Oh that sounds reassuring @madeleine85 glad you've got some answers. How surreal to have that date now! When will it be confirmed do you think or do they just wait to see?

@legaltigger I'm so sorry, what a week you've had. Your poor mum 😔 really good that they've caught it but that sounds really stressful and scary for you all the same. Sending massive hugs and chocolate and 💐 xxx

HaresHoping · 26/05/2022 21:05

Oh @Celyn22 bless you. It's so scary and uncertain isn't it. It sounds like you're working out solutions though and I'm sure you'll work out what to do, give yourself a bit of time and space. You can do this. In the meantime can you try to lean on those around you a bit more for support if you can? And you can always rant to us ❤️

HaresHoping · 26/05/2022 21:05

Ahh that's lovely @Sweetbabydust1989 🥰

Sweetbabydust1989 · 26/05/2022 21:20

@HaresHoping it's amazing one less thing to worry about.. I am nearly done and I am only 23 weeks 3 days gone lol xx

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 26/05/2022 22:36

@HaresHoping in desperation I've bought some magnesium spray which is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. I've sprayed it on my feet and knees. Fingers crossed that this helps me to sleep. I hope the sleep fairies let you sleep tonight.

My nesting has gone wild this week. I've cleaned parts of my house that have never been cleaned since we moved in here! The charity shop has benefitted massively 🤣

madeleine85 · 26/05/2022 22:51

Thanks @HaresHoping, my last one was 6 weeks early, so hoping that this one stays in much longer this time. I joke that I am giving him his eviction orders and going hard on squats at 37 weeks once i'm "full term", but today joked in front of the doctor who was like "oh no you don't" and gave me the chat about 39 weeks being safe and even before that lung development isn't perfect. My DD had breathing issues for a few weeks from being so early, so I wouldn't want to risk doing that a second time and potentially having another NICU baby if I can avoid it. I'm just going to have to play this one by ear. Fortunately my work will be very busy from early July until mid August, which takes me nicely to 2 weeks from DD, and will hopefully keep me out of the exercise area and desk bound. As no one else there can do my job (tiny start up), it is in my interests to get it all finished before the little one comes.

@Celyn22 it is a weirdly emotional and exhausting time isn't it!? There are so many stress factors. Today I found myself talking to my doctor about the fact that I want a coil in straight after as we financially feel capable of 2 children, not 3. Even then there are always money stresses, we don't own property yet, the market is too high and I don't see an end to it right now. It feels like i'm playing at being a grown up if that makes sense, despite being 37! On the up side, it sounds like you have a truly lovely setup, with real nature all around and must make for a beautiful retreat setting (all I have is a damn owl somewhere that has been waking me up at 5am if I forget to close my windows)! After another early wake up, I had a 2 hour nap today! It sounds like you are incredibly artsy, which is great. People who do etsy seem to love it. Is there an area that you would be interested in?

PrettyTulip · 27/05/2022 07:31

Morning ladies. Sorry I'm so rubbish at keeping up on this thread.

I've got a next2me for our bedroom. And will buy a cot soon for the nursery; but what do you guys think is the best thing for baby to sleep in whilst downstairs? Struggling to know what to get x

legaltigger · 27/05/2022 10:46

Just a normal Moses is good @PrettyTulip !

PrettyTulip · 27/05/2022 12:57

@legaltigger do they not grow out of them super quick though? I was thinking about maybe getting a Moses basket & stand

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 27/05/2022 13:05

During the day time, my DD was in the Moses basket until she was 10 weeks, then she moved to the swing which encouraged longer naps with the rocking motion. Then when she got to 6 months, I used to put her in her cot so she associated all sleep at home with the cot.

legaltigger · 27/05/2022 14:43

I mean, I think dd used hers until about 9? Months. It was a while ago. She hated the swing thing. Sometimes I'd just put her in her pram!

Em85kk · 27/05/2022 14:55

Hi guys. We’ve ordered our pram! We went for the Bugaboo Fox2, it was on offer and got extra discount on the accessories. Due to be delivered in august. We’re at the baby show tomorrow as well, so think this will be an expensive weekend!!

dkedm15 · 27/05/2022 17:05

@Em85kk ooh where did you get it from? I hit 24 weeks yesterday and we'd said at that point we'd properly start looking for bits (then had a dream last night that I was giving birth and didn't have a single thing bought and had to carry her everywhere in my coat(?!?) hahaha) xx

Em85kk · 27/05/2022 17:17

@dkedm15 ha! We’ve bought loads to be honest, totally different to first time round when I was way too anxious and scared. We got it from Winstanley’s pramworld.

Also had my first ‘are you sure it’s not twins’ comment. From none other than my mum! 🙄Bump has properly popped and it’s all at the top so I do look big but still!!x

dkedm15 · 27/05/2022 18:02

@Em85kk yeah this is our first so I'm a bit like you were and haven't done anything yet!! Fab thank you so much - will have a nosey now!

Oh god 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️ are you okay?! What a delightful comment 🙄Xx

dkedm15 · 27/05/2022 19:06

@Em85kk I also have now ordered the Fox2 🤣 xx

legaltigger · 27/05/2022 19:57

Oh god the nerve pain in the top of my bump is back. Had this when I had dd and omg it's excruciating and nothing that can be done!

Em85kk · 27/05/2022 20:05

@dkedm15 ha ha brilliant, which colour did you go for?

Yeah, I’m used to it my mum has no filter! I think she actually believed there might be two, even though I’ve had 5 scans, she said it might be hiding 🙄😂

Redapple21 · 27/05/2022 20:06

Does anyone ever still feel like being pregnant is so surreal? Sometimes I can't quite believe it. I think because I've always thought 'one day il have a baby', and now I can't quite believe it's actually happening! Hard to think there's actually a baby in there. Having a weird moment!

Butterflytulip · 27/05/2022 21:38

@LittlemissMama67 oh my gosh. So glad you are all ok. That's the Main thing.

@ALYGirl I got the snuz pod 3 in my last pregnancy. It was fab. I ordered it from natural baby shower and got discount on it.

@legaltigger sorry to hear! Glad it was found early and hopefully all will be fine.

@Celyn22 it's the bloody hormones!!!

@PrettyTulip my
Last baby refused to be put down so we got zero use out of Moses basket!!!! She slept in the next to me attached to bed ok tho.... eventually after a month or so! We literally took turns all night to do 3 hour shifts holding baby!!

The bugaboo fox 2 is great if you have just the 1 baby! You can't convert it to double. Which I'm regretting now!!

@Redapple21 it's so odd isn't it!! I already have a little one and still can't believe she came from my tummy!!!!

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 27/05/2022 22:27

Second or more times mums... have you found that your love for your older ones has increased during pregnancy? I don't know if it's hormones, but I'm so overwhelmed with love for DD and this baby! Especially as DD keeps saying such sweet things. She told my bump that "mummy is beautiful." I may never recover from this 🥺

Butterflytulip · 27/05/2022 22:38

Aww that's lovely @TurquoiseDreamCatcher my toddler tries to kick and smack my tummy!! She's too young to get it lol

amorningperson · 27/05/2022 22:40

Oh lord @legaltigger your poor mum!! How is she doing with the news? Must be so stressful.

@Redapple21 i feel like I had a few omg there’s an actually human baby brain moments in my first pregnancy. One way in third trimester when the midwife felt and wiggle (very gently) the babies what’s saying it was engaged and I felt the tiny wiggle of the head and then got a good pummelling in the ribs as a result 😂 it just hit me that there was a PERSON IN THERE! I think this time around it’s less ethereal.

@ALYGirl we has a next to me crib and an actual crib that didn’t get constructed until 6 months when we started to transfer. Baby spent a LOT of time in the actual bed though 😂

urgh I feel you on the stress front. We are in a precarious living situation. Also my temporary (May leave cover) contract with work ends august so I don’t qualify for leave or pay and won’t have a job to ‘come back to’. I left a perment job for the temp one as it was a pay raise and a promotion so hoping it means I can re enter the job market at a higher level but it’s still a bit scary!!! What does everyone do? Work? Study? Sahm???

My belly is really popping this week and I feel the stretch starting in my midline- anyone have a good bump support/ any good maternity clothing purchases to recommend??

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Em85kk · 27/05/2022 22:56

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher oh gosh that’s so cute. My dd was saying how much she loves mummy and daddy in the car the other day, and without hesitation said and my baby brother too 🥲 I get that overwhelming feeling too, I think it’s hormones!

Redapple21 · 27/05/2022 23:06

@amorningperson @Butterflytulip oh yes I'm glad it's not just me haha, I still can't quite actually believe it some days!
