Thread 5 is about to fill up, here's another one!
Wonder how many more babies we'll meet before we get to July 🥰

@CaptainCarp ahh its so hard to tell! I really dont feel much at all in the front at the mment, just baby movements. They did say inhad 3 tighteningswhile being monitored today so I think thats what has got me excited! Just more watching and waiting I guess!!

ChinChilly · 29/07/2022 20:02

@Fizzybubblegumbottles spoke to soon, 6:30 fed came up! Not all of it though probs looked worse than it is. I’ve been trying to potter round in between feeds to stay on top of things but it is hard to get the motivation to do it.

@CaptainCarp glad it’s not just me, guess this the start of the rest of our lives of worrying about them!

@JJ1992 my labour was all in my back! I didn’t really get much in the front at all. Back labour is meant to be more painful so if the pain gets too much go to the hospital for the good stuff! I waited to late and was in absolute agony by the time I got there

Lianna93 · 30/07/2022 06:23

Congratulations @Confusion101 sounds like you had a very positive experience 🥰

@JJ1992 My labour was all in my back because my baby was back to back - I'd suggest get yourself moving & bouncing on your ball if you have one to make sure baby is in the position for birth. Back to back absolutely sucked & ended up baby got stuck & she was exhausted (as was I) so we needed the doctor to come in & deliver baby via kiwi.

@Danani Hope your induction goes well! Wishing you a safe & speedy birth 🥰

@JJ1992 I didn't have any pain at the front at all, it was all well down in the pelvic/ rear area! Hopefully you've successfully gone into full labour and soon have a wee baby to update us about!

I meant to ask everyone, I ended up with forceps and for that they took me into surgery to do - does that happen for everyone or are some just done in the labour ward? I didn't actually think to ask why it was done that way until I was watching One Born Every Minute lol. Not that I have any problems with it, just curious!

SamanthaVimes · 30/07/2022 12:03

@NamelessBaby1 I was taken into theatre for the forceps trial but they knew if it didn’t work it would be straight to c section (which is what happened) so that probably impacted their decision

NamelessBaby1 · 30/07/2022 12:31

Ah, that might be why that did it with us too, didn't think about that! Thanks :)

JJ1992 · 30/07/2022 17:02

Thanks ladies. After a very long night of what felt like contractions in my back (6 minutes appart lastong 30-40 secs) I fell asleep at 6am and today theyre so infrequent. Maybe only had it a handful of times. I know the advice is to keep active at this point but Im just in preservation mode and cant be bothered doing anything! My fluid is low and they wanted to bring my induction forward but havent.. becauase of waiting lists. So im just here in limbo obsessing over fetal movements hoping things happen. Ive never been good at feeling my movements regularly due to anterior placenta which is an extra stress! Mentally reached the done stage I think. hoping my midwife can tell me there's been some progression tomorrow!
Feel like im heading for a complicated delivery and waiting about worrying about it is no good!

Just want baby in our arms 🥰

KizboBaggins · 30/07/2022 17:13

@JJ1992 oh bless you, it's so frustrating isn't it. Fingers crossed things get going for you tomorrow. Little one will be here before you know it!

annie1994 · 31/07/2022 11:31

@Lianna93 can I just ask what does kiwi delivery mean? I don’t know if I’m being stupid but never heard of it 😂

Lianna93 · 31/07/2022 11:56

@annie1994 A kiwi delivery is the same as ventouse but rather than it being attached to a machine, it's handheld & smaller. I think kiwi might be the brand name for the device - I'm not sure.

Is anybody else struggling with their appetite..I literally have none and at all and sometimes feel soo nauseous. I really struggled with sickness for the first 20 weeks of pregnancy so I’m guessing it’s just some weird hormonal thing settling down but I’m having to force myself to eat at the moment

Lianna93 · 31/07/2022 19:28

@ChinChilly I'm the same. I'm having to eat little & often but I was put on Iron tablets & the dosage was making me feel super sick so my doctor let me reduce my dose - which has helped a lot.

OP posts:
strawberrysummer19 · 31/07/2022 19:40

@ChinChilly yes me! I've lost a fair bit of weight pretty quick
So I put on 2stone 8 and I've lost 2 stone in 11 days
Is this about right?
Every day is falling off - not complaining but I've also lost my appetite it's really strange as pre pregnancy I was snacking like no tomorrow !

I have super low iron levels due to the bloods loss and hence the blood transfusions still feeling pretty weak and yuck so thought that had something to do with jt

Been feeling pretty low mood also so maybe that's contributed
Just mainly because I feel knocked for 6 and wanted to enjoy this part not feel so dreadful!

But my midwife team has been great and have given me regular bloods and levels have risen so not too far off what they should be now

Just feel so exhausted 11 days in

X

NamelessBaby1 · 31/07/2022 20:39

@ChinChilly mine is absolutely fine - every time I eat it's like the best food I've ever had, haha. However my midwife did ask about appetite at a follow up appointment so I guess it's a fairly common thing!

KizboBaggins · 31/07/2022 20:53

@NamelessBaby1 I'm the same - food tastes unbelievable right now! I'm constantly hungry too. Probably cause the baby has been latched to my boob ALL DAY 😴

ShellUK09 · 31/07/2022 21:08

I'm loving food again now, the only problem is finding the right moments to eat! It feels like every time we cook anything by the time it is ready there's a nappy change, cuddle, or feed needed asap! No matter how much we try to plan the timings, our baby becomes awake in the evenings/night, for some reason I wasn't prepared for how tiring this would be! 🥱

ChinChilly · 31/07/2022 21:13

@Lianna93 @strawberrysummer19 @NamelessBaby1 Thanks ladies, I’ll mention it to my midwife when I see her and see what she says

@strawberrysummer19 I haven’t weighed myself but I do feel like the weight is falling off me too i put about 2 stone on. I think my mood is ok, I’ve been abit teary at times but I think that is a normal hormonal come down. Also 11 days in here obvs including the days she was in ICU we’ve been home 6 days. I cannot imagine if OH only had 2 weeks off and was going back to work in a few days.. I guess I’d just adjust

Lianna93 · 31/07/2022 21:13

This thread is about to come to an end - are we keeping the thread going in the pregnancy section or will we need to move to another section?
I know there's still a few of us left to have our babies - so don't know if we just create thread 7 in the meantime? 🤔
Don't wanna lose the thread - it's been so lovely having you all to chat to 💖

ChinChilly · 31/07/2022 21:15

@ShellUK09 that seems to be happening here aswell..may be a while before we get to eat a meal together 😂

ShellUK09 · 31/07/2022 21:30

@Lianna93 thread 7 sounds like a good idea 🙂 especially as some are still waiting to give birth. Would love to keep the threads going as really enjoyed them and they have kept me sane throughout this surreal time, it feels like we have all gone through a lot together and enjoying hearing how everyone is getting on.

@ChinChilly yes we eat separately a lot now too!

ChinChilly · 31/07/2022 21:35

@Lianna93 another thread would be fab! I agree with @ShellUK09 they’ve kept me sane and have been reassuring!

Hi all, I've been a bit absent from here as we welcomed our baby boy James 2 weeks ago! Scheduled C-section & he spent his first few nights on earth in the NICU as he had fluid in his lungs (we found out later this is common with C-sections)

We are completely smitten with him & he's (mostly) a good boy! Only gets really upset when we don't feed him quickly enough lol.
