to ask them what to do or is that a bit over the top? I'm in Ireland and we don't have an assigned midwife here that I could call....

Butterflytulip · 10/09/2022 06:23

Hi @Peauela I'd ring your hospital emergency obstetrics just to enquire. They'll prob get you to drop a urine sample in. You might need antibiotics if there's an infection.
