Congratulations @NotAsOldAsIFeel !!
how are you feeling?

NotAsOldAsIFeel · 25/06/2022 04:44

@HotToddyColdSauvignon Pretty tired, I've had a grand total of 15 minutes sleep so far tonight. I had some stitches and they actually feel ok thankfully (so far), it's just a bit of muscle ache from the strange positions I was apparently contorting myself into haha. I managed it all on just gas and air though, which I absolutely do not recommend but the anaesthetist was too busy to give me an epidural in time and the midwife "knew I could do it without" the pethedine I asked for 🙄. I really can't complain though as it meant I got to be "with it" when he finally arrived and not a dribbling loon.

I hope everyone is managing to stay calm enough though. I found my whole induction process really positive if it helps x

NamelessBaby1 · 25/06/2022 06:06

@NotAsOldAsIFeel congrats on the safe arrival, another wee cutie! All the boys so far lol.
Ooft your midwife sounds tough, lol, but glad you managed on just the gas and air without it being too traumatic or anything! Shame you didn't get the epidural like you'd asked though! And definitely helpful you found the induction process ok!

SamanthaVimes · 25/06/2022 06:07

@NotAsOldAsIFeel congratulations!
Hope you get some more rest soon ❤

Mattieandmummy · 25/06/2022 06:14

@NotAsOldAsIFeel congratulations!!!!

I wonder how many July babies will be born before we even get to July!

ShellUK09 · 25/06/2022 06:53

@NotAsOldAsIFeel wow congratulations 🎉💕 glad everything went well! It must be a huge relief and hope you can get some sleep soon. Good to know the induction was a positive experience too! Got that to come on Monday.

I managed to sleep quite well back in my own bed and feeling more myself, I don't miss the hospital bed. I have to take it very easy so just resting this weekend which is hard when there is so much to do. My partner has been doing everything and my parents are helping out a lot too, they will help with a big shop today as my partner doesn't drive. I had wanted to do loads before the birth like a hair cut etc but it's all been taken out of my hands now it is happening from Monday. I know @Mattieandmummy seems like quite a few 'July' babies will be June ones!

strawberrysummer19 · 25/06/2022 07:26

@NotAsOldAsIFeel congratulations! Glad to hear your induction was a positive one as it seems a fair few are having them. Mine is in 3 wks but as @ShellUK09 has proved, anything can change.

That was my issue last time - being too far gone not to have any pain relief! I had none last time
And this time I definitely want an epidural!

Well done you for only having gas and air ! What a trooper!!

Xx

ShellUK09 · 25/06/2022 07:30

@CaptainCarp ah wow we are going in on the same day! I'm not going in until the evening so hoping it will be cooler then. We are going to take a fan in anyway as the hospital room I had been in this week was so stuffy and the hospital had no fans! Really got to get the hospital bag finished today, it's been almost finished for weeks but just got to do final checks as now this is it. Just so thankful they let me leave hospital before Monday so I could get a chance to get these things sorted otherwise I would have been struggling!

Lianna93 · 25/06/2022 07:37

Congratulations @TheseAreMyGoodPants & @NotAsOldAsIFeel !! 🥰

Not gonna lie - feeling pretty jealous of everyone having their babies or welcoming their babies very soon! 🙈😂

Went to ikea yesterday & finally got furniture for baby's room so that's a task for DH today 😁 Room still needs decorated but not in a huge rush to do that - just wanted her furniture in & built so it's less clutter around the house 😂

Still need to pack a bag for DH for the hospital but not entirely sure what he needs... I'm sorted & baby is sorted though 😂

@KizboBaggins I know probably a bit mad but my work isn't physically hard & I wanted as much time after baby on maternity as possible! Pretty much managed to "get ready" (who's ever ready 😂) for baby a few weeks ago when the car broke down & so I had some days off.

@NotAsOldAsIFeel congratulations on baby Samuel! Hope you can get a bit of sleep now.

I reckon we are going to have a few early arrivals!

@ShellUK09 I'm dreading how hot the hospital is going to be! I've got to ring up Monday for a time so I'm hoping its going to be evening but we'll have to see.
I should probably pack a book or something...

strawberrysummer19 · 25/06/2022 07:50

I have to call at 7am in the hope to go straight in - my hospital do a pessary for 24 hrs so I don't mind so much as I'm guessing things may not be started straight away. Then they do the 2x pessary/gels after 6hrs then the drip

I have 2 days left of work - Monday and Tuesday but I'm actually more than ready now
Think because I'm so bloody uncomfortable! Then hopefully I can finish the little bits and piece later over the next 3 wks unless she decides to come early!
I'm actually ok with either! Ideally would like to get to my induction date - think it would be a lot calmer and I can enjoy my last eve as a family of 3 and my daughter is all sorted as my fiancé takes his paternity leave from induction day but we shall see!

So nice to see all the baby updates and people getting closer xx

beetree1 · 25/06/2022 07:51

@NotAsOldAsIFeel congratulations on the safe arrival of baby Samuel he’s adorable!

Coco9910 · 25/06/2022 08:00

@NotAsOldAsIFeel congratulations!! 💙 Glad your induction was a positive experience and well done for managing on gas and air! Can’t believe your midwife said that but you must have been doing a fantastic job!

ChinChilly · 25/06/2022 10:18

congratulations @NotAsOldAsIFeel and well done!! Can’t believe all the boys are coming first!

I feel like I’ve been hit by a lorry 🥴 I’m running on about 4 hours sleep been up since god knows what time with the dog who’s got kennel cough again FFS 🤦‍♀️ Forgot to take my anti acid yesterday so I had a chest of burning hell fire all night and still have. Plus I’m meant to be going out for lunch today and I really cba…sorry for the rant terrible mood today 🤨

@ChinChilly hope you're feeling a bit better now! I think if there's any time you're allowed to cancel lunch plans it's when you're pregnant and had hardly any sleep!

@NotAsOldAsIFeel congratulations he is absolutely gorgeous! Love his name!

I still haven't packed my hospital bag... I'm 36 weeks on Monday. I am normally very organised but I wonder if part of me feels packing the bag makes it far too real!

In other news, can confirm madjool dates with peanut butter are absolutely delicious. I have no issues with eating these every day 🤤

NamelessBaby1 · 25/06/2022 21:07

@KizboBaggins hah, I've got my hospital bag and notes etc in the car while we're away for a few nights just in case, and yeah the act of zipping it all up and taking it out the house really made it feel very real! Although tbh I do keep forgetting I'm pregnant and then wondering why I can't squeeze past things and people haha.

@Lianna93 what furniture did you go for? I got mine from IKEA too. I'm also half wayish through painting the mural on the baby room - it's not perfect but I'm pleased with it so far, will keep working on it next week!

ShellUK09 · 25/06/2022 21:10

@KizboBaggins I've speed packed the rest of my hospital bag today, as going in on Monday now, which was very unexpected. I would recommend everyone does theirs as soon as they can, just in case!

Lianna93 · 25/06/2022 21:17

@NamelessBaby1 I got the Godishus stuff (wardrobe & drawers) Was looking at the Smastad stuff but it was way more expensive & very confusing to figure out 😂😂
Also got a Kallax unit then going back for a Kullen chest of drawers and then just need to find a chair I can use for nursing & that'll be baby's room finished 😁

What are you painting? 🥰 I've got a space above her cot that I want to do something with but I'm not even slightly artistic so may enlist the help of my friend who is very artsy 😁

NamelessBaby1 · 25/06/2022 22:27

@Lianna93 ah that's cool, I'd looked at the Godishus ones as they looked cool, but went for the normal (not kids range) Hauga drawers in the end as I reckoned it would double up nicely as a changing table. I have a wee chair that I'm in the process of reupholstering too (well, my mum is lol), it's nice being able to do stuff like that!
I'm into Lord of the Rings so I decided on a hobbit hole mural, lol. I haven't painted anything in years so totally out of my depth but been having a lot of fun doing it! Not sure if the image upload works but I'll give it a shot anyway for the work in progress.

@NamelessBaby1 Amazing! We're going for a Pokémon theme in ours - I've got all the buildabears so thought they could go in the nursery 😂😂

OP posts:
NamelessBaby1 · 25/06/2022 23:25

Ah that's brilliant! I'm definitely planning on getting the hobbit buildabear, just need to work out how to get it without my husband seeing how much it costs 😂

Lianna93 · 25/06/2022 23:31

@NamelessBaby1 Once you start collecting them, it becomes an expensive habit 🙈😂 Dread to think how much I've spent on the Pokémon BABs over the past few years 😬😂

OP posts:
KizboBaggins · 26/06/2022 07:40

@NamelessBaby1 I love that 😍

SamanthaVimes · 26/06/2022 07:42

@NamelessBaby1 that looks great
