@Franklydear squishes solve most things. Not sleeping though, ask @bez91 (if you dare!) we've also had a bad night so far with B going down lovey then one sleep cycle later full on awake, until 10pm. Ffs. DH & I both think reflux, I've been covered in sick A LOT today & she's really unsettled so I'm joining the crew to take her to docs

beachbumwannabe · 15/06/2022 07:47

Yeah I've struggled with buying not too many clothes for holiday @paintfairy but enough so I don't have to wear sweaty clothes! Exciting getting all the baby clothes washed!

Good work on carpets @kaylsd - stuff like that is always best when you're not at home! Need to dig out my electric shaver today ahead of wax tomorrow to prep!

Love the ring @Minster2012 - DH couldn't be persuaded on a push present of any sort, particularly not an eternity ring, i reckon he'll make me wait until 10 years (married that is, we've already been together bloody forever) or my 40th so another 4/5 years. Shame for him really as my tastes are deffo getting more expensive as I get older!

@Franklydear more hugs your way. The problem with the shit stuff in life is the only way to deal with it is to keep going through it day by day. Sounds like your boy is handling it so well.

I find my awkward baby jumps around a lot when I drink cold stuff so that might also be an option @InkyPaper

I'm way behind on LI too @bez91 because it's something DH and I watch together but are rarely in together at the moment. We still use the monitor for DS (more DH than me) but I'm not buying a second one so that will force us to stop spying on him!

DS been getting up very early so sort of sleep training here @bez91 - I told him he could have a chocolate button if he stayed in bed until the gro clock went orange - which he did. Shame he was shouting 'carry me' from 6.20! Hope you can break DD soon!

Poor sicky B @Minster2012 - good plan taking her to the dr.

Random question from me. DS' name begins with an A, would it be weird to name no 2 with a name beginning with a B? There's both boy and girl names I like beginning with B's but not sure if it looks silly!

Minster2012 · 15/06/2022 08:25

Is that you @larrythelizard?? @beachbumwannabe?? Too much for a sleep depraved brain to cope with?!

larrythelizard · 15/06/2022 08:27

Haha yes that was me @Minster2012 - anything else i post I use a different name...doh!

OP posts:
Franklydear · 15/06/2022 08:48

@beachbumwannabe it's not weird, it's sweet, you are right, and I know that's what bestie would want, I nearly skip the pool yesterday and I could hear her saying you are not stopping stuff that's good for you on my account, so I went. With all the world has thrown at him the last 2years, at his young age he's quite resilient, much better than I was at his age, hopefully karma will reward him with that sibling he want. I though this newbie reads familiar 😂

Right, back on the real world, we've cried a lot, we remember her, now crown 👑 straighten, and off we go

Minster2012 · 15/06/2022 09:00

Ahhhhh we know your secret name now @larrythelizard 😂on the name front, I wouldnt bat an eyelid at an "A" name and a "B" name. I said any present wasn't needed but who am I to complain! I had only heard of the 10 year eternity ring thing like you. Your DH watches LI I'm jealous, we got to watch nothing last night cos of B waking up from 8.15 til 10, I took the opportunity for a lukewarm shower when I tapped out at 8.40 & I went back in at 9.40

@Franklydear it sounds like you & DS are doing amazing 😻how's DH?

@Somatronic how's things? You feeling any better?

Just phoned GP with a barrage of questions, B reflux, X patches& bumps from eczema that hasn't cleared with cream they gave us & me post natal check stitch issue & B checks & vaccines. They'll hate me I'm sure

Hope everyone is ok in the sunshine it's a scorcher

feliznavidad2 · 15/06/2022 10:18

Ahh hope you get some answers @Minster2012 bless you and your merry band.

Thinking of you @Franklydear - know you're back to 'real worlding' but be gentle with yourself.

@larrythelizard I don't think an A name and then a B would be weird at all, wouldn't even think of it as being 'a thing'. Good luck with opticians today.
🤓

Sorry you're having sleep probs @bez91 - DS has already started being a bit of a nightmare with waking up at 5am and baby isn't even here yet.

Ooft @kaylsd re. Perineal massage; I didn't do any and aren't doing any again this time, maybe it would have helped but got enough probs without adding some oil to the vajayjay situation.

@paintfairy I hear you re. Buying clothes, having said that, I've just bought a few 'wafty' maxi dresses that I can BF in as well as wander around in at the moment now it's getting hotter. Enjoy the baby clothes washing and drying - really makes it feel real, doesn't it? 🥹

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday, OC bloods have gone up a bit (not massively at all) and hospital midwife rang to say that registrar at the hospital recommends imminent induction. 😬 So I had a bit of a weep, rang the Consultant's Secretary who I've been seeing and said what had happened. Consultant rang me back within two hours and was lovely, wait to increase meds dose but not to panic and to ignore doctor, she apologised for any undue concern and said aslong as things don't dramatically change, can stick with plan for induction in two weeks ish. Had a stretch and sweep whilst at the hospital as figured may as well use the visit to my benefit - wasn't bad at all. 😅

Quiet day today; might try and see what LI is all about... 👀

feliznavidad2 · 15/06/2022 10:18

wants to increase meds dose, not wait*

Franklydear · 15/06/2022 11:50

@Minster2012 very stiff upper lip, but he is making sure we don't fall too low, he can relax a little now and maybe show some emotion

Somatronic · 15/06/2022 12:13

@Minster2012 thanks for checking in and thanks to those who welcomed me. Sorry I haven't posted since my first post. I've been following a bit but I'm only 11 weeks tomorrow so I hardly even acknowledge that I'm allegedly pregnant other than feeling exhausted and crampy so I feel like an imposter still.

I took last week as annual leave and the doctor signed me off sick this week. He said I'm burnt out and need to take some time off work. So I have 4 more hard working weeks ahead and then it should ease off until September so I'll take some annual leave then.

Hope everyone is doing OK. Congratulations on the new arrivals xx

larrythelizard · 15/06/2022 12:17

Sounds like bestie is an incredible bestie even though she's walking a different path @Franklydear - well done for still swimming.

Meh, who cares @Minster2012 - B can't speak so she's got her tiger mummy to advocate for her for now.

Eek @feliznavidad2 sounds like you've got a good consultant. Hope the meds work quickly.

Is it also a 12 week scan in Ireland @Somatronic? I'm still slightly in denial even now at nearly 31 weeks 😬😬😬

Thanks @Minster2012 @feliznavidad2 i will keep the B names on my list; they're probably both choice no 2 but not sure DH will go for either of my first choices so considering my negotiation tactics for a couple of weeks time!

Round ligament still giving me a load of gip, it's quite annoying. Will mention it at yoga tonight and see if the yoga lady has a magic fix for me!

OP posts:
Somatronic · 15/06/2022 12:25

@larrythelizard haha hard to deny it at 31 weeks in fairness! Hope that the yoga instructor can sort out that pain for you.

Yes so I have my booking appointment on Monday and my 12 week scan next Thursday. Probably after that and when I tell my friends it'll be more real.

paintfairy · 15/06/2022 12:52

@kaylsd to be fair I was drunk the first time (so drunk I wasn't sure if it had happened or not the next day 🤣) and probably also a good few times after that. Lube is essential.
I haven't tried perianal massage either. I'm not sure it really works- what does work is pushing very slowly.
@Minster2012 not sure why they all smell so rubbish? Which one do you use? Whatever my shnuggle 2nd hand stuff was washed in smelled nice. I might message and ask. 🤣 A push present? Never heard of that but I'm going to certainly mention it to DH!
@Inkypaper cold drinks probably work fine too. I get a reaction now from just cold water.
@bez91 oh dear. Who needs sleep anyway?! 🙈
@larrythelizard your name change confused me. Thought we had an imposter. 🤣 I don't think a B name anyone would actually even acknowledge? They might if you used A again, but otherwise I don't think it's weird at all.
@feliznavidad2 I thought putting oil down there might not really be ideal?
I've looked for normal dresses I can maybe fit in, but without trying them on then I'll not really know. And I hate shopping and usually order online! What kind did you buy?
And don't you just love mixed messages making you panic?! I've had that too and people all seem to have different opinions!
@Somatronic I felt like that here to start with too. In fact I still felt like an imposter at 20ish weeks going into a baby shop. 🤣 Its just strange to get your head around. Definitely take time out for yourself. Its a lot to deal with. I feel pregnant now but I'm 34 weeks, so that's ridiculous. I'm sure it counts all the way through. 🤣
@Franklydear I don't think there's anything wrong with crying or being sad as much as you want. For some reason we all feel that you should cry once and move on, and it doesn't work like that. I was still randomly crying about my dog like 2 months later, never mind anything else! And with my dad it was ages. Neither is it wrong to take time out if you don't feel like doing something.

God, I'm so hot. Abnormally. Pleased it looks cooler from the weekend as sleeping is horrific without heat. Friday looks appalling. We are also out for a meal which will be fun. I never have an appetite when I'm hot and being pregnant I don't either. 🙄 Several loads of baby washing done, also hung some out on the airer. I've got a right strange mix of stuff though in the first 2 sizes. 🤣 Oh well.

larrythelizard · 15/06/2022 17:02

Oh won't be another A @paintfairy - DH, his dad and his brother all have the same initial which he found annoying growing up so won't be an A, or the same as DH or me.

The first trimester drags and drags @Somatronic - definitely doesn't feel real. Second trimester is much better (honest!) - I had much fewer migraines then too.

Optician has said I could do with a bit of help with my vision for short range (is that the right term?) so have chosen some glasses and they'll be ready next week. Apparently they're not meant to prescribe glasses to ladies in their third trimester as it can make your eyes go screwy/be a symptom of pre-eclampsia but thankfully agreed I should have some. So hope that will deal with the majority of my headaches!

OP posts:
InkyPaper · 15/06/2022 17:37

@Somatronic I'm nearly 21 weeks and I still feel like I'm lying to people! So you're definitely not alone in how you feel

@larrythelizard I wouldn't think anything of someone having one kid with an A name and one with a B name

@Minster2012 did the GP answer all your questions? As long as they got you all sorted that's the main thing!

@feliznavidad2 oh blimey that sounds like a lot! Glad your consultant is on it

@paintfairy Friday looks like HELL, I also can't cope with the heat 😂 don't think the cats will like it either, might put a couple of towels in the freezer to help them cool down

Soph0105 · 15/06/2022 18:07

Lol at you lot fussing about the heatwave, up here we're expecting the heady heights of 22 degrees on Friday 😂😂😂 that's life up north for you!

Ooooh @larrythelizard you secret catfish you 🤨

Minster2012 · 15/06/2022 20:46

You can talk about cat fishing @Soph0105 or should we call you KATE??? 😝 I legit can complain about the sun, I have to try hide, cos I'm a leopard from my immunotherapy 🐆 so I play dodge the sun...it was a lovely cloudy time here at around nap time I thought I could do gardening, got my equipment out & course who wakes up. 🤦🏼‍♀️

@InkyPaper my c section stitch going to get looked at when B has her vaccinations & they've said X's eczema bits will go away & not heard on the reflux for B yet so nearly there!

Not meant to have glasses in the third trimester @larrythelizard?! God there's so much we can can't do 😂hopefully it will help though, and yoga for the hip

@feliznavidad2 pleased that you spoke to someone else & they reassured you, and here's hoping the bloods stay the same

@Somatronic I think most of us were in denial for a long time, especially if you don't have many "usual" symptoms. I'm pleased you've been signed off to get some rest though & you make sure you do. Tbh when I told ppl I felt like I was lying and it was weird when they seemed more excited than I was as I was just shit scared 😳

Pushing it really slowly @paintfairy?? Are you talking about the anal to tell @kaylsd how best to do it or the massage?? I use Surcare powder. Cheap & cheerful but not got nasties in it and was recommended by an eczema website

We are also out on Friday night. First time proper leaving her for a bit. Only a do in the next village but my parents on bedtime duty which I'm not even sure I can explain what to do as I've not worked it out yet 😬

DKDK123 · 15/06/2022 23:27

@larrythelizard I'm a fan of wonder weeks too, it was a sanity saver with DS. Of course he didn't always follow the pattern it was sometimes a week out either side, but I just felt at times when he wouldn't settle it gave me hope that it wasn't going to last forever as I could just tell myself it was a leap. I've already got it downloaded waiting to ride the storm with DD.....11days till leap 1 apparently 🙈

@paintfairy don't worry about thinking you have too many baby clothes, it just means you don't need to put your washing machine on as often before you run out! Plus between spew and nappy leakage you can easily get through 3 or 4 outfits a day some days.

@bez91 hooray for Z now being official 🥳 Not such good news on DDs sleep going backwards tho, hope the phase passes quickly!
It was the Joie DLX travel system, I was really surprised at how light it was to push as I had the mothercare orb and a gracco one for DS and they both seemed really heavy in comparison. Plus the handle can lower enough for DS to push the pram so he's enjoying the novelty of pushing the pram at the moment.

DKDK123 · 15/06/2022 23:39

@feliznavidad2 that must have given you a bit of a fright yesterday. Glad they've clarified there's no need to panic just yet hopefully the meds work.

@Somatronic we've all felt like an imposter at some point don't worry. I think it took until I could feel baby kicking for me to get my head properly around the fact I was indeed pregnant and it was there to stay.

@Minster2012 have you still got a stitch from your csection that hasn't dissolved? I've got one too that's annoying me, I was going to wait till my 6week check up to get the doc to look at it/pull it out if they can so let me know what they say about yours. I've also got a 1cm gap that still hasn't closed over yet, it doesn't seem to be infected and the midwife didn't seem concerned about it it's just annoying that it's still open as I wanted to go in the pool with DS when we're away this weekend but cant with still having an open wound now.

I'll probably be quiet on here till next week as we're braving a family trip for a few days, just a Haven holiday to let DS burn off some energy, but forgot just how much crap you need to pack going anywhere with a baby, had to buy a roofbox for the car so we can fit everything in, usually we can jsut chuck all our stuff in the boot but I forgot the pram would be taking up most of the space there, plus the travel cot 🙄

bez91 · 16/06/2022 05:22

@larrythelizard didn't know that about glasses and the third trimester! Hopefully all these issues go when little one of here!

@DKDK123 I just find it weird that you go by DD on Wonder Weeks as surely an assumption made at a 12 scan isn't by at accurate. Handy on the buggy adjusting, DD likes to push but nightmare as she can't see over the top. Enjoy your little break, mind blowing on the amount of stuff you need to take hence why we're staying at home 😬

Feeding time at the zoo here, Z likes to be awake from 4-6am for no apparent reason, with DD waking at 5am up until the age of 4 - I'm a bit worried! Think I need a GroBlind got our bedroom, why are they so damn expensive though 🤯

Minster2012 · 16/06/2022 08:10

Does wonder weeks not go by adjusted/corrected then @bez91? Like I say I've never looked. We have a similar awake time too though last night it was from around 4.50-xander came in at 6.49 asking the usual first question "where's daddy?" Then meltdown as he saw him drive off so instead of B then going back to sleep we were all up 🤦🏼‍♀️. Do you mean the GroBlinds that sucker up or perm ones?

@DKDK123 yes I've got a big stitch & knot hanging out of my scar which again isn't worrying but I want it out. Our area the post natal check is only a phone call though so I've had to push to be seen at the same time as B's vaccs. A gap doesn't sound good though?! Have a lovely trip

bez91 · 16/06/2022 10:03

@Minster2012 it asks you to put in due date but I can't work out how that'd work. Oh no, just before 7am isn't too bad but not ideal on the meltdown. Yes they're the ones or you can Velcro to the window frame I think I remember last time. We'd need 2 though as window just over 2m wide and I'm sure they only come 2m wide 🤦🏼‍♀️
On the 'knot' my best friend had a section at the height of covid. She said they'd usually just cut it off but wouldn't see her because of covid so she did it herself (she is kinda a nurse) but it's not anything to worry about I think they're just too big to dissolve by themselves.

Day out today local in the countryside. Taking my dad with us. Our car has 2 pop up seats in the boot, never used them but my postpartum arse is far to huge to fit between the 2 kids seats in the back with isofix’s so here I am in the boot 🐽

Minster2012 · 16/06/2022 10:51

@bez91 Hope you are sitting comfortably 😂I tried to use our gro blinds the other day for operation black out (our blackout curtains let a lot of light in around the sides) & the suckers stopped sucking 😂they were second hand to us years ago though, so what we did was scouted the charity shops for blackout curtains & my mum then took the linings out & just made a big covering for our windows & we've velcro'd it up. It ain't pretty but it helps to keep heat out too & it's fine for a bit too she goes in her room where her blackout blind has velcro down the sides then blackout curtains

Minster2012 · 16/06/2022 10:52

Oh and I've been very tempted to snip the knot but my friend who is a HV won't so that worries me 😬

Minster2012 · 16/06/2022 10:55

Ooo & also perfect weather for the little rompers @BellatrixK got us after I was progesterone drug mule 😂& I've decided I love this kind of colour combo on her, I'm not sure that baby pink actually suits her 😬sorry random brain splurge as I'm baby trapped 😝
