Is anyone else really uncomfortable? My hip was hurting so much in bed last night I ended up sleeping on the sofa 😢
It’s only one side that hurts but it’s so painful no matter which side I sleep on

DayToNight · 26/06/2022 07:54

@Lianna93 @NamelessBaby1 I've heard that if it is the month of your child's birthday you can buy a build a bear for that price - i.e 2 year old £2.

DayToNight · 26/06/2022 07:55

@SamanthaVimes so much pain. For the past week I'll get painful Braxton Hicks from 3 am and have to get a hot water bottle and try to get back to sleep

missv556 · 26/06/2022 08:24

@Lianna93 glad to see a fellow pokémon nerd here 🤣 gonna paint some baby pokémon on baby's chest of drawers at some point

Omg I'm 37 weeks today! Full term finally. From the way Mr man was wriggling last night, he's ready to make an escape lol seriously felt like he was trying to burst out of my stomach

strawberrysummer19 · 26/06/2022 08:24

@SamanthaVimes yes me, so uncomfortable
I try and sleep the majority of the night on my left side as thinks that's the better side (read that somewhere) but have to roll over (which is a mission) to my right a fair few times as my left gets so achey and numb

I saw my osteopath yesterday who took out some tension in my neck
I used to see him a lot before pregnancy but didn't think I could see him pregnant but he did work on my neck saying that could actually help my pelvic area (which is so painful at times ) he was very helpful and suggested some things to do and not to do etc but did say it's just a being heavily pregnant and riding it out

Roll oh 3wks!! X

Lianna93 · 26/06/2022 09:13

@missv556 Haha it's that little part of me that's never grown up! 😂 My plan had been to paint all the pink Pokémon on her wall but I've not gotten round to it yet & I'm useless at drawing 😬😂
My friend was gonna make milestone cards with the baby Pokémon on them but they never got round to it, so ended up buying Peter Rabbit milestone cards instead (which I also absolutely love!) 😂

@DayToNight I've seen that - definitely something I'll do with the little one once she's old enough to experience it & remember it 😁

@SamanthaVimes yes I’ve been suffering with my hips too which sees me ending up on the sofa! Once I’m up and about they stop hurting but they are so sore during the night!

I had such a wriggly baby last night it was making me feel queasy..just felt like my stomach was doing flips. I’ll take the queasy-ness to enjoy her movements though 😅 And I finally know what people mean when they say there’s so much pressure it feels like the baby is going to fall out! I had so much pressure last night it was really uncomfortable!

NamelessBaby1 · 26/06/2022 10:45

@Coco9910 I'm with you on the queasyness, I haven't had the experience of seeing a full foot or hand or anything pressing out, but it feels like a sack of eels wiggling in my stomach at times and it really does make me feel ikky!! But that's just the way I'm feeling the movement so glad to know they are still happily wiggling around lol.

I've started to get a wee bit of pelvic pain / pressure at times too and now need to be careful when I'm standing up and sitting down so that my weight is equally distributed.

@Lianna93 you should just give it a shot anyway! Or check on Etsy to see if anywhere does like wall stickers that you could use ! I've had a lot of fun doing it, and even though it's by no means perfect I'm happy I've been able to do something myself for them. The Peter Rabbit cards sound good, I've done a wee Peter Rabbit cross stitch to go on the wall too with the baby name once we decide it lol, loads of cute themed stuff to be found there.

@missv556 I also reached 37 weeks the other day and it's so weird knowing we're at term now! I feel like it's just flown in!

kiwi17 · 26/06/2022 11:10

These are the stickers we bought from Etsy - bit pricey but I think they look cute! 😁

I'm also feeling nauseous every morning now- like morning sickness has come back 😟 sadly doesn't look like the sweep worked though!

Love that @kiwi17 ! Also is that like a cloud lightshade? Love the wee crab on the cot too lol, so cute!

annie1994 · 26/06/2022 11:48

Hello everyone, hope you’re all ok! Not too much longer for you all. I feel for you all as those last few weeks are HARD.

My little man is 4 days old now, we are doing pretty well with breast feeding but I am still doing some top ups with formula. He is slightly jaundiced so midwives keeping an eye on that. I’ve got another boy who is nearly 2 years old and it’s been hard balancing them both - literally dreading my partner going back to work but I guess we’ll see. He is so loving to his little brother and keeps kissing him but at same time we have had a few more tantrums.

I don’t want to jinx it but recovering from my c section has been a lot easier than I thought so far. I would say I’m in less pain now then when I had a vaginal birth for first child. But like I say i’ve probably just jinxed that!! The worst part about this recovery is I can’t pick up my toddler.

Does anyone have any advice on best nursing bras that don’t cost a fortune? I’m chubby so I need a shop that does bigger sizes 😂

@annie1994 ahhh he's absolutely gorgeous! Glad you're recovering well. When does your partner go back to work? I'm already dreading that and I only have a dog to content with, not another child! I'm sure you'll be fine though - do you have other support to help you out?

Not sure on nursing bras but I'm currently wearing one from Asda that was £7 and it's great for now (obvs haven't tried to feed in it yet!). I like it because it doesn't have a clip, it's more like a sports bra. I bought some from Amazon that are ok but I find the straps loosen too much while I'm wearing it. Sorry that's not much help 😅

Peters27 · 26/06/2022 12:42

@annie1994 he is just fabulous massive congrats!I got mine in m and s..I did an in person measurement last week at 37 weeks-they took into account milk coming in etc.

But they do offer a virtual consultation service I think on website which may help you with sizing -might be handy so you don't need to leave house and you can get a multpack 2 bras for 30 pounds which isn't bad at all!they also do lots of sizes I think!

Peters27 · 26/06/2022 12:47

@annie1994 also mutlpacks of 2 for 20 pound on m and s website!

SamanthaVimes · 26/06/2022 13:15

@Coco9910 @strawberrysummer19 @DayToNight hopefully these babies don’t keep us waiting too much longer and we can find a comfy sleeping position (even if we’re going to be woken up a lot by the baby!) I’m so looking forward to sleeping on my back!

kiwi17 · 26/06/2022 16:52

NamelessBaby1 · 26/06/2022 11:35

Yes I think we got it from Ikea! 😊

strawberrysummer19 · 26/06/2022 17:55

What is everyone packing in their bag for clothes for us mums? I'm covered with baby bits and toiletries etc and I have packed but for my clothes (having an induction so aware it could be a few days ) worried I may not have enough/right stuff - I currently have:

2x leggings
2x T-shirts
2x pj bottoms
2x pj tops
3 bralets (I sleep in them and wear them in the day instead of a bra)
Flip flops for bathroom
Going home outfit

Is this about right?
X

KizboBaggins · 26/06/2022 18:27

@strawberrysummer19 looks good to me! Trying to think what else you might need... what about big pants? And/or maternity pants? Maybe a light dressing gown? Although probably going to be far too hot for that! Maybe socks?

strawberrysummer19 · 26/06/2022 18:29

Oh yes forgot I say I have socks, knickers and disposable kickers! Just the clothing situation and amounts but think I'm ok
Thank you xx

ChinChilly · 26/06/2022 19:10

@NamelessBaby1 @kiwi17 nurseries looks lovely!

@annie1994 what a cutie!

@strawberrysummer19 sounds like you’ve got it covered!

Well the nesting has started, a quick kitchen clean turned into me pulling all the cupboards out and organising them.. had some impressive out of date herbs and spices 😂 but now I’ve got pretty intense period pains and lower back ache probs just overdone it abit

strawberrysummer19 · 26/06/2022 19:38

@ChinChilly I've had bad period type pains and lower back pain all day. Also some nice shooting pains down below! Had a bath and seems to be better, also some ball work which feels so comfortable x

GrowBabyGrow · 26/06/2022 19:39

@strawberrysummer19 the only thing I'd add is possibly like a really big t shirt or t shirt dress? Obviously depends on what you are comfortable in and how you feel about any cervix checks but if you're in a big t shirt it might feel more comfortable than having to take off your leggings for them.

KizboBaggins · 26/06/2022 19:58

@GrowBabyGrow I've been thinking about getting a long tshirt dress thing but can't find one I like. I'm 5"9 so finding one long enough is difficult. Plus finding one that doesn't make me look like my nan lol. The ones from boohoo/shein seem to be too short... husbands T-shirts aren't long enough... any recommendations would be appreciated!

beetree1 · 26/06/2022 20:04

@strawberrysummer19 I packed a bag for in the car with extra toiletries and clothes for me last time which was a god send as I didn’t realise how much I was going to bleed the first time and I had an epidural and kept bleeding through my clothes. I live far away from the hospital though so might be easier for your partner to nip home for you x
